Range Rover Electric waitlist doubles to over 38,000

There are plans for the first all-electric Range Rover SUV to be out later this year, and people have already lined up for it, with nearly 38,000 people on the wait list. This number has only increased in the past four months, intensifying the expectations for the Range Rover Electric. Since the company opened orders in December, Range Rover is preparing a launch of its first EV that experts called the “quietest and most refined Range Rover ever created”.

First of all, Range Rover EV has drawn significant consumer attention as it attracted more than 16 thousand people for the car by February. Since then, this number is gradually increasing as seen during JLR’s Investor Day in 2024 on Tuesday, where current Range Rover Electric waitlist now stood at above 38,000 from around 13,000 back in February 2023.

JLR also said that it has been reaching more than 186 million audiences through different social media platforms, underlining that the electric SUV targets potential customers in a very large level.

Electric cars made their entrance in March, with April introducing images of a dark-colored prototype of the SUV coupe for the new-generation EVs. It will be equipped with a fresh in-jewel EV propulsion system and the performance of the Range Rover will be better on low grip surfaces not to mention that it is capable of operating all-terrain, all-weather and all-surface. This particular is the first of its kind and it is called advanced traction control; its primary purpose is to enhance the performance in Winter conditions.

Over the coming months, Range Rover plans to introduce this model, and currently, it is assessing the vehicle’s performance in harsh weather conditions that its clients are likely to encounter. More significantly, the Range Rover Electric has been built with the capacity to tackle 33.5 inches (850 mm) of water, surpassing competitors like the GMC Hummer EV (32 inches) and Toyota Land Cruiser (27.5 inches).

As a result, while launching by the end of 2024, the Range Rover Electric will appeal to the clients who are actively searching for luxurious SUVs that can compete with those like Porsche Macan EV, Jeep Wagoneer S, and Tesla Model Y.
