As per reports, Bella Montoya suddenly woke up during her funeral ceremony and started knocking from inside her coffin after spending five hours in it at a funeral parlour located in Babahoyo, around 129 miles southwest of Quito, on June 9 (Friday).<br />

The health ministry of Ecuador stated that Montoya died from an ischaemic stroke on Friday after spending a week in an intensive care unit at the Martin Icaza Hospital.</p>

Her son Gilberto Barbera Montoya stated that the authorities did not send him any report about what happened and added things “are not going to stay like this”.<br />
<br />
He stated that a formal complaint has been filed by his mother's sister, seeking the identity of the doctor who declared her dead. The hospital which issued the death certificate earlier will be reviewed by a technical committee, stated the country's Ministry of Health last week.</p>

After some time, paramedics arrived at the funeral parlour, placed the woman on a stretcher and rushed her to Martín Icaza Hospital, where she was kept under intensive care.<br />

According to the medical experts, the woman was in a state of catalepsy or cataplexy, which is a condition characterised by “temporary loss of muscle control resulting in weakness and possible collapse”, as per NHS.<br />

In the death certificate, it was noted that the woman died because of “cardiorespiratory arrest due to suffering from an unspecified cerebrovascular disease.”</p>

<p>“Taking matters into her own hands, Senali Sen administered approximately 20 sleeping tablets to her mother on Monday morning. After Biva Pal complained of stomach pain resulting from the ingestion of the pills, she was then strangled to death by her own daughter,” stated a senior official.</p>

<p>After this, the woman stuffed her mother's dead body in a suitcase and also kept a photograph of her late father, and took an Uber Auto to reach the Mico Layout police station&nbsp;where she surrendered before the police.</p>

<p>In a statement, MICO layout Police said, "Body was brought to the police station yesterday and a case has been booked against daughter Senali Sen (39) under Section 302 of IPC along with other sections."</p>

<p>“Her left hand was hitting the side of the coffin, and it was shaking… It gave us all a fright,” Montoya’s son, Gilbert Balberán, told local media, according to Jam Press.</p>

<p>Montoya had died last week from a stroke. Her death certificate declared that she suffered ‘cardiorespiratory arrest due to suffering from an unspecified cerebrovascular disease’, according to BBC.</p>

<p>A doctor on duty had declared her dead after she did not respond to resuscitation, Ecuador’s health ministry said.</p>

<p>Later, the family brought her to a funeral home and were holding a wake on Friday when they started to hear strange sounds.</p>

<p>When they opened the casket, everyone was shocked to find that she was taking a deep breath. A video posted on social media purportedly showed Montoya, a former nurse, breathing in her open coffin and surrounded by two men who came to help her.</p>

<h2><strong>Woman in stable condition</strong></h2>

<p>Montoya was later taken to the same hospital that declared her dead, with her son saying that she is in a stable condition.</p>

<p>“My mother is on oxygen. Her heart is stable,” he declared. “The doctor squeezed her hand, and she reacted. They tell me this is a good sign because it means she is reacting little by little.”</p>

<p>“Now, I only ask that my mother’s health improves,” he added. “I want her alive and by my side.”</p>

<p>Though he described the whole episode as a “miracle from God,” Gilbert says he is “coming to grips with what has happened.”</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Ecuador’s Ministry of Health launched a probe against the unnamed doctors involved in the case, and has assigned a technical team to investigate how did the hospital erroneously issue a death certificate.</p>

<p>The diagnosis was earth-shattering and beyond Eason's imagination as she had just graduated from college.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It just shattered,” Eason said, while speaking about her “one-in-a-million” happening. “I felt this immense pain and it was almost like a pop — it was really traumatic," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Eason was informed by the doctors that she needs to undergo both a knee and thighbone replacement because of the tumour.</p>

<p>"I was heartbroken - I used to dance, run and swim and thought I would never be able to do those things again. At that moment in time you don't see a way out - I was told when I had surgery that 99 per cent of patients wouldn't have full mobility after surgery," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Various charges were levied against activist Rehana Fathima under provisions of the POCSO, Juvenile Justice and the Information Technology (IT) Acts for sharing a video in which she was seen posing semi-nude in front of her minor, permitting them to paint on her naked body.</p>

