<p>The relative added that the sisters were worried about the state of the world, especially Rebecca, whose worldview had been altered by the pandemic.</p>

<p>Authorities also discovered personal belongings, tarps, and a lean-to built from logs over a fire pit near the campsite.</p>

<p>During one of the meetings called by the group, titled "Beyond F****d Banquet', a YouTube prankster group derailed the proceedings by setting off balloons with alarms.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Video activists Josh Pieters and Archie Manners got one of their colleagues to infiltrate the protest group by posing as an activist. The mole then attended one of the protests and was then invited to the banquet where activists could “grieve for what will die, but also to celebrate what we have achieved”.</p>

<p>The meeting, with 100 per cent plant-based food was hosted in a disused church. The members of the prank group entered the venue with helium-filled balloons that would float and stick to the high ceiling of the church. As the balloons reached the ceiling, an alarm went off, leaving JSO members puzzled.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"They have left us with a very difficult problem to solve," one of the hosts could be heard saying. Afterwards, some people in hi-vis jackets are forced to erect ladders to bring down the balloons.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a recent excavation, the archaeologists in western Jerusalem found more than 100 ceramic lamps squeezed into the cave's crevices. They theorised in a new paper that these were most likely used to conjure up dead spirits and their secrets —a practice known as necromancy.</p>

<p>Called the Te'omim Cave, it dates back to 4000 BCE and the fourth century AD, and has been the subject of various research for the past 150 years.</p>

<p>Eitan Klein, from the Israel Antiquities Authority at Ashkelon Academic College and Boaz Zissu from Bar-Ilan University, wrote in the ‘Harvard Theological Review’: "The Te'omim Cave in the Jerusalem hills has all the cultic and physical elements necessary to serve as a possible portal to the underworld.</p>

<p>It is believed that spring water flows through the underground system which allegedly had healing properties.</p>

<h2><strong>Secret passageways&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>It was only in the 1970s that the researchers unearthed a series of previously-undiscovered secret passageways leading to hidden chambers within the cave.</p>

<p>Their study states that the many long and narrow crevices found in these concealed areas used to house embedded archaeological artefacts such as coins, pottery, metal weapons, and, importantly, lamps and skulls.</p>

<p>Though not many human remains were on display, the researchers found a skull with four late Roman-era lamps tucked deep into a crevice that was particularly hard to reach.</p>

<p>According to researchers, this skull was used as a sorcery weapon to ward off evil spirits.</p>

<h2><strong>Ancient writings discovered</strong></h2>

<p>The researchers also found writings on the cave wall which suggest that it was around the time of the Roman and Greek eras. By studying those writing, the researchers inferred that the way the flames within the lamps flickered it was considered a way of communicating with demons and spirits from beyond the grave, Daily Star reports.</p>

<p>The writings also indicate that necromancy was commonly practised by witches in tombs or underground shrines, and skulls were a key feature, the study argues.</p>

<p>“Most of the objects discovered in hard-to-reach crevices in the Te'omim Cave, including the oil lamps, the ceramic and glass bowls and vessels, the axe head, and the daggers, were used in one way or another for sorcery and magic in caves perceived as possible portals to the underworld. Their purpose was to predict the future and conjure up the spirits of the dead,” the study noted.</p>

<p>"Because more than 100 ceramic oil lamps but only three human skulls have been found so far in the Te'omim Cave, we hypothesize that the primary cultic ceremony focused on depositing oil lamps for chthonic forces, perhaps as part of rituals conducted in the cave to raise the dead and predict the future," it said.</p>

<p>The excavation has been going since 2009 as part of a collaboration of the Martin (Szusz) Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology at Bar-Ilan University and the Cave Research Center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.</p>

Philip mentioned in the filed civil suit he was the 17th friend. If the winner list included Philip, they all would've received $58,000 each.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Philip told The US Sun, "I cared for these guys like they were family." He pointed towards his heart and said, "These are my friends. It hurts here." However, Philip added, "More than that, it hurts my wallet."</p>

<p>Philip aims to receive $70,000 plus interest through the lawsuit. He said, "I'm not backing off on this until I see it through."</p>

Canadian man sues friends for not sharing $1 million lottery money

<p>In a disturbing&nbsp;incident, the police in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh have lodged a case against five fishermen after they allegedly caught a rare Gangetic dolphin -an endangered species- from the Yamuna River and ate it.</p>

<p>According to a PTI report, the police took the action after a video of the incident went viral on social media on Sunday (July 23). The Kaushambi police released a statement saying it had arrested one perpetrator while an investigation was on to nab the others.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"On the basis of the written information given by Forest Officer Ravindra Kumar in connection with the hunting of Gangetic dolphins in Yamuna river village Naseerpur, a case has been registered in Pipri police station. One accused has been arrested in the case, and soon the rest of the accused will be arrested," read the statement by the police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The arrested culprit has been identified as Ranjeet while Sanjay, Diwan, Babaji and Gendalal remain on the run. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Musk, who called himself a 'free-speech absolutist', soon found himself at the receiving end of global criticism over his views on content moderation. Shortly after acquiring Twitter, Musk said in October 2022 that he would establish a “content moderation council” which will advise him on certain key decisions, like upholding former US president Donald Trump's suspension from the platform. Musk himself had said that he wouldn't reinstate Trump without consulting the council. But in November, Musk unilaterally revoked Trump's suspension.</p>

<p>Under Musk, Twitter also removed bans on many accounts, owners of which were called 'neo-Nazis' by news outlets.</p>

<p>Musk disbanded the Trust and Safety Council which was already existing within Twitter.</p>

