After support for anti-abortion group, Match group suspends political donations
Match group is an Americaninternet and technology company, which runs dating apps like Tinder and Hinge.
The company has recently suspended some of its political donations after the Roe ruling came out.
This decision was taken by the American company after it was widely criticized for supporting the Republican Attorneys General Association,which works to undermine abortion rights and supported theoverturning of Roe v. Wade.
Match Group donated more than $100,000to the both Republican association as wellto the Democratic Attorneys General Association last year.
According to a report by The Guardian, Bernard Kim, who is the chief executive of the company said in a statement that the companyhas stopped funding the Republican Attorneys General Association after it was revealed that the company had made a $137,000 donation to the group.

According to a report by the New York Times, Kim said,“It’s my responsibility to understand how these donations fit into our larger lobbying activity and determine what we will do moving forward".
However, Match group was one of the companies which gave a vocal response to theSupreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson. The ruling ended almost 50 years offederal abortion rights.
The company also announced that it would add a feature of a "pro-choice badge" inusersprofile.
The American companysupportsPlanned Parenthood, which is a nonprofit organisationthat provides reproductive health care in the United States and globally, through its in-app promotions.
Another thing that the company announced was thatit would provide reproductive care coverage, which coverslodging and travel costs for part-time as well as full-timeemployees,contractors,plus a companion, who needs to travel out of thestate to receive abortion care.
Not just Match group, but soon after the 50-year federal rights were ended, many companies including Apple and Disney, announced to bear the travel costs for their employees who want to travel in order to undergo the abortion procedure as they live in states where it is now illegal.
But still, the company came under the radar because of its donation to the Republican Association.
