India thrashed Zimbabwe in the fifth and final T20I to end the bilateral series with a 4-1 scoreline. The final T20I started on a dramatic note after hosts opted to bowl first in Harare,as Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smacked a full-toss from Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza for a huge six. To add to the bowler's woes, he also overstepped. The following delivery was a length ball which was also deposited into the stands by Jaiswal. Thus, the 22-year-old became the first-ever cricketer to smash 12 runs off the first legal delivery as the Indian innings started on a roaring fashion.

Jaiswal, however, couldn't continue for long as he departed for 12 in the first over itself, being clean bowled by Raza. The left-hander, who was part of the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team during their victorious run in the 2024 T20 World Cup, ended the five-match series with scores of 36, 93* and 12. The batter ended up as the second-highest run-getter with 141 runs, despite playing just three games, at an average of 70.50 and a strike-rate of165.88.
Following Jaiswal's dismissal, the Shubman Gill-led India rode on Sanju Samson's 58 and Shivam Dube's 12-ball 26to post 167/6. In reply, Zimbabwe were never in the hunt and only managed 125 in 18.3 overs withDion Myers topping with 34. Mukesh Kumar stood tall with the ball, returning with 4 for 22.
