The German authorities have detained the chief executive of Volkswagen’s Audi division, Rupert Stadler, on Monday.
Stadler has been detained in connection to the ongoing investigation into alleged manipulation of emissions controls.
Aspokesman for parent company Volkswagen has said that the hearing to determine whether he will be remanded is ongoing.