<p>Justice Kauser Edappagath, discharging the activist from the case, &nbsp;said that the allegations fail to infer that her children were used for any simulated or real sexual acts, especially for sexual gratification.</p>

<p>The court stated that she only permitted her children to use her body as a canvas to paint on.</p>

<p>The activist, in her appeal, stated that the body painting was a political statement against society's default view that the female's naked upper body is sexualised in all contexts, whereas the male's naked upper body is not seen as default sexualisation.</p>

<p>Agreeing with Fathima's contentions, Justice Edappagath stated that children painting on the mother's upper body as an art project "cannot be characterised as a real or simulated sexual act nor can it be said that the same was done for the purpose of sexual gratification or with sexual intent".</p>

<p>The judge stated that it was "harsh" to term such an "innocent artistic expression" as a way to use a child in a simulated or real sexual act.</p>

<p>"There is nothing to show that the children were used for pornography. There is no hint of sexuality in the video. Painting on the naked upper body of a person, whether a man or a woman, cannot be stated to be a sexually explicit act," the court stated.&nbsp;</p>

Saudi officials accused Otaibi, among other things, of using the hashtag #societyisready to push for an end to male guardianship regulations.</p>

<p>Otaibi is still being held without being convicted or punished. Previously, public demands for core women's rights, such as inheritance rights and the opportunity to leave a marriage with an abusive spouse, have been ruled seditious.</p>

<p>The case is the latest in a series of arrests and imprisonments of Saudis for using social media profiles to promote change or question Saudi authorities. Salma al-Shehab, a Saudi woman and former PhD student at Leeds University, was condemned to more than three decades in prison by a terrorist court for having a Twitter account and following and retweeting dissidents and activists.</p>

<p>A Chinese woman has been sued by a restaurant for $6,500 (Rs 5.3 lakh) as compensation for stashing her leftover food in her handbag and for wasting food by overordering, as per a report by the South China Morning Post.&nbsp;The woman visited the restaurant five times over the course of two weeks in August 2022 in the Guizhou region of southwest China, according to the restaurant manager who reviewed CCTV footage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She covertly put leftovers into plastic bags, which she cunningly stashed in her handbag, after ordering more food than she could reasonably consume. The management asserts that this was not an isolated incidence because the woman had been frequenting the eatery regularly since March 2021.</p>

<p>Even though the cost per person was 218 yuan (about Rs 2,500), SCMP claims that Wen often bought more than 10,000 yuan (roughly Rs 1.1 lakh) worth of food, which was 10 times more than what most customers would typically consume at the buffet.&nbsp;As per reports, the restaurant has a policy in place that prohibits customers cannot take leftover food outside the premises.</p>

<p>Chen, the restaurant owner, claims that the woman also exclusively ordered pricey meals including salmon, goose liver, and sweet prawns.</p>

<p>On&nbsp;one bill, the woman paid for 140 servings of meat and dessert, as well as 45 servings of three sweet shrimps for 48 yuan (about Rs. 567) apiece and 20 servings of three salmon sashimi for 38 yuan (roughly Rs. 449 each).</p>

<p>However, the restaurant owner sued her and demanded compensation of about 45,000 yuan (Rs 5.31 lakh) for the five instances in which she overindulged.</p>

49-year-old Rubia Daniels became interested in the properties when she learned that they are being offered by the country at a low cost to repopulate deserted villages located in remote areas.</p>

The three empty properties were bought by the woman for only $1.10 each by the end of her 10-day tour to Mussomeli which is a small village in Sicily in July 2019.</p>

<p>A 95-year-old woman, who is a patient with dementia, suffered life-threatening injuries after she was tasered by a police officer at a care home in Australia.<br />

The woman was admitted to the hospital. Police officers reached Yallambee Lodge in Cooma after they received reports of Clare Nowland carrying a knife.<br />
<br />
The incident sparked an outcry as advocates called the action of police officers a “disproportionate response”. The New South Wales (NSW) police chief stated that she shares the concerns raised by the community and that an investigation is going on.<br />
<br />
The police officers found Nowland in her room "armed" with a steak knife on Wednesday morning, said Assistant Police Commissioner Peter Cotter, while speaking to media on Friday.</p>

