The Sri Lankans were wobbling at 75/7 when play was called off due to bad light.
The Indians had declared at 352/8 earlier in the day, leaving the Sri Lankans with a target of 231 to win.
The Lankans lost two early wickets and went into tea at 8/2.
They settled down somewhat after tea -- albeit losing two more wickets -- moving up to 96/4.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar got four wickets, ending with figures of 11-8-8-4.
Mohammed Shami posted figures of 2 for 34.
