<p>A captain in the United States Air Force has revealed that around half a century ago, a UFO attack allegedly took down weapons on a nuclear missiles base he was working on. Speaking to National Geographic, the Air Force Captain has alleged that the incident was concealed from the public.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He recalls, "Sometime in the evening hours, I get a call from the main guard upstairs. He tells me that there are strange lights flying upon the facility."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Andrew McCarthy, who is known for clicking breathtaking photos of the cosmos, recently published a photo which showed the massive 356-foot-long orbiting laboratory transiting a massive crescent moon. The laboratory appeared like a shiny speck and the moon's crated surface was clearly visible.&nbsp;</p>

<p>McCarthy stated that he went to a remote location in the Sonoran Desert and placed his equipment among cacti in 105°F (40.5&nbsp;degree Celsius) heat with hopes of&nbsp;capturing&nbsp;details of the station which is rarely visible.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This transit happened at 4:50 pm, so the sun was still out. That made the moon much lower contrast and difficult to focus on using my equipment. Thankfully, the ISS still shines brightly enough to capture in conditions like this," he said.</p>

<p>The ISS is stationed 254 miles above the surface of Earth and 238,900 miles from the moon. The massive craft travels five miles per second and completes a full moon transit in around half a second.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Shooting in desert</strong></h2>

<p>Two telescopes were set up by McCarthy in the desert in case one does not work during the mission, something which had happened to him in the past.</p>

<p>"I use two telescopes for multiple reasons," stated McCarthy in a press release.</p>

It also allows me to use colour and monochrome cameras with different strengths. This image was captured using both, so I was able to combine the final images," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the astrophotographer got only one moment to capture the transit of the ISS across the moon, specifically a quarter of a second.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Precision during the capture was paramount. Due to the focal lengths used, the camera would have missed the transit entirely if my position on Earth was off even slightly," he said.</p>

<p>The ISS travels at a whopping 17,500 miles per hour, so the exposure of the camera had to be very short to avoid motion blur.</p>

<p>Admission to Sichuan University comes with great perks for students, including more job opportunities, a settled career and a societal reputation. In a nutshell, the qualification in the gaokao exam can change one’s fate once and for all.</p>

<h2><strong>Who is Liang Shi?</strong></h2>

<p>Liang Shi is no ordinary man. The 56-year-old tycoon went on to become a successful construction materials businessman&nbsp;after getting off to a humble beginning. But the fact that he could never get a college education always kept him anxious and made him feel incomplete. "I really want to go to university and become an intellectual," Liang Shi was quoted as saying by AFP. "It's an uncomfortable thought that I didn't manage to get a college education," he added.</p>

<h2><strong>Took the first test in 1983</strong></h2>

<p>Liang Shi was a 16-year-old student when he took the exam for the first time. He kept&nbsp;trying his luck throughout the coming decade until he was forced to give up in 1992 due to age restrictions for single people.</p>

<p>A nature lover and nurse in Canada claimed to have captured bizarre footage on her security camera. It supposedly shows&nbsp;“two witches holding a carcass-eating ritual”. The scary video was captured in the camera that the woman had installed near her home, according to a report published by Fox News.</p>

<p>“I don’t know what the heck was up with that,” said 36-year-old Corinea Stanhope, of Powell River, British Columbia, while speaking to Kennedy News. “It really freaked us out, it’s not something you see every day," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Stanhope said that she came across a deer carcass which was present in the garden inside her property. She added that she set up the camera to check if any animal would take interest in the dead deer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I came the next day, and grandpa said he’d got naked people on the camera, and I said, ‘No, you didn’t. Bulls**t.’ So, he showed me,” she stated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Stanhope further emphasised that the carcass-eaters had apparently emerged about 10 minutes after sunset and looked “dishevelled” and appeared to be wearing wigs.</p>

<p>“You can’t really tell from the photos, but the hoof was brought right up to her mouth,” Stanhope said. “I don’t know if she was kissing it, smelling or eating it, but to touch a decaying carcass like that makes me feel sick – the amount of bacteria that must have been on there," she added.</p>

<p>“Maybe they were paying their respects, but they were naked,” the nature lover further stated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Stanhope admitted that she was “creeped out” because the incident happened just a two-minute walk from her house. She said that she was fearing for the safety of her horses.</p>

<p>“I was concerned about them messing with my horses at night. The horses always get really spooked and unnerved around that area. I thought they imagined stuff at first, so I didn’t think anything of it. Maybe I believe them now," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sowerby was sentenced to eight-week of suspended imprisonment and was also ordered to complete rehabilitation by working for up to ten days with the probation service. Sowerby also received 60 hours of unpaid work along with a three-year driving ban.</p>