<p>Her family has been grieving about the injuries she has suffered and fear that the woman may not survive, Thaler said while speaking to the BBC.<br />
<br />
"The family are shocked, they're confused... and the community is outraged. How can this happen? How do you explain this level of force? It's absurd,” he added.<br />
<br />
Community groups, which include People with Disability Australia (PwD) and NSW Council for Civil Liberties, have criticised the response of the police.<br />
<br />
"She's either one hell of an agile, fit, fast and intimidating 95-year-old woman, or there's a very poor lack of judgement (from) those police officers," said PwD President Nicole Lee while speaking to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.<br />
<br />
"She needed somebody to... handle her with compassion and time, and not Tasers,” he added.<br />
<br />
An investigation into the critical incident has been launched by NSW Police which Commissioner Karen Webb stated is being treated with "the utmost seriousness".</p>

<p>"I understand and share the community concerns," she stated.</p>

<p>She added that the surgeon had used alcohol to preserve the part of the knee for a longer period. A week later, Gonu and her partner were joking about the preserved knee, and then she thought of cooking her own knee.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I told him I wanted to eat it because it was part of me and I had to put it back in my body. Then I made a Bolognese and put it in and we ate it," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She further described how the dish was prepared by her and how the cartilage was added to the sauce before she ate it with her boyfriend.</p>

<p>As soon as the plane landed, the female passenger was rushed to the hospital and immediately provided the required medical treatment, informed Air India.</p>

<p>"Upon landing, the said passenger was attended by the doctor at the airport and subsequently was treated at the hospital and discharged. Our officials accompanied the passenger to the hospital and offered all support to the passenger till discharge," said an Air India spokesperson.</p>

<p>After the engineering team of Air India was informed about the incident, it carried out a thorough inspection of the aeroplane. The scorpion was caught hold of, after which a due fumigation process was carried out.</p>

<p>"Our team followed the protocol and conducted a complete inspection of the aircraft and found the scorpion after which due fumigation process was carried out. We sincerely regret the agony and inconvenience caused to the passenger," stated Air India.</p>

<p>She faced&nbsp;a lot of challenges in the beginning as she was entering a profession dominated by men. And it was not the team she worked with but the people on the ground which were a challenge to her. The people never at first believed that she was leading the team and always ignored her till they would see her rescue the animal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>''Every parent in the valley wanted their girl child to either become a doctor or go into teaching. It is considered nice for girls to go into these two professions and my family wanted the same for me. But fortunately, I got married to a veterinarian and through him I got a chance to explore this field. I started to volunteer, and it seemed that I was destined to do wildlife rescue. I got the chances, and I utilised them in the best possible way. I am so content by doing this work, at the end of the day you are happy that you have been able to save a life, no matter how small or big. This work gives me a lot of happiness and satisfaction, '' said Mir.</p>

<p dir="ltr">''Urbanisation is happening at a very fast speed and then development. We are not against development, but we are advocating sustainable development. We are not against tourism, but we support eco-tourism. I am supervising two research projects too; I don't only do rescue but also research. I am running two centres and supervising research projects in Kashmir. What we saw was due to tourism, there is a huge change in our environment, we need to handle tourism in a better way. Brown bear was a dream to see in the valley, but now you put out some waste outside and you will see a brown bear, why is this happening? Waste management is a failure, all wild animals get attracted to the waste. Leopards come as they see a lot of dogs near the waste dumps. That's why leopards are roaming in cities and not jungles. We are doing multi-cropping in the paddy fields and that's why wild animals like bears come to these areas." she added.</p>

<p>Aaliya was given a Wildlife Conservation award by the Jammu and Kashmir government for her exceptional efforts in conservation of wildlife. Aaliya is the first woman in the region to receive this award.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticised the "cowardly silence" of Russians over the attack, adding that messages of sympathy were sent to Kyiv from different countries over "this terror."&nbsp;</p>
