<p>A horse that got spooked and jumped into a swimming pool was saved by a team of firefighters in Florida, US.</p>

<p>On June 20, the firefighters from Pasco County were called in after its owner found the animal stuck in the pool.</p>

<p>The footage shared by them shows the moment the horse was lifted from the water using a harness.</p>

<p>Officials said that the animal got startled by another horse before jumping into the pool.</p>

<p>“We are happy to report that the horse is in good condition! Thank you to everyone who responded and worked vigilantly to save a life,” <a name="_Hlk138425593">Pasco County Fire Rescue </a>wrote, sharing the video on social media.</p>

<p>Though the horse, named Moe, is usually calm, its owner Cindy Buckel said that another horse, Huey, cornered it near the above-ground pool.</p>

<p>"Every day I come home and I give him a hug, and I'll put his head on my shoulder," Buckel told Fox13.</p>

<p>He anaesthetised his wife by allegedly mixing the anti-anxiety drug Témesta (Lorazepam) into her evening meals, according to <em>The Telegraph.</em> To top off his debauchery, Dominique would record the men raping her wife. It is understood that he kept the assault footage on a USB drive in a folder titled 'ABUSES'.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The accused were of all ages - from 26 to 73 and came from different walks of life (prison guard, lorry driver, journalist, IT worker in a bank, municipal councillor). Investigators have identified 92 cases of rape of Françoise by 83 'aggressors' but are yet to identify the remaining alleged assailants.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Prosecutors investigating the case said all the men who came to Dominique's house performed the sexual acts out of their free will. He did not coerce them and none of the attackers "gave up going through with sexual acts on his wife given her state".</p>

<p>“He insisted that none of the men who came to his house gave up going through with sexual acts on his wife given her state. He never used violence or threats against anyone so that rapes would be committed. Each individual was in possession of his free will to stop these acts and leave,” wrote Avignon prosecutors cited by Le Monde.</p>

<p>“I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment,” Musk tweeted with a crying-laughing emoji.</p>

<p>A Twitter user replied to Musk saying he should be careful of Zuckerberg since the Facebook boss had been practising jiu-jitsu, a Brazilian martial art form.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” replied a cavalier Musk.</p>

<p>Though one would be forgiven to think it was all banter from Musk, Zuckerberg seemed game for the match. He posted a screenshot of Musk's tweet on his Instagram story, saying, "send me location".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Afterwards, another netizen posted Zuckerberg's Instagram story screenshot to which Musk replied,&nbsp;“If this is for real, I will do it.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ironically, this national park in the Nordic nation is home to Nokia, a brand which became a household name for making the best-selling smartphone of all time in the world.</p>

<p>Apart from all these requirements, the job comes with six weeks of vacation a year, but it is not always guaranteed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to recruiter George Dunn, this is the first time ever that the agency has posted a dog-nanny job. Since they posted this job advertisement, the post has already seen nearly 400 potential candidates.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“This is the first role we’ve offered of its kind. The salary connected to it is pretty unheard of,” Dunn told Kennedy News.</p>

<p>The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines 'sextortion' as a "serious crime" in which a perpetrator threatens to make public their victim's private information, images, videos or other data. This includes nude images, and more often than not, is done as a way to extort huge sums of money.</p>

<p>In a conversation with Fox News, a former Snapchat employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, said,&nbsp;"The potential harm, especially as it relates to minors, is severe."</p>

<p>He revealed that "We've seen thousands of reports this year. But … the ratio of reported to not reported is pretty high." He alleged that probably less than 5 per cent of the cases actually get reported.</p>

<p>Reportedly, on Snapchat, the issue began popping up more frequently around the beginning of 2021.</p>

<h2><strong>How does 'sextortion' work?</strong></h2>

<p>It's a financially motivated fraud. Do you remember the "Nigerian Princes" who around 20 years ago would email people asking them for "small help"? These days, those emails, and messages from bad actors posing as Nigerian royalty are nothing more than meme material and something that can be used to poke fun at the older generation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Similarly, sextortion is the latest fraud. In it, similar bad actors target young, gullible men. Posing as attractive young women from the United States or Western Europe, these fraudsters send their victim&nbsp;friend&nbsp;requests.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Over time, they establish trust and eventually start requesting nudes. Once the victim sends the personal images, these "sextortionists" threaten to post these images online.</p>

<p>Threatening to expose the victims' nudes, they extort money.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the Fox News report, the former Snapchat employee told them that in some cases, the scammers paste their target's nude images on fake "FBI Most Wanted" posters. They list them as sex offenders, paedophiles, child rapists and murderers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Incidentally, as per him, these new scams also mostly originate from Nigeria. However, he says,&nbsp;"It's pretty much understood that when we report this stuff, it's not going anywhere. The FBI doesn't have enough leverage with Nigerian authorities. Nigerian authorities don't have enough resources to do it, anyway."</p>

