<p>Up to two-thirds of baby foods sold in US grocery stores are unhealthy, claimed a shocking study which sought to draw urgent attention of parents and policymakers to wide-spread use of misleading claims on packaging of these items.</p>

<p>The study done by the George Institute for Global Health found that a staggering 60 per cent of infant and toddler foods failed to meet nutritional recommendations. None of the foods tested met promotional requirements set by World Health Organization (WHO).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The researchers assessed data on 651 infant and toddler food products sold in the top 10 US grocery chains held in the Institute’s FoodSwitch database against global benchmarks.</p>

<p>Out of these, 70 per cent failed to meet protein requirements and 44 per cent exceeded total sugar requirements, said the study published in the journal Nutrients&nbsp;on Wednesday (Aug 21).&nbsp;"A further one in four products did not meet calorie requirements and one in five exceeded recommended sodium limits," the research institute said in a release.</p>

<h2><strong>'Fast food' solutions for babies are a concern</strong></h2>

<p>Researchers brought attention to the concerning rise in popularity of processed convenience foods for infants and young children.</p>

<p>“Early childhood is a crucial period of rapid growth and when taste preferences and dietary habits form, potentially paving the way for the development of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes and some cancers later in life,” said researcher Dr Elizabeth Dunford.</p>

She was particularly concerned about the fat on her stomach, which she was finding hard to lose.</p>

<p>So she chose to undergo liposuction. As per the Hangzhou City Express, Mei underwent the surgery at the Shulan Hangzhou Hospital in Zhejiang province. A doctor from the reproductive medicine department at the hospital, Zhong Chao, told the publication about Mei's intention to lose weight. She told the doctors that she had tried many ways to lose the tummy fat but had failed.</p>

<p>Mei also told them that she was “too much of a perfectionist to allow a little fat on her belly”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The nightmare unfolded after the surgery. Her menstrual cycles stopped, and she grew worried. She went back to the hospital to get herself checked. Dr Zhong found that Mei’s ovaries had atrophied and she would no longer be able to bear children.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This happened because she was left with too little fat around her waist which experts say is necessary to protect the uterus and ovaries. Chen Shihong, a doctor at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, told SCMP that a “little belly” is normal for women.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Mei's case, a decrease in body fat also brought down her oestrogen levels, the female sex hormone, and this led to ovarian dysfunction.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Patna SDM Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar was in civil clothes and was mistakenly hit by the policeman during the lathi charge on the supporters of Bharat Bandh on Wednesday. They boarded an off-duty bus from the Munirka bus stand, in which there were six other men as well. The men shut all the doors of the bus, and the driver started driving off the route. Awindra Pratap found something suspicious and on objection, he was shouted down, and a fight broke out as the other drunk men started molesting the woman. They knocked down her friend with a rod. She was dragged to the back of the bus, where the&nbsp;horrific incident occurred. The driver drove the bus all over Delhi while this incident was happening.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the attack, both of them were thrown out of the bus and left to die at the roadside. The two were found half dead, and as soon as Delhi Police were informed, they were taken to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors said that she was left with only five per cent intestines in her body. The woman succumbed to her injuries on 29 December 2012.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Annabelle has been haunting our screens for years now. But what if we told you there is a supposed real-life Annabelle making the lives of men miserable? According to a New York Post report, the world’s “most haunted doll” is an antique toy that is reportedly possessed by a jilted bride named Elizabeth. It has apparently attacked 17 men till now.</p>

<p>Paranormal investigator Lee Steer owns the doll at the moment, which was bought for nearly $1,000 on eBay. He recalled how the doll terrorised and attacked him in the “bridal doll room” of his museum. He says the doll attack left him with scratches on the back.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Steer says that the doll only attacks men. “People say it hates married men and goes around scratching married men,” said Steer. “I suspect it to be the most haunted doll in the UK.”</p>

<p>He explains that the doll has "moved stuff in the room while his girlfriend, Sarah Carter has been there, but it has only claimed to have scratched a male."</p>

<p>The doll doesn't need her victim to be alone. Steer says he was attacked when he was with his girlfriend, Sarah Carter, and another paranormal investigator. “I was doing an investigation, and I had a burning sensation on my neck,” said Steer. “At first, I didn’t think much about it.”</p>

He recalled that while he was talking to his girlfriend, he felt like someone grabbed his shirt and touched his skin.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then his shirt popped out. “I reacted and it felt like someone had come behind me and pulled my shirt and wanted my attention," he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I kept thinking I was seeing the bridal woman [all night too]," he added. The incident was also caught on camera. Kenny claims he "had seen her too in the corner of my eye in a white dress."</p>

<p>Elizabeth's spirit has apparently also thrown perfume bottles and projected scary words on-screen.</p>

He was shooting a TikTok with his girlfriend, Kymmi Jeffrey, in the bridal doll room when the incident happened. He recalled that while he was talking to his girlfriend, he felt like someone grabbed his shirt and touched his skin. Then his shirt popped out. “I reacted and it felt like someone had come behind me and pulled my shirt and wanted my attention," he said. “I kept thinking I was seeing the bridal woman [all night too]," he added. The incident was also caught on camera. Kenny claims he "had seen her too in the corner of my eye in a white dress." <p>Gilbert says she "sobbed" when she found out that it had a name and that she "wasn't just a bad person".</p>

<p>The actress says feeling guilty for the reactions is a major part of the disorder. "I really just thought that I was rude. And I felt really bad. And guilt, which is an enormous component of misophonia, the guilt that you feel for these feelings of fight or flight. It's a really isolating disorder."</p>

<p>Even her kids bore the brunt of her disorder, and she has never allowed them to have gum.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Menopause, she says, made things worse. She became angry more easily and reacted intensely. "As the estrogen leaked out, the anger seeped in and it started to really affect me on a daily basis with loved ones."</p>

<p>Despite learning about the disorder, she didn't know it was treatable. When she found out last year, she reached out to Duke's Center for Misophonia. They responded saying, "There's help. You're not alone."&nbsp;</p>

<p>A video went viral from the Independence Day celebrations held in the Mungeli district of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, where a pigeon was released by the superintendent of police (SP) in the air, but it failed to fly and instead dropped on the ground.</p>

<p>The pigeons released by the MLA and the collector flew away&nbsp;but the one released by the police officer fell to the ground. However, it was reported that the bird was alive.</p>

<p>The officer was then given another pigeon which flew when it was released.</p>

<p>As reported by PTI, the senior officer was not happy with the events and wrote a letter to the collector as he demanded action against those responsible.</p>

<p>"Had it happened at the hands of the chief guest of the function and honourable MLA, then the situation would have been more unpleasant. Certainly, the officer responsible for this work has not discharged his responsibility properly. Therefore, it is proposed to take disciplinary action against the officer responsible for the incident," he added.</p>

<p>In an attempt to fish out thousands of tonnes of munitions submerged in the depths of water bodies in Switzerland, the authorities have launched a competition to gather ideas.</p>

<p>The three best ideas will share a massive prize pot of&nbsp;50,000 Swiss francs ($57,800), according to a statement published by the Federal Office for Defence Procurement (Armasuisse).&nbsp;The government is looking for ideas that are safe and environmentally friendly.</p>

<p>“With the launching of an idea competition, armasuisse wants to increasingly involve academia and industry in the considerations on how environmentally friendly and safe recovery of deep lake ammunition could be carried out, should this ever become an issue,” read the statement.&nbsp;</p>
