Former reality television personality Josh Duggar was convicted by a jury in Arkansas on Thursday on federal charges relating to downloading and viewing photos and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, the U.S. Justice Department said.

Duggar, known for the TLC reality TV show '19 Kids and Counting' which focused on his parents and their 19 children, was convicted on two criminal charges. Duggar, 33, tried to hide his actions by using a password-protected partition on the hard drive of a desktop computer he kept at his used car sales lot, prosecutors said.

The show was suspended in 2015 after news broke that Duggar had molested five girls including four of his sisters. He issued a statement at the time admitting to his actions and resigned his post at a conservative advocacy group, but did not face criminal charges relating to that matter.

"Today`s verdict sends a message that we will track down and prosecute people who download and view child sexual abuse material, regardless of the lengths they go to conceal their conduct," Kenneth Polite, the assistant attorney general at the Justice Department`s Criminal Division, said in a statement.

Justin Gelfand, a lawyer for Duggar, said: "We appreciate the jury`s lengthy deliberations, we respect the jury`s verdict, and we intend to appeal."

A sentencing date for Duggar has not yet been set. He could face between five and 20 years in prison for receiving child sexual abuse materials, and he could face up to 20 for possessing the materials.

Law enforcement officials first detected his activities during an undercover investigation into online file-sharing activities and later searched the premises of his used car sales lot in November 2019. He was charged in April.
The show '19 Kids and Counting' delved into the religious values and beliefs of his parents, including their opposition to birth control, their preference to home-school their children and their strict rules about dating, which entailed chaperoning their daughters through courtship and banning them from kissing until marriage.

Anushka Sharma's message for Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal confirms this rumour The people's princess selected her own engagement ring, although the royal rings are custom made, she selected her blue sapphire from the Garrard jewellery collection catalogue. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Katrina Kaif (@katrinakaif) × Choosing her ring was not well taken by the royal family back then, as it gave everyone access to purchase the same ring. By their standards, the ring "wasn't considered unique and also wasn't bespoke." Perhaps this was the first step Diana took in becoming the "People's Princess." The pictures also give a close look at Katrina's mangalsutra, from the pictures, we see black and gold beads chain with two small diamonds. The small necklace is from Sabyasachi. The couple tied the knot according to Hindi rituals in the presence of close family and friends. Sharing the pictures, the couple wrote, ''Only love and gratitude in our hearts for everything that brought us to this moment. Seeking all your love and blessings as we begin this new journey together. 🙏🏽❤️.'' The pre-wedding festivities commenced on December 7. The couple had their mehendi, followed by haldi and sangeet on December 8.

Some of the people who handled guns on the set of Alec Baldwin's movie 'Rust may face criminal charges in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer, the New Mexico district attorney said on Friday.

Mary Carmack-Altwies said in a statement that she had not made any decision yet on charges but that everyone involved "in the handling and use of firearms on the set had a duty to behave in a manner such that the safety of others was protected."

Alec Baldwin says wife Hilaria gave him 'a reason to live' in a heartfelt note

Once the investigation is complete "certain individuals may be criminally culpable for his/her actions and/or inactions on the set of `Rust`," she added.

Carmack-Altwies gave no indication when the investigation might conclude. Her statement followed a television interview on Thursday by Baldwin, who was holding the gun when it fired a live bullet and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza during a rehearsal in October on a ranch near Santa Fe.

Baldwin said in the interview that he did not believe he was responsible for Hutchins`s death and that he did not think he would be criminally charged. The actor had been told by a crew member that the gun was safe.

"I feel someone is responsible for what happened, but I know it isn`t me. I might have killed myself if I thought I was responsible, and I don`t say that lightly," Baldwin told ABC television`s George Stephanopoulos in his first public comments on the accident.

"I`ve been told by people in the know... that it is highly unlikely I would be charged with anything criminally," said Baldwin, who has been interviewed by the investigators.

Baldwin said that as an actor he was not responsible for checking the gun, or what it was loaded with. He also said he did not pull the trigger but the revolver fired as he cocked the gun while practising a shot.

"I let go of the hammer of the gun and it goes off," he said in Thursday`s interview.

Authorities in Santa Fe have been focusing their attention on how live bullets found their way onto the set.
An attorney for armourer Hannah Gutierrez, who was in charge of weapons, has said she checked the gun before it was handed to Baldwin by assistant director Dave Halls, who shouted that it was "cold" or safe.

It was a "kid in a candy store" moment for Billie Essco when he found himself in a cavernous space beneath the Louvre Museum in January last year, backstage before a show for fashion designer Virgil Abloh`s luxury streetwear label Off-White.

Essco, a 31-year-old Black American artist, musician and clothing designer from Buffalo, New York had made a last-minute decision to join his friend, rapper Westside Gunn, on a trip to Paris with hopes of sneaking into a show during Fashion Week.

He never would have dreamt of hanging out with Abloh, who besides being the founder of Off-White, was the menswear designer for Louis Vuitton - the world`s biggest luxury brand owned by French giant LVMH.

"I`ve been channelling this man, his energy and his designs for the last five years and now I`m here seeing things that the world hasn`t seen yet," said Essco, also known as Uptown Chase.

"Fashion was such a closed-knit, niche thing, it was a kind of insider, `if you know, you know` -- I believe that Virgil opened it up for people like me to come in, into this community."

Abloh, fashion`s highest-profile Black designer, died on Sunday at just 41 after a private battle with a rare form of cancer. As recently as July he had been promoted to work across LVMH`s 75 brands.

Fellow creative directors at rival groups, from Gucci`s Alessandro Michele to Donatella Versace, have praised his vision. A tribute nL1N2SL3V8 runway show of his final collection, held in Miami on Tuesday, drew a high-profile crowd including his long-time friend, musician and fashion designer Ye - formerly known as Kanye West - and LVMH billionaire boss Bernard Arnault.

But for people like Essco, skateboarding teenagers in his home city of Chicago and orphaned West African refugees in Paris playing for a French amateur football team in Abloh-designed T-shirts, his name and influence resonated well beyond the traditional, rarefied world of luxury.

`SPARKS AND FLAIR`

A first-generation Ghanaian American, Abloh - who also worked as a DJ and visual artist - was not a classically trained designer. He often said he drew inspiration from what he saw in the street.

Essco, who studied fashion design at Buffalo State College, had followed Abloh`s rise over the years and appreciated how he brought together hip-hop culture and fashion, breaking boundaries at a time when styles were mostly clean-cut and traditional, and lacking "sparks and flair".

Abloh`s early work applying large print logos to Ralph Lauren flannel shirts echoed with Essco, who was at the time experimenting with screen printing on garments sourced from local second-hand shops. Later, after founding Off-White, the designer reposted an image of a model in a hoodie that Essco had styled on Instagram.

"I realized myself through following him as a person, and as a man, it just taught me that I wasn`t crazy, and I could be exactly who I wanted to be - I could be from the hood, but college educated," said Essco.

He described Abloh`s approach as "creating a space where you can all be in the room instead of having to pick a side - because we come from a place where you choose to do one thing and that`s it, you`ve got to stick with it".

During his January 2020 trip to Paris, Abloh offered Gunn and Essco invitations to his label`s catwalk show, after-parties and the highly coveted Louis Vuitton show.

"To see not only how human he was but how similar he was to my friends, and to myself, I was like, ah, we could do this – not only could we do this, but finally, it`s being done," he said.