<h2><strong>Why target young men?</strong></h2>

<p>Simply put, "Young men are not used to this at all."</p>

<p>As per the former Snapchat employee, "They're targeting young men because young men are most likely to fall for this type of scheme."</p>

<p>He further remarked, "Also, young men are not used to&nbsp;being targeted like this."</p>

<p>According to the Fox News report, compared to young men, young women are not so easy to scam through this method. As young girls, they are taught to be cautious while talking to strangers online.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In cases where they do become a victim of sextortion, it is mostly about sexual content. They are mostly forced to send more sexually explicit content. However, young men face fraud where money is demanded from them.</p>

<p>Such abuse can have a huge devastating impact on young victims, especially teenagers, who do not know what to do or who to turn to for help.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Extreme, tragic steps by victims</strong></h2>

<p>In some cases, victims of such sextortion scams end up taking extreme steps. Fox News reports that, in some cases, young people have been known to resort to self-harm and suicide.</p>

<p>Last year, Jordan DeMay, a 17-year-old teenager from Michigan, took his own life after falling prey to sextortion. On 25 March 2022, the high school student was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per Fox News, the account was real, and it belonged to the real Dani Roberts, but was hacked. DeMay's nudes were used to leverage money, but once the young boy found himself unable to cough up any more money, he chose to end his life.</p>

<p>In another similar case, Gavin Guffey, the 17-year-old son of South Carolina state representative Brandon Guffey, killed himself after falling prey to a sextortion scam.</p>

<p>Back in July 2022, the young man was tricked by blackmailers posing as a young girl. After sending a nude picture, he faced extortion.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He reportedly begged the blackmailers for time to raise extra money but was only pushed. Under pressure, the teenager chose to kill himself with a self-inflicted gun wound.</p>

<p>Even after his death, the sextortionists reportedly kept up their efforts to extort his family. As per a CNN report from May 2023, Representative Brandon Guffey reported that the messages started just weeks after the 17-year-old's funeral. On August 20, the day young Gavin Guffey would've turned 18, the blackmailers sent his father a message which said, 'Did I tell you your son begged for his life,' with a laughing face emoji.<br />

<p>A hungry bear broke into a house, ate the owner's pork chops and got stuck trying to escape through a first-floor window. The incident took place in Steamboat Springs, a town in the US state of Colorado.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A neighbour filmed the entire episode which showed the bear easing itself out the window, bum-first, from the window before dangling dangerously on the ledge.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It took several attempts to make an exit but the drop seemed too steep&nbsp;even for the apex predator to take a plunge. After a couple of minutes of callisthenics outside the window, the bear decided it was best to go out the way it came in and that is through the ground floor window.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per prosecutors, Griffin would communicate with parents having minor girls over Google Hangouts and lure them into making their girls engage in sexual activity with himself. During one of those conversations, Griffin would once say that a “woman is a woman regardless of her age” and that women should be sexually subservient and inferior to men.</p>

<p>In June 2020, Griffin instructed the mother of a 9-year-old and a 13-year-old girl that her responsibility was to ensure her older daughter was "properly trained." He then transferred over $3,000 to the woman for plane tickets, enabling the mother and her 9-year-old daughter to travel from Nevada to Boston.</p>

<p>According to prosecutors, the mother and child flew to Boston in July 2020, where Griffin picked them up in his Tesla and drove them to his residence in Ludlow. At his house, the daughter was coerced into engaging in unlawful sexual activity.</p>

<h2><strong>Other charges of child sex against Griffin</strong></h2>

<p>In exchange for Griffin's guilty plea filed last December, prosecutors dismissed two charges related to allegations that he also attempted to entice two other children into sexual activities. One of these allegations involved a mother and her 14-year-old daughter, to whom Griffin offered a "virtual training session."</p>

<p>Che Garibaldi, the restaurant owner, operates two&nbsp;Taqueria Garibaldi restaurants in Sacramento and one in Roseville. He reportedly hired the phoney priest who asked workers if they harboured bad intentions towards their employer or if they had done anything to harm the company.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Department of Labor was as flabbergasted as anyone. In the official report, the department said its federal workers had seen all kinds of antics from corrupt employers over the years, but the trick pulled by&nbsp;Garibaldi was perhaps the "most shameless".&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the employees revealed the shoddy practices used by Garibaldi to the Department of&nbsp;Labor. The employee added that the company&nbsp;paid managers from the employee tip pool illegally, threatened employees with retaliation and adverse immigration consequences for cooperating with the department, and fired one worker who they believed had complained to the department.</p>

