<p>Male performers like David Starr and Impact Wrestling's Joey Ryan issued pacifying statements in response to a wave of allegations of sexual misconduct and then disappeared from social media.</p>

<p>Impact wrestling has fired Joey Ryan. According to WWE, it had released 205 Live and NXT star Jack Gallagher after he was accused of a sexual assault dating back to 2014, though the company did not give details of the reason for that decision. Gallagher is yet to respond to these allegations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The WWE released a statement on the allegations against the performers in the wrestling company. It said: "Individuals are responsible for their own personal actions. WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault.</p>

<p>"Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended. Upon conviction for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately terminated."</p>

<p>"WWE's ability to fine, suspend or terminate a WWE talent will not be, however, limited or compromised in any manner in the event incontrovertible evidence of such illegal misconduct is presented to WWE."&nbsp;</p>

#SpeakingOut: Female wrestling stars speak out on sexual and physical abuse

<p>Drew McIntyre intervened and proposed a triple threat among the heavyweights. The match took off as the bell rang.</p>

<p>Evening started by Miz apologizing for his actions against Kofi Kingston, he justified it by saying that 'It was a bad day.'</p>

<p>Then Miz went on to invite John Morrison, his ex tag team partner as his guest on Miz TV and officially declaring his return to the WWE ring after years of absence. Morrison said that he was disappointed by fans after they turned on The Miz.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bray Wyatt was back with 'The Firefly Funhouse' segment where he said that Daniel Bryan has been naughty, and 'The Fiend' will keep an account of it and return the favour at the Royal Rumble.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bryan was interviewed after it, where he said that he would be hurt but not broken in the royal rumble. He recollected his days with the Wyatt family and the way it changed him. He said it only made him more dangerous.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But the interview was cut short by the puppet of Rumblin' Rabbit who tried to reveal a way to defeat 'The Fiend'. But the Wyatt stopped the video and later on Bryan found the decapitated puppet head in his locker.</p>

<p>In the 'Walk With Elias' segment, Elias took a dig at both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar on entering the Royal Rumble.&nbsp;</p>

WWE SmackDown: John Morrison returns, has Daniel Bryan found The Fiend’s Achilles Heel?

<p>Born on August 14 in Kuala Lumpiur, Malaysia, Nor "Phoenix" Diana cuts an unusual figure by taking on hefty male opponents inside a wrestling ring which is not an ordinary task to pull up in a Muslim dominated place.</p>

<p>At the tender age of 14, she fell in love with wrestling after playing wrestling video games with her brother. She then started watching WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) and decided to pursue the sport.</p>

<p>She followed Malaysia Pro Wrestling on social media, and after a year of contemplating, she finally decided to give it a try and approached Shaukat, the co-founder and head coach of Malaysia Pro Wrestling to train under him.</p>

<p>After two months of training, Diana made her debut as a replacement for a wrestler who did not show up for the show. And since then, there has been no looking back.</p>

<p>She initially wore a mask while wrestling and finally unmasked herself in 2018, much to the surprise of the fans. As of now, Diana is the world's first hijabi pro wrestler in the world, and she is inspiring more from all around the world to follow in her footsteps.</p>

<p>In an interview to WION's Ayushi Agarwal, she opened up about her journey which did not come up that easy.</p>

<p><strong>WION:</strong> Wrestling is all about muscled men, tall and athletic personality. How did you think that your 5:1ft frame could be a fit in a male-dominated sport?</p>

<p><strong>Nor Diana:</strong> Why not? I have a passion, and I don't see any reason why I should not pursue it. My heart wants me to wrestle, and whatever size I might be, I do believe I can contribute in many different ways and forms to the pro wrestling industry to make up for the lack of the standard image.</p>

<p><strong>WION:</strong> Why did you choose to disguise your identity under the name 'Phoenix'? Why did you think of not revealing your identity?</p>

<p><strong>Nor Diana:</strong> For two reasons. I am not comfortable with outsiders knowing my true self, so I use my persona instead; it's similar to how writers use their pen name, and celebrities change their names to a different public name. Secondly, I wasn't sure how the world would react if I showed my true self - a hijabi girl beneath the mask. I was nervous, even scared at times.</p>

<p><strong>WION:</strong> How did you manage in breaking the stereotype in a Muslim majority nation where it is unthinkable and difficult to come up with women pursuing wrestling as their career?</p>

<p><strong>Nor Diana:</strong> I believe that I have the courage to do what I love, despite what everyone says what I can or cannot. I decided not to get pulled down by anyone and appreciate everyone who supports me.</p>

<p><strong>WION:</strong> What kind of reaction did you get pre and post your wrestling events?</p>

She followed Malaysia Pro Wrestling on social media, and after a year of contemplating, she finally decided to give it a try and approached Shaukat, the co-founder and head coach of Malaysia Pro Wrestling to train under him. After two months of training, Diana made her debut as a replacement for a wrestler who did not show up for the show. And since then, there has been no looking back. She initially wore a mask while wrestling and finally unmasked herself in 2018, much to the surprise of the fans. As of now, Diana is the world's first hijabi pro wrestler in the world, and she is inspiring more from all around the world to follow in her footsteps. In an interview to WION's Ayushi Agarwal, she opened up about her journey which did not come up that easy. Here is the full interview: WION: Wrestling is all about muscled men, tall and athletic personality. How did you think that your 5:1ft frame could be a fit in a male-dominated sport? Nor Diana: Why not? I have a passion, and I don't see any reason why I should not pursue it. <p>A hijab-wearing, diminutive Malaysian wrestler known as "Phoenix" cuts an unusual figure in the ring, a female Muslim fighter taking on hulking opponents in a male-dominated world.</p>

