Speaking during a show on the Pakistan news channel A Sports, Akram said: “Rest of the world versus India would be fair. Total domination in all three aspects of the game be it batting, bowling or fielding. No matter if they bat first or field first. Complete control in all these aspects of the game. Chasing a mediocre total of 230, England reached 30 in no time, with both openers finding gaps at will. Just when it looked like England would walk away with their second win in this tournament, Bumrah picked up two wickets in successive balls, removing David Malan and Joe Root.&nbsp;

That was the beginning of the end of the England innings, as they got reduced to 52 for five soon after. Shami removed Moeen Ali, while Kuldeep Yadav trapped Liam Livingstone in the middle to end England’s hopes of making any comeback in the match.

<h2>Special Bumrah amazes Akram</h2>

Besides delivering perfect Yorkers, Bumrah is as lethal with the new ball as any in modern-day cricket. His ability to make the new ball talk both ways, mostly while bowling from around the wicket to the left-handers, makes it almost impossible for them to play him, let alone attack.&nbsp;

Comparing himself to Bumrah, Akram noted, even he didn’t have the same control as Bumrah.

“When I used to bowl outswingers like that to right-handed batters with the new ball, sometimes I couldn’t control the ball also. But Bumrah definitely has better control with the new ball than myself,” Wasim said with a smile.

“The length where he bowls with the new ball is what creates uncertainty for the batters,” he added.

It looks like they are eating 8 kg of mutton every day."

“Now, there is no fitness test. When Misbah was the coach and selector, he used to get the Yo-Yo Test and other tests done. A professional cricketer should undergo a fitness test at least once in a month. If you won't do this, you will face this (defeat vs India)," Akram said on a Pakistan TV show.

He even went on to say that because of ongoing tensions behind the scenes in PCB, there was a lot of unrest in the dressing room, resulting in them failing to deliver on the big day.

Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Pakistan got off to a good start. Though both openers got out inside the first 12 overs, Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan steadied the ship with an 82-run stand. However, the Indian bowlers inflicted crucial blows, triggering a collapse&nbsp;and reducing them from 155 for two to 191 all out.

“Look at his record. He has got seven World Cup hundreds in just 19 innings. The great Sachin Tendulkar scored 6 in 44 innings. Sangakkara had five in 35 innings, and Ponting scored five centuries in 42 innings. So, to get seven centuries so quickly in World Cups is phenomenal,” Akram added.

The Indian Team batted first in Colombo, and unlike the last time, they began well against the best bowling line-up in the tournament. Though Afridi went for runs despite getting little swing, Shah was on point, keeping it tight from one end.

India’s opening pair, which in the previous outing, got reduced to 66 for four at one stage after winning the toss, stitched a 121-run stand. Both Gill and Rohit scored respective fifties but lost wickets in quick intervals.

Rain interrupted play in Colombo, with the scorecard reading 147 for two in 24.1 overs. Virat Kohli and returning KL Rahul are at the crease, batting at eight and 17, respectively.

Meanwhile, for India to cruise ahead into the final, they must win at least two of the three games in the Super Four stage. Following the Pakistan ODI, India will face Sri Lanka on September 12 and Bangladesh on September 15.

In a significant landmark in the league’s history, the fourth season saw an impressive jump of more than 160% in TV reach compared to the last edition and it also garnered 359 million digital reach to make the LPL 2023 a blockbuster.&nbsp;“I think the Lanka Premier League was great this year. Everywhere in the world, people were very keen to watch this league. It’s all over the world and IPG Group has done a great job in ensuring that,” commented SL great Jayasuriya, who was also the Director of Cricket for Dambulla Aura.

While both the cricket legends praised the quality of cricket that was displayed, Samantha Dodanwela, Tournament Director, thanked LPL 2023 and all the sponsors for contributing to the growth of the Sri Lankan economy in terms of revenue and foreign investments.&nbsp;

The Asia Cup 2023 edition is set to kick off on August 30 in Multan, Pakistan. The upcoming edition of the continental tournament will be jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan and the whole cricketing fraternity is eagerly waiting for the tournament's commencement, mainly to witness the resumption of India-Pakistan rivalry.

Talking about the 2023 edition, India, Pakistan and Nepal are placed in Group A whereas Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are in Group B. Ahead of the tournament-opener, where Babar Azam &amp; Co. host Nepal, former Pakistan great Wasim Akram opened up on the favourites for the multi-nation competition and feels every team has a chance.

"India versus Pakistan is very important, we know about so much support (teams get), so many eyeballs, so many people (following). But other teams are also here to play so you cannot minus Sri Lanka or Bangladesh," Akram said, as quoted by PTI.

Akram also reacted to PCB's earlier stance of boycotting the World Cup after India decided not to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming Asia Cup tournament. The regional tournament will now be played under a hybrid model with only four games to be played in Pakistan and rest shifting to Sri Lanka (including all of India's games.)

"I'm all for ego. If you have an understanding of the situation then speak on the matter, by all means, but also learn to move on. There is no point in saying 'we will do this if that doesn't happen'. Try to judge whether you can back your claims and only then make those claims. We are all patriotic but at the end of the day, this is just a game," he added.

Talking about Pakistan's matches, the Men in Green start their campaign against a qualifying team on October 6 in Hyderabad. The team will also play their second match against another qualifying team on October 12 in Hyderabad as well. Their next match is probably the biggest fixture of the World Cup - vs India on October 15 in Ahmedabad.