<p>The teenager was earlier involved in a drug-driving offence in February 2022. He was topped by the police and underwent a blood test that indicated that he had used cocaine over the legal permissible driving limit.</p>

The movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released in India on June 1 and from their latest post, it seems that Mumbai Police are a fan of the masked superhero.</p>

<p>Mumbai Police dropped a clip from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that pointed out how having too many riders on two-wheelers can be dangerous. The video showed Marvel comics villain Spot, talking to what appears to be a family of four commuting in one bike. Spot addresses the commuters and says, “That’s very dangerous”.</p>

<p>Mumbai Police shared the video with the caption, "No matter which multi-verse you are in, safety is always the canon." At the end of the clip, they included a pun that read, "Sp(r)ider safety".</p>

<p>The post was a hit, just like most things concerning Spider-Man are on the internet. The official account of Sony Pictures wrote, “And that's how you put rule breakers on the Spot.”</p>

<p>Some praised the dedication of the Mumbai Police to use unique ways to spread awareness. “The admin is on the next level,” a comment read.</p>

<p>Some accused the police officers of giving away spoilers by revealing the scene. One person wrote, “Spoilers! Not fun.”</p>

<p>Some defended the action of the police department using the clip from Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse. “For everyone who is commenting about media piracy, they have literally given Video Credits to Sony Pictures (it’s in the bottom left corner). In fact, Sony Pictures have themselves commented under this post as well,” an individual explained.</p>

<p>An officer of the Indian lender HDFC Bank was suspended on Monday (June 5) for his alleged unruly behaviour with his colleagues during an internal meeting held online.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video which has gone viral on Twitter, the officer of a Kolkata branch in the eastern state of&nbsp;West Bengal&nbsp;can be seen yelling at his junior colleagues for failing to meet sales targets of banking and insurance products.</p>

<p>HDFC Bank, in a statement, said, "This bears reference to a recent social media report. Basis a preliminary enquiry in the matter, the concerned employee has been suspended and a detailed investigation has been initiated which will be undertaken as per Conduct guidelines of the Bank".</p>

<p>The bank further emphasised having a zero-tolerance policy for any kind of misconduct that takes place in the workplace. It added that it firmly believes that all employees should be treated with dignity and respect.</p>

<p>“You can have really very dangerous threats to humans that could kill many humans, not all humans, simply from where we’d expect models to be in two years time,” said Clifford.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said humans should be prepared for&nbsp;threats ranging from cyberattacks to the creation of bioweapons if AI is allowed its way.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The kind of existential risk that I think the letter writers were talking about is...what happens once we effectively create a new species, you know an intelligence that is greater than humans."</p>

<p>“If we try and create artificial intelligence that is more intelligent than humans and we don’t know how to control it, then that’s going to create a potential for all sorts of risks now and in the future...it’s right that it should be very high on the policymakers’ agendas.”</p>

<p>Quizzed if what percentage chance he gave to the hypothesis that humanity could be wiped out by AI, Clifford said: “I think it is not zero.”</p>

What the actual 'duck': Apple iOS autocorrect will stop doing this to the F-word

<p>Police in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh claimed to have uncovered a racket involving religious conversion through an alleged gaming app. The Ministry of Home Affairs and the UP government have now sought a detailed report on the case and the modus operandi used to allegedly lure the youngsters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police claimed that the gang allegedly targetted impressionable children through an online game.</p>

<p>The said the game required users to recite verses from the Quran in order to win. They were also shown videos of radical Islamists such as&nbsp;Zakir Naik and Tariq Jameel.</p>

<p>Naik is a fugitive, currently on the run from the Indian government, after fleeing the country in 2016.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The accused also used to talk with the gamers (children) through a chat application and there they were shown videos of Zakir Naik and Tariq Jameel to persuade them to convert," a police officer in Ghaziabad said.</p>

<h2><strong>Cleric arrested from mosque&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>On Sunday, an Islamic cleric at a mosque in the Sanjay Nagar area of Ghaziabad was arrested in connection with the case.</p>

<p>The police acted after a father from Faridabad reported his son had been converted by someone he met online and had been visiting the mosque.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The cleric arrested has been identified as&nbsp;Abdul Rehman and hails from Ballia. Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched to nab the second accused, who hails from Thane in the western state of Maharashtra.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"On May 30, a case of religious conversion was registered at Kavi Nagar Police Station, in which two people were named and were identified as Shahnawaz Khan alias Baddo, a resident of Thane, Maharashtra and Nanni alias Abdul Rehman, a Maulvi at a mosque in Sanjay Nagar area.</p>

