Nepal is waiving climbing permit fees for 97 Himalayan mountains in its remote Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces for the next two years. The move aims to boost tourism in lesser-known regions while Everest fees rise to $15,000. With mountaineering a key revenue source, Nepal hopes this initiative will spotlight its untapped adventure destinations and support economic growth in underdeveloped areas.
