North Korea fired a number of unidentified projectiles on Thursday, South Korea's military said.
"North Korea fired unidentified projectiles eastward" from Sino-ri in North Pyongan province, South Korea'sJoint Chiefs of Staff(JCS) said in a statement.
The projectile was fired at about 4:30pm(0730 GMT) from a location in North Korea's northwest toward the east, South Korea'sJCS said in a statement.
Last week North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had overseen the launch of rockets and at least one short-range ballistic missile which the state media had said was "regular and self-defensive" in nature
The "drill" was the first test of a ballistic missile by North Korea since it had launched a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile in November 2017. North Korea had maintained a freeze in nuclear and ballistic missiles testing in place since 2017.
