
Maine US Presidential Election 2024: The presidential elections in the marginally Democratic state will be held on Nov 5, in which millions of voters will choose who occupies the White House for the next four years: Donald Trump or Kamala Harris. Joe Biden emerged victorious in the state in 2020, with 53.1 per cent voters leaning towards the Democratic candidate. On the other hand, Donald Trump got support from just 44 per cent of voters.
The winner in Maine will receive all two electoral votes. On November 5, the voters will choose electors to represent the state in the Electoral College through popular vote.
One federal Senate seat will be on the ballot on November 5, which will see Independent incumbent Angus King contesting against Republican former state party chair Demitroula Kouzounas, Democratic state official David Costello, and independent attorney Jason Cherry.
Both US House of Representatives seats will be up for grabs on Nov 5, one from each of the state's congressional districts.
In District 1, incumbent Democrat Chellie Pingree is fighting against Republican Ronald Russell.
In District 2, incumbent Democrat Jared Golden is up against Republican candidate Austin Theriault.

Elections for the Maine House of Representatives will also take place on Nov 5 to fill all 151 seats.
In 2020, 53.1 per cent of total voters in Maine voted for Joe Biden whereas Donald Trump received support from just 44 per cent voters. In 2016, Hillary Clinton registered marginal lead of just 3 per cent, with getting 48 per cent support in the state against Trump’s 45 per cent. In 2012, Barack Obama received 56.4 per cent of the votes, against just 41.1 per cent cast for Mitt Romney.
