Around 140 US troops have been injured during operations against Iran, with eight seriously wounded, as the Pentagon investigates a strike on a girls’ school

Approximately 140 US troops have been injured since the start of US military operations against Iran, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said on Tuesday (March 10). Eight service members have reportedly suffered serious injuries.

“Since the start of Operation Epic Fury, approximately 140 US service members have been wounded over 10 days of sustained attacks,” Parnell said in a statement. “The vast majority of these injuries have been minor, and 108 service members have already returned to duty. Eight service members remain listed as severely injured and are receiving the highest level of medical care.”

Pentagon to release report on strike at girls' school in Iran

Meanwhile, the Pentagon is expected to release a report on a strike that hit a girls’ school in southern Iran, the White House confirmed on Tuesday. “The Department of War will do that, the investigation continues,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters during Tuesday’s press briefing. “And as the president said yesterday at his press conference, he will accept the conclusion of that investigation, whatever it may be.”

Although the Department of Defense says the probe is still ongoing, President Donald Trump said Saturday that he believed Iran was responsible for the attack. However, he softened that stance on Monday, suggesting Iran or another country could have been involved. Trump also said that several countries possess “generic” Tomahawk missiles similar to the one believed to have been used in the strike, even though it is not sure if Iran does have such weapons.
