Financial documents from the bankruptcy filing show that USAC has limited assets and owes over $500,000 in unsecured claims. It also lists current player contracts, which could now be delayed or renegotiated due to bankruptcy laws.ACE criticised the move strongly, saying USAC "could not bear for the hearing to begin" and was only acting out of "politics and personal agendas." With the bankruptcy case taking priority, the legal fight with ACE is on hold. Also read | Ravi Ashwin goes unsold in ILT20 auction but Pakistan players picked despite no NOC Why Did USA Cricket File for Bankruptcy? According to a report by Cricbuzz, USAC’s decision may have been a last-minute attempt to gain legal leverage. Financial documents from the bankruptcy filing show that USAC has limited assets and owes over $500,000 in unsecured claims. It also lists current player contracts, which could now be delayed or renegotiated due to bankruptcy laws. ACE criticised the move strongly, saying USAC "could not bear for the hearing to begin" and was only acting out of "politics and personal agendas." ACE also claimed it had offered to keep payments going if USAC agreed to a temporary legal agreement, but USAC refused. What Next? The future of USA Cricket now hangs in the balance. With the bankruptcy case taking priority, the legal fight with ACE is on hold. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) had earlier asked USAC’s board to resign to help reform the sport’s governance but the board declined.

This marks the first time an ICC member board has ever declared bankruptcy, sending shockwaves through the world cricketing community. Tensions had been rising between USAC and ACE, the company that funds and manages much of American cricket's development.

USA Cricket files for bankruptcy ahead of court hearing with ACE

IND vs WI: Here's what happened last time West Indies toured India in red-ball format

West Indies are in India for a two-Test series which begins on October 2 in Ahmedabad. They start the series as underdogs against a side which, despite in transition, ranks in top three in world cricket. West Indies were once a force to be reckoned with across the globe but now are a pale shadow of the past. Their record against India since 1994 also shows their decline - they have played 10 Tests against India in India since 1994 on four tours and have not won a single one, instead lost eight times and drawn twice.
Is this last West Indies vs India Test series for foreseeable future?
The Test cricket's status in world cricket has been a question for a long time now. The International Cricket Council (ICC), to boost the Test cricket, introduced World Test Championship (WTC) about seven years ago but it has only widened the gap between top tier nations and other teams. In the three WTC Finals since the maiden one in 2021 - only four teams have managed to reach the final - New Zealand (2021), India (2021 & 2023), Australia (2023 & 2025), and South Africa (2025).Also Read - PCB hits panic mode after Asia Cup final loss vs India, cancels players' NOCs to participate in foreign T20 leaguesThere's been a new proposal sent to ICC to keep Test cricket relevant - a two-tier system which will divide the Test playing teams into two groups.
How will two-tier Test cricket work?
The proposal of two-tier Test cricket, if accepted, will be applied after current Future Tour Programs (FTP) ends in 2027 with the WTC 2027 final. The system, if accepted, will make it near impossible for West Indies have a Test series against India which means the upcoming series could be the final chance for West Indies to register a Test win in India for the first time since 1994.

The system, if accepted, will make it near impossible for West Indies have a Test series against India which means the upcoming series could be the final chance for West Indies to register a Test win in India for the first time since 1994.

There's been a new proposal sent to ICC to keep Test cricket relevant - a two-tier system which will divide the Test playing teams into two groups. The system, if accepted, will make it near impossible for West Indies have a Test series against India.

Explained: Is this last India vs West Indies Test series before ICC introduces new system?

The BCCI is preparing one of the greenest pitches produced in India for the first Test against the West Indies, which starts in Ahmedabad on Thursday (Oct 2). Contrary to the idea of producing rank turners over the years, the Ahmedabad curator could spring a surprise for the season opener against the West Indies. The latest reports have suggested that the pitch (to be used) has a lush, even covering of grass, and while he might trim it by the time the match begins, there could still be 4-5mm left for the opening session.
So, why not a rank turner for the Ahmedabad Test?
An ESPNcricinfo report states that the reason behind preparing a greener track for the first Test is due to the soil’s composition. Given that the square at the Narendra Modi Stadium has both red-and-black-soil pitches, and the strap chosen for the first Test has red soil, it tends to offer bounce and carry when held together by the grass. However, should there be no grass, the wicket might crumble into dustbowls as the game progresses, with the Wankhede pitch (used for IND-NZ Mumbai Test last year, where the spinners picked 34 off 38 fallen wickets) being the latest example of it. Moreover, another reason behind preparing a greener track for the West Indies Test is the rainy weather the city has experienced lately. While the pitch remained covered on Sunday and Monday, the two teams trained on Tuesday; the rains are likely to interrupt proceedings on the first day of the first Test, with the forecast for the remaining five days remaining clear.
Blow to West Indies
Following injuries to the two Josephs who were to lead the pace attack – Shamar and Alzarri, the touring West Indies might miss the zeal on this track, unlike India, which retained two of their premier seamers – Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj for the home season opener. Had the pair been around, West Indies, for the first time in a decade, could have come up toe-to-toe against India's pace attack, making it a mouth-watering contest for the fans. However, the absence of the first-team quicks leaves WI with just Seales and two all-rounders, Justin Greaves and Anderson Phillip, to share the new ball with. On the other hand, the Indian Team has enough firepower in each of its bowling departments. The inclusion of Ravindra Jadeja and another bowler, who could be any one of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar, would complement the deadly pace duo. Here is Team India’s predicted playing XI for the first Test – Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (captain), Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj

The absence of two Josephs - Shamar and Alzarri, who got ruled out of the India Tests with respective injuries, could hurt the touring side should there be a greener track on offer for the first Test.

The absence of two Josephs - Shamar and Alzarri, who got ruled out of the India Tests with respective injuries, could hurt the touring side should there be a greener track on offer for the first Test.