<h2><strong>The Elonjet saga</strong></h2>

<p>In November 2022, Musk declared that he would not ban an account which monitored flights of his Gulfstream G700 private jet in real-time.</p>

<p>“My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk,” Musk tweeted.</p>

<p>The images of a man and a woman were shared on Instagram by an account called IAbuelas by Santiago Barros, the creator. He&nbsp;came up with the idea last year after discovering the Midjourney AI tool, Rest of World reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The images were created by splicing photos of the child's parents using Midjourney and then applying the age filter. The end product is a photorealistic portrait of the person in his or her in their current possible look in late forties.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Barros took images from the online archive of Grandmothers for the Plaza de Mayo, an organisation founded by the grandmothers of the kids kidnapped. The grandmothers earlier used to stand outside kindergartens, waiting for their disappeared grandkids.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Clarifying no connection with IAbuelas, the organisation reached out to Barros and published a joint statement saying that it is just an AI art project.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>'They are waiting for you'</strong></p>

<p>In a conversation with the Rest of World, Barros said that this is not just important for his family, but for others too. "That's what most important to me- for it to fell like they are looking at you, waiting for you to do something."</p>

<p>The images displayed by IAbeula are not a clear representation of Argentina's ethnic diversity, nor the imperfections that come with age.</p>

<p>"The app tends to show hegemonic portraits," Barros said. "For example, making everyone very thin … I’m working to make the images more diverse, more representative of what Argentines truly are."</p>

<p>Despite the project’s limits, the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo appreciated the spirit behind IAbuelas. It may also use AI portraits for its promotional material.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Barros hopes that his project might do some good amid decades of often fruitless search. He said, "If there’s at least one person that’s inspired by the project and calls the Grandmothers to ask about his or her identity, this will have been all worth it."</p>

<p>Authorities investigating Gilgo Beach murder suspect Rex Heuermann may have found a soundproof room in the basement of his home, according to a New York Post report.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The publication quoted an ex-colleague of&nbsp;Heuermann who said the Manhattan-based architect once took time off from his job to install a&nbsp;concrete-lined vault at&nbsp;his family’s Long Island&nbsp;house.</p>

<p>“It’s not just a hidden room — it’s a serious vault.&nbsp;It had a huge heavy-duty safe door. He went and poured new concrete walls, massive amount of concrete to encase this room," said his former coworker, adding,&nbsp;“It was maybe&nbsp;2&nbsp;or&nbsp;3&nbsp;feet thick."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, one of&nbsp;Heuermann's&nbsp;Massapequa Park neighbours said police told him about the basement room and that they believed at least one victim was killed there.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“This guy is a wacko. He’s got a soundproof room in his basement.&nbsp;What do you think that was for?"&nbsp;Robert Musto, 64, a retired Long Island Rail Road worker was quoted as saying.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“They’re saying there’s evidence he killed at least one of the girls down there/ The cops are going to dig all that out. Said they’re focused on the soundproof room in the basement but they’re going to look at everything," the neighbour added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, after discovering the secret room, police brought in three cadaver dogs to the property to properly scour it. A&nbsp;backhoe and dump truck for what the cops described a "major excavation" were also used to expedite the search operation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since&nbsp;Heuermann's arrest earlier this month, the authorities have been digging up his home meticulously to find any other bodies that may have been presumably killed by him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the controversy snowballed, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) also released a statement, clarifying that the tea packet was indeed vegetarian.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Some sections in media have reported that some export quality tea is being served by IRCTC which has many certificates like FSSAI, ISO, GMP, FDA, Hallal, etc. But it is being highlighted by some media sections as it is only halal certified," the railways said in a statement.</p>

<p>"The Ministry of Railways clarifies and reassures passengers that the product used is of international standards and hence, the manufacturer ensures all compliances, both domestic and the targeted countries for export purposes," the statement said.</p>

<p>"Surprisingly, the driver arrived on a different bike, explaining that the one registered with @rapidobikeapp was under servicing. I confirmed my booking through his app and proceeded with the ride."</p>

<p>Midway through the journey, the driver started riding the vehicle with one hand while masturbating with the other. The woman said she did not protest, fearing for her safety as they were in a remote area with no other vehicles around.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“During the journey, we reached a remote area with no other vehicles around. Shockingly, the driver began riding with one hand and engaging in inappropriate behavior (Masturbating while riding the bike). Fearing for my safety, I remained silent throughout the ordeal,” she wrote.</p>

<p>As per the MIT Media Lab's website, AlterEgo captures peripheral neural signals when internal speech articulators are volitionally and neurologically activated, during a user's internal articulation of words.</p>

<p>"This enables a user to transmit and receive streams of information to and from a computing device or any other person without any observable action, in discretion, without unplugging the user from her environment, without invading the user's privacy," the website reads.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A viral video shows Kapur wearing the device, and answering questions in an interview. The interviewer asks Kapur questions and the MIT student responds without uttering a single word. "You have the entire internet in your head," the interviewer said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pakistan’s Geo TV reported that authorities were seen struggling to rescue the monkey on Friday, who was “too small and, therefore, too fast to be easily grabbed.” Dawn reported the monkey was recaptured almost after 20 hours of intense rescue operation by the officials.</p>

<h2><strong>Smugglers fined $350 each</strong></h2>

<p>Both smugglers were later fined 100,000 Pakistani rupees (US$ 350) by the Karachi court. Also, the court directed the wildlife department to hand over the monkeys to Karachi Zoo.</p>

<p>However, the decision was immediately criticised by wildlife department officials because Pakistani zoos are generally notorious for their poor facilities and activists accuse the zoo officials of totally disregarding animal welfare.</p>