<p>Rehman has been arrested," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Ghaziabad, Nipun Agarwal.</p>

<p>Although the mosque committee claimed that Rehman quit the panel a few months ago, proof of the claim is yet to be submitted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"They don't have any proof. They, however, removed Rehman from the mosque committee's WhatsApp group on 2 June after the FIR was lodged in the conversion row," the police said.</p>

<p>According to the police, upon questioning the boy, they learnt that he and his friends were in contact with Rehman through a gaming app since 2021.</p>

<p>The boy's mother said she witnessed a change in his son's behaviour and even tried to counsel him but to no avail.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police is yet to question the youth from Chandigarh who had been brainwashed to convert by the gang. Further investigation is currently underway.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sasser met with David Wallace on an online dating service, Match.com, around 2020. The two were close and even trekked together in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, southeast of Knoxville. Their relationship deteriorated last year when Wallace moved with his then-fiancée, Jennifer, to Prattville, Alabama.</p>

<p>“I hope you fall off a cliff and die,” Melody Sasser stated when she got to know about David Wallace's intention to marry Jennifer.</p>

<p>Sasser joined the Online Killer market website in December. The scam website, which is now defunct, claimed to offer services such as "kidnapping, extortion, disfigurement by acid attack, and sexual violence," in addition to straight-up murder.</p>

<p>On January 11, Sasser, who worked for truck stop chain Pilot Flying J, sent the website $9,750 (Rs 8,05,570.84) in Bitcoin in exchange for Jennifer's details. Sasser tracked her information from a fitness app where Jennifer would update her details. This later tipped off the police about her.</p>

<p>Melody Sasser wrote to the site administrator to speed up the work.&nbsp;“Waiting for 2 months and 11 days and the work is not done. 2 weeks ago you said that on this. The work has been done and will be completed in a week," the user Cattree wrote on March 22. Jennifer Wallace has alleged that Sasser used this nickname online while trying to post a hit on her. "The work is still not completed. Is it necessary to delegate this task to someone else? Will it be finished? What is the reason for the delay, and when will it be completed?" the post added. &nbsp;</p>

<p>On April 27, the Department of Homeland Security was notified of the threats against Jennifer Wallace. Investigators worked with the couple to offer safety and find down the person who wanted her dead. Sasser was apprehended and detained on May 18. She is being held in custody, pending a court appearance on Thursday. If convicted of murder-for-hire, she faces up to ten years in prison.</p>

<p>According to experts, the area where the incident took place is considered one of the most dangerous spots to base jump. Only experts are recommended to perform the extremely tricky manoeuvre. There are rock and tree ledges in the first 400 metres before the 1500 metres straight down descent which can become difficult to negotiate.&nbsp;</p>

<p>These sculptures have been made from low-carbon earth-friendly concrete and reinforced with stainless steel. They are designed such that they can be colonised by the surrounding marine life, and become a part of the ecosystem. It is believed that various species such as corals and sponges will grow on and around these sculptures within the coming few years. This will alter the appearance of the sculptures in unpredictable ways.</p>

<p>For Kevin Maginnis, a business coach from Nashville, in the US state of Tennessee, weight loss meant taking a 100-day challenge to shed those extra kilos. Surprisingly he achieved this despite only eating junk food during the challenge period. In a social media video, he revealed eating only McDonald's meals as part of his diet plan.</p>

<p>As reported by People magazine, Kevin thought his extra weight was "absolutely unacceptable", so he planned to lose weight by cutting his meal portions by half and limiting his portions. This means that he would eat only half of each fast-food chain's meal he ordered. Kevin took up the challenge on February 21, 2023.</p>

<p>In an Instagram video, he announced that he has lost 58.5lbs, marking 100 days of his challenge. He captioned the post, “Nothing but McDonalds for 100 days, 3 meals a day, cut in 1/2!”</p>

During his interview, he stated that he had lost 12.5 pounds or approx. 5.6 kgs and was "feeling a lot of momentum". After explaining his diet, he claimed that his strategy was "absolutely working."</p>

<p>He ate one meal in two parts and did not snack in between. As an added bonus, he replaced soda with plain water. "The idea is to restrict calories," Kevin added in the interview, saying that he ate fries and dessert as well.</p>

This was originally posted for 24 hours but given the views, the outlet said: "We've decided to leave it up the rest of the weekend, so the sky's the limit!"</p>

<p>The movie has accumulated 102.4 million views, 297.8K likes, 112.8K retweets, and 18.6K quote tweets since it was posted. Additionally, around 82K people have bookmarked it.</p>