<p>“Under oath, an employee of Taqueria Garibaldi explained how the restaurant offered a supposed priest to hear their workplace ‘sins’ while other employees reported that a manager falsely claimed that immigration issues would be raised by the department’s investigation,"&nbsp;&nbsp;said the Regional Solicitor of Labor Marc Pilotin in a release.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Maria Parra, a server at the restaurant testified in court that her conversation with the bogus priest was unlike normal confessions. Instead of confessing what she wanted, the priest told her that he would&nbsp;ask questions to get the 'sins out'.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>“He asked if I had ever got pulled over for speeding, if I drank alcohol or if I had stolen anything.&nbsp;The priest asked if I had stolen anything at work, if I was late to my employment, if I did anything to harm my employer and if I had any bad intentions toward my employment," said Parra, according to court documents.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a bizarre step, radio DJ Randy 'R Dub' Williams, after travelling to over 190 UN-designated countries across the world, has established his own micronation called 'Slowjamastan' and made himself 'Sultan' of the territory, which spreads across 11 acres in the Golden State.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I've seen some incredible places that many people do not get the chance to travel to … What's next for me, it's to make a country of my own," Williams said while speaking to FOX 5. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The micronation, like any other country, has rules for residents. The actions outlawed include eating string cheese by biting through it and not pulling it apart, playing 'mumble rap' music and wearing crocs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The United States has not officially recognised the micronations, although 16 countries have stamped Williams' Slowjamastan passport. The man has claimed that 5,000 people have signed up to become&nbsp;his country's citizens.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Williams got the idea of creating Slowjamastan after coming across a micronation in Nevada called the 'Republic of Molossia'. &nbsp;</p>

<p>After purchasing the land in 2021, the Sultan made efforts to cultivate it into a nation and place it on the map.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The micronation has its own national anthem called 'Slowjamastan (I think It's Gonna Be an Awesome Place),' and also has a national animal - the ringtail raccoon and a 'parliament'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The currency of Slowjamastan is the 'duble'. Speaking about the structure of the government, Williams said it's a &nbsp;dictatorship which becomes a democracy occasionally.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We are a republic on some days, but on (other) days we have a dictatorship. I am the great leader that makes the rules, although sometimes … we let the community chime in on issues that are important to the Slowjamastani," the radio DJ said.</p>

<p>He said that after six days, finally "the dive was a go." However, when they were making preparations for their final descent to the site, the submersible's communications system failed.</p>

<p>"There's no GPS underwater, so the surface ship is supposed to guide the ship to the shipwreck by sending text messages," said Pogue, while speaking to Daily Mail.</p>

<p>"But on this dive, communication somehow broke down. The sub never found the wreck," he added.</p>

<p>"We were lost," &nbsp;one of the passengers was heard saying in the news package. 'We were lost for two and a half hours," he added.&nbsp;</p>

The Titanic tourist submersible was lost for hours in 2022. Here's what it looks like

<p>Florida police officer William Hollingsworth tried to save a person who was trapped in floodwaters while putting his life at risk. However, despite best efforts, both men got sucked into a drainage pipe. The horrific incident was recorded on camera and the gripping video was shared on the social media platform.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Escambia County Deputy William Hollingsworth was carried almost 100 feet in the drainage pipe beneath a four-lane highway by the water along with the man in distress before the two resurfaced on the other side, said the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on Friday.</p>

<p>Escambia County has been facing severe weather and torrential downpours for several days which reached its peak on Friday morning. The sheriff's office stated Hollingsworth was on patrol duty to help the motorists who were stuck in rapidly rising waters. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The deputy, during his patrol, met a man who was stuck in a disabled vehicle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The terrifying moment when the floodwaters captured Hollingsworth amid rescue was captured by the body camera footage. The police officer was dragged underwater by the water and was sucked by a drainage pipe by the side of the road.</p>

<p>For almost 30 seconds, all the noises in the video were drowned out by the roaring water as Hollingsworth is seen tumbling through the darkness. Through some miracle, the police officer along with the distressed man came out of&nbsp;the&nbsp;other side of the highway, where there was an outlet.</p>

<p>In the video, Hollingsworth is seen immediately rushing to help the other man once he is out of the pipe. "You okay, buddy? Can you believe what just happened to us?" exclaimed the deputy. He then asked the man to breathe and helped him get on his feet. "I almost died," the shocked citizen said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hollingsworth brought the man to a secured place and called other officers for help. The police officer was thanked for all the assistance by the man in distress.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"When I came out, you were right there," the man can be seen telling Hollingsworth.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A little more than a decade after scientists discovered the remains of a 16-year-old&nbsp;Anglo-Saxon girl in UK's Cambridgeshire who died more than 1,300 years ago, they have managed to reveal her face using facial reconstruction.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To succeed in their endeavour, scientists analysed the girl's skull to create a life-like reconstruction which showed how she looked prior to her untimely death. However, without DNA analysis, forensic artists could not render precise eye and hair colour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The new image shows she had a fair face with pale skin, a rather petite nose, pronounced cheekbones and one eye slightly lower than the other.&nbsp;</p>
