Both sides are escalating drone warfare, with Ukraine targeting Russian oil sites and ports, and Russia reporting more than 170 drones shot down.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky is now urging allies for $1 billion a month in weapons, while the Kremlin demands Ukraine stay outside NATO, and non-nuclear.
With peace talks frozen, and prisoner exchanges the only area of cooperation, the brutal stalemate grinds on.
