Rio-bound KLM Boeing 777 makes emergency U-turn to Amsterdam

Due to an unidentified mechanical problem, a Dutch airline's KLM Boeing 777 that was headed to Rio de Janeiro made an emergency landing back at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport on Sunday (23 June).
According to a spokesman for Dutch Air traffic control, the crew reported a problem and asked to land as a precaution, leading the aircraft, flight number KLM705, to turn back over to Belgium.
It is unclear exactly what was wrong. According to KLM, there was never a concern for the crew or passengers' safety, and a different aircraft would be used for the flight. FlightRadar24 indicated that the aircraft had made a return trip to Schiphol Airport.
