VV Vaageesan, an engineering student from Chennai, has taken legal action against the producers of Sai Pallavi's movie Amaran, why?Because of a phone number.

Vaageesan has sued the makers and is now demanding Rs 1.1 crores in damages after his phone number was shown in the movie, as per The Hindu.

In a particular scene of the movie, Pallavi's character, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, shares his number with Sivakarthikeyan's character, Major Mukund.Vaageesan claims that the phone numberthat is shown on the piece of paper is his contact number.

One of the digits was not clear in the crumbled paper shown in the movie. However, Vaageesan claimed that his number was visible due to which he has been continuously receiving the calls.

After the release of the film around Diwali, Vaageesan started receiving calls from unknown callers, who were asking to talk to the south star.

Vaageesan has tried several times to resolve this issue with the makers by raising it on social media and tagging director Rajkumar Periyasamy and actor Sivakarthikeyan. However, his concerns were ignored.

Frustrated with the calls, Vaageesan took the legal routeas he demanded the makers to remove the number from the movie.

“Since the release of the movie, I have not been able to sleep, study, or carry out basic activities without interruptions. The moment I switch on my phone, strangers call me. I am unable to even book a cab and call/receive the driver due to continuous incoming calls," The Hindu reported, quoting Vageesan.

Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, the Tamil movie Amaran is a huge box office hit.

Adapted from the book series, ''India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes'' by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, the movie revolves around the life of Major Mukund, who died during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014. The movie focuses more on his life with his wife Indhu and his family.

So far, the movie has raked in ₹168.70 crore net across all languages.
