Remember Lisa? Apple's personal computer device came way before the much-loved Macbook of the 21st century.
According to reports, California's Computer History Museum has managed to recover the source code which will facilitate the release of Lisa operating system (OS).
The source code for the OS as well as the applications now rests with Apple for review.
Lisa OS will be made available for free this year once Apple clears it for a release.
Lisa was released in the year 1983 and managed to sell close to ten thousand units.
Lisa's apparent failure is often believed to be the reason behind Steve's Job's shift from the company after which he founded NeXT Computer.
The company was eventually overtaken by Apple.
