One of the deportees has now claimed that they were handcuffed and their legs were chained during the flight.
"Our legs were chained and hands were also cuffed," Daljit Singh told reporters in Hoshiarpur, according to news agency PTI.
A C-17 aircraft landed at Amritsar International Airport around 11:40 pm on Saturday, carrying the second batch of 119 Indian deportees from the US. This deportation is part of the Donald Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigrants, which began earlier this month. The first batch of 104 Indians was deported on February 5, and a third batch of 157 deportees is expected to arrive in India on Sunday (Feb 17).
The treatment being given to the deportees has become the centre of intense criticism.

Following this, buses full of Palestinian prisoners departed the Israeli-run Ofer Prison.
They were greeted by a cheering crowd in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. According to some reports, as many as 369 Palestinian prisoners and detainees would eventually be released on Saturday after Hamas handed over the three Israeli hostages.
Many of the freed Palestinians were immediately transferred to hospitals as they were in poor health, according to the reports.
"Our teams are transferring four released (Palestinian) prisoners from the location of reception to the hospital," the Palestine Red Crescent Society said in a statement.
The release comes after the Palestinian militant group on Thursday (Feb 13) reaffirmed its commitment to releasing Israeli hostages held in Gaza under a timeline set out in a ceasefire deal for the territory.
"Hamas confirms continuation in implementing the agreement in accordance with what was signed, including the exchange of prisoners (Israeli hostages) according to the specified timetable," the group said in a statement.&nbsp;
Just days before, the deal between Israel and Hamas seemed on shaky ground. Hamas made it clear they wouldn't back down from threats made by Israel and the US, amid disagreements over how the truce would actually work.
Trump warned that "all hell" would break loose and he would further call an end to the truce deal if the hostages weren't released on Saturday. &nbsp;
"Israel will now have to decide what they will do about the 12:00 O&rsquo;CLOCK, TODAY, DEADLINE imposed on the release of ALL HOSTAGES. The United States will back the decision they make!" Trump wrote after Saturday's swap was completed.
Netanyahu's office said: "President Trump's firm stance led to the release of three of our hostages today, despite Hamas previously refusing to release them."

He added: "Europe will not cower and hide, but instead be a constructive and assertive partner."

Europe and the US are linked by "a long history of friendship and partnership" which he called "a stable foundation" for future relations, he added.
Trump had already announced a number of policy measures "which we will, of course, analyse in detail together with our European partners", Scholz said.
The meeting between both leaders came on the 62nd anniversary of the Elysee Treaty, a framework for French-German bilateral relations after World War II.
"Our couple is solid," said Macron.

His administration also announced plans to review and rescind Biden's 2024 US Global Health Security Strategy, which was aimed at preventing, detecting and responding to the contagions, and infectious disease threats "as soon as practicable."
The move is significant, as the US is the WHO's largest financial contributor, providing around 18 per cent of its total funding.

At the end of the rally, Trump danced alongside the disco band Village People as they performed their 1970s hit "Y.M.C.A.," which was the US president-elect's unofficial anthem for his election campaign.
Trump's hour-long speech highlighted his stance on immigration.
"We're going to stop the invasion of our borders," he said.

This includes an order to ban "transgender insanity", and critical race theory from schools and to keep trans athletes out of women's sports.
