A U.S. federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration from enforcing its latest executive order aimed at limiting birthright citizenship. U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman ruled that the new August 6 directive: which specifically targeted "birth tourism" and children of noncitizen parents—is almost certainly unconstitutional as applied to a certified class of immigrant families.