<p>Dressed in flame-patterned trousers, a black and orange hijab and top, Nor Diana uses sophisticated moves to throw and pin down her larger rivals in front of hundreds of cheering spectators.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Standing just 155 centimetres (five foot, one inch) tall and weighing 43 kilograms (six stone, 10 pounds), her speed and agility make her a match for almost any opponent.</p>

<p>More than 60 per cent of Malaysia's 32 million people are ethnic Malay Muslims and, while the form of Islam followed is generally moderate and tolerant, society can still be conservative.</p>

<p>Many Muslim women in the country wear the traditional headscarf and loose-fitting clothing in line with Islamic requirements for females to dress modestly.</p>

<p>"In the beginning, it was always hard for me, because a lot of people said I can't wrestle because I'm a Muslim and I wear the hijab," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But she has soldiered on, with her family’s full support, and enjoyed her greatest success so far in early July, defeating four men to be crowned Malaysian wrestling champion.</p>

<p>Initially, she competed wearing a mask, to reduce the chances people would recognise her. But after losing a match last year she removed it and has been competing without one ever since.</p>

<p>She remembered being fearful about the reaction - but her popularity has only increased since, with thousands now following her on social media, helping to boost wrestling's profile in Malaysia.</p>

<p>While it is growing in popularity, wrestling remains relatively small in the Southeast Asian country. There are about 30 fighters and matches take place every two to three months in front of a few hundred supporters.</p>

WWE Live Supershow: Jinder Mahal to face 13-time WWE champion Triple H

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc was sued on Monday by Jimmy &quot;Superfly&quot; Snuka and dozens of other retired male and female wrestlers seeking to hold it responsible for neurological injuries that they claim they suffer from because of having participated in its bouts.<br />

The complaint was filed on behalf of more than 50 plaintiffs who have performed with WWE or its predecessors since the 1970s, including Joseph &quot;Road Warrior Animal&quot; Laurinaitis and Paul &quot;Mr Wonderful&quot; Orndorff.<br />
<br />
It accused Stamford, Connecticut-based WWE and Chairman Vince McMahon of intentionally classifying wrestlers as &quot;independent contractors&quot; rather than employees, as a means to avoid liability under applicable worker protection laws.<br />
<br />
&quot;WWE placed corporate gain over its wrestlers&#39; health, safety, and financial security, choosing to leave the plaintiffs severely injured and with no recourse to treat their damaged minds and bodies,&quot; the complaint said.<br />
<br />
The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages, as well as improved medical monitoring.<br />
<br />
WWE, in a statement, called the lawsuit another attempt to hold it liable by a lawyer who had two earlier lawsuits dismissed and added that &quot;we&#39;re confident this lawsuit will suffer the same fate&quot;.<br />
<br />
WWE has won the dismissal of some claims in other lawsuits accusing it of hiding the risks of head trauma from wrestling.<br />
<br />
The National Football League and National Hockey League have also been sued by retired players over head injuries.<br />

Monday&#39;s complaint was filed with the federal court in New Haven, Connecticut.<br />
<br />
The plaintiffs accused WWE of concealing the risks of the degenerative brain disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy and other traumatic brain injuries attributable to wrestling, including through &quot;scripted&quot; moves it choreographed.<br />

Konstantine Kyros, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, in an email said WWE&#39;s &quot;exploitative business model&quot; kept his clients from learning their rights under laws such as the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act.<br />

According to the complaint, Laurinaitis, 55; Snuka, 72; and Orndorff, 66, suffer from cognitive difficulties including headaches, dizziness and memory loss, while Snuka and Orndorff also experience confusion, depression and mood swings.<br />

The complaint accuses WWE of intentionally classifying them as 'independent contractors' rather than employees to avoid liability

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc was sued on Monday by Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and dozens of other retired male and female wrestlers seeking to hold it responsible for neurological injuries that they claim they suffer from because of having participated in its bouts. The complaint was filed on behalf of more than 50 plaintiffs who have performed with WWE or its predecessors since the 1970s, including Joseph "Road Warrior Animal" Laurinaitis and Paul "Mr Wonderful" Orndorff. It accused Stamford, Connecticut-based WWE and Chairman Vince McMahon of intentionally classifying wrestlers as "independent contractors" rather than employees, as a means to avoid liability under applicable worker protection laws. "WWE placed corporate gain over its wrestlers' health, safety, and financial security, choosing to leave the plaintiffs severely injured and with no recourse to treat their damaged minds and bodies," the complaint said. The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages, as well as improved medical monitoring. WWE, in a statement, called the lawsuit another attempt to hold it liable by a lawyer who had two earlier lawsuits dismissed and added that "we're confident this lawsuit will suffer the same fate". WWE has won the dismissal of some claims in other lawsuits accusing it of hiding the risks of head trauma from wrestling. The National Football League and National Hockey League have also been sued by retired players over head injuries. Monday's complaint was filed with the federal court in New Haven, Connecticut. The plaintiffs accused WWE of concealing the risks of the degenerative brain disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy and other traumatic brain injuries attributable to wrestling, including through "scripted" moves it choreographed. Konstantine Kyros, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, in an email said WWE's "exploitative business model" kept his clients from learning their rights under laws such as the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act. According to the complaint, Laurinaitis, 55; Snuka, 72; and Orndorff, 66, suffer from cognitive difficulties including headaches, dizziness and memory loss, while Snuka and Orndorff also experience confusion, depression and mood swings. The plaintiffs also include former referees and identical twins Earl and Dave Hebner, 66, who according the complaint have experienced cognitive difficulties.
