As a result of the former president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva being unable to run as a candidate, a right-wing politician Jair Bolsanaro and environmentalist Marina Silva could be a leading candidate in Brazil's upcoming presidential elections, an opinion poll said.
According to an opinion poll by Datafolha showed that if he was imprisoned right now then it would have been him leading the race.

In various scenarios around candidate composition provided by the poll showed Jair Bolsonaro got 17 per cent of voting intention as compared to Marina's 15 per cent.
A situation of tied position can also come up as both leaders had a margin of just two per cent.
A recent addition to Brazil's socialist party PSB, leftist Ciro Gomes and former Supreme Court justice Joaquim Barbosa came at third place with 9% each.
