There is lot to say: Riaz reacts after being sacked from PCB selection panel
In the aftermath of Pakistan's shambolic performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Wahab Riaz was sacked as the member of the selection committee on Wednesday (Jul10). Soon after his sacking, the former Pakistani pacer reacted to the development and shared a lengthy note on his official account on X.
Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were sacked from their positions in the selection committee as Pakistan cricket kicked off their revamp process postthe T20 WC, in West Indies and the USA, where Babar Azam & Co. were eliminated in the group stage. Post his sacking, Riaz took to his official handle on X and captioned the post saying, "There is a lot to say but I don't want to be part of blame games".
Riaz wrote on X, "My time serving as a member of the selection committee for PCB comes to an end, I just want my people to know that I have served the game I love with faith and sincerity and have given 100 per cent for the betterment of Pakistan cricket."
He further mentioned, "It has been an honour to serve as part of the selection panel. To make collaborative decisions as part of the seven-man panel to select the national team was a privilege - everyone's vote carried equal weight, and we made selection decisions as a team andshared the responsibility of that process equally. It was an honour to contribute my part to that."

I am confident that the team plans the coaches have put together will ensure this team continues to grow into a dominant force as we move forward and I wish them the best of luck on that journey. Notably, an internal PCB enquiry is believed to have taken place which founddiscrepancies in many of the committee's decisions. In addition, the sacking isa consequence of the feedbackreceived from the many members of the T20 WC touring committee, comprising the manager, coach Gary Kirsten and possibly even the captainBabar.
Both Riaz and Razzaq were part of the seven-member PCB selection panel whichpicked the Pakistan squad for the recently-held 20-nation ICC event, won by Team India.
Thus, the musical chairs within the PCB continued with another sacking. In the past four years, the board has sackedsix chief selectors, including Riaz.
