Canada's Member of Parliament Kevin Vuong has hit out at his own government for failure to safeguard worship in peace. The reaction comes after Khalistani radicals attacked Hindu devotees outside a temple in Brampton on Sunday (Nov. 3).
"Alarming to see an attack on Hindu Canadians. From Khalistani extremists to terrorist cosplayers, Canada has become a safe harbour for radicals," Vuong wrote in reply to a video on social media platform depicting the incident.

"Our leaders are failing to safeguard Hindus as they have Christians & Jewish Canadians from violence. We all deserve to worship in peace," Vuong's post further read.
The temple's priest also condemned the incident and said the police were outnumbered before the perpetrators and that no arrests were made after the incident but investigation assurances were given. The priest gave the information while talking to news outlet News18.
Brampton city mayor Patrick Brown also assured to bring a motion for banning protest at places of worship.
“Places of worship should be safe spaces that are free of violence and intimidation. I have asked our City solicitor to look into the legality of such a by-law for our next scheduled meeting of City Council," said Brown in a post on X.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Canada denounced the incident and said: "VHP Canada denounces today's violent protests at Hindu Sabha Mandir, Brampton, ON and the violence against Hindu community members by Khalistani extremists. We demand that Federal and Ontario governments take the strictest actions against perpetrators of such violence as well as their support network. We also urge the Hindu community to unite in making our voices heard to bring a Stop to rampant Khalistani attacks on Hindus and our Mandirs."
During the incident, a group of men were seen holding Khalistani flags and beating people inside the temple with sticks. They hit at the gate of the temple first and then entered the premises with flags in their hands. Some devotees inside the temple chose to run for safety while others retaliated, as per the videos circulating on social media.
