US President-elect Donald Trump won the swing state Nevada in the 2024 presidential election and became the first GOP candidate to win the state after 20 years.
The Associate Press called the presidential race on Saturday (Nov 9) handing Harris a loss in Nevada where she held several campaigns.
Since 1992, Nevada has voted for the Democratic presidential nominee in every US election, except the two elections when George W Bush ran for president as a Republican.
In 2020, President Joe Biden won the state by 2.4 per cent more votes giving the Democrats a hope of winning Nevada in 2024 as well. But it could not happen.
With the results, Republicans surprised many by beating Democrats in Nevada this election.

During the election campaign, both Harris and Biden made several visits to Nevada.
"Nevada, I am here asking for your vote. And here is my pledge to you, and I have your back, as president, I pledge to you to seek common ground and common sense solutions to the challenges you face. I am not looking to score political points," Harris said in one of her campaign speeches.
"I am looking to make progress. And I pledge to listen to experts, to listen to those who will be impacted by the decisions I make and to listen to people who disagree with me. Because that's what real leaders do," she added.
Final votes tally
Donald Trump's Republicans held on to a narrow edge on Friday as election officials tallied the final votes that will determine control of the US House of Representatives, though Democrats succeeded in flipping a pair of New York state seats.
Republicans have secured at least 211 seats, seven short of the majority in the 435-member chamber, with 24 races left to be called, according to projections by Edison Research. Republicans are set to hold a majority of at least 53 seats in the Senate.
