Telangana Fire and Disaster Response Director General Vikram Singh Mann on Sunday said all five bodies of those trapped in the Nampally furniture godown fire have been recovered and termed the incident a "clear case of criminal negligence," adding that legal action will be initiated as per the law. "As we were informed yesterday, five people were trapped. So we have recovered all five bodies. The first body was recovered this morning at around 9:15, and just now, the fifth body has also been recovered. All the bodies have been sent to Osmania Hospital," Mann said. Explaining the circumstances that led to the tragedy, the DG Mann said the victims were workers who had been provided accommodation in the building's basement. "They were working here and were given accommodation in the basement. So two of them were trying to rescue the others. But unfortunately, they also got trapped. This basement is only meant for parking vehicles," he said. Mann said the rescue and firefighting operations were delayed as the basement was packed with highly flammable material. "One of the reasons why it took us so much time to clear the area, extinguish the fire and recover the bodies is that this entire basement was filled with all kinds of materials. It was highly flammable. Despite all this, by using maximum resources and equipment, we managed to extinguish the fire and bring these people out," he said. Calling the incident serious, Mann said, "This is definitely a clear case of negligence. This is actually criminal negligence. And now, as per the law, legal action will be taken." Meanwhile, Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed shock and grief over the incident and condoled the deaths. He said the matter has been brought to the notice of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and assured support to the affected families. Telangana: Stray dog bites crude bomb wrapped in cloth, dies on railway track

At least 19 people lost their lives and several others were injured after a truck carrying a load of gravel crashed into an RTC bus coming from the opposite side at Mirjaguda on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway, near Chevella in Rangareddy district of Telangana, on Monday.&nbsp;Chevella ACP B Kishan said that the RTC bus, which started at Tandur, was supposed to reach Chevella. "The truck was carrying a load of gravel. As of now, we can confirm that 16 people, including the truck driver and several bus passengers, died in the accident," the ACP said.&nbsp;While investigating the incident, Rajendranagar DCP Yogesh Goutam confirmed that the truck was in the right lane when it rammed into the bus. "We have to verify whether the accident occurred while the truck driver was attempting to overtake or if he was driving in the wrong direction," the DCP said.&nbsp;He added that there were 40 passengers in the bus at the time of the incident, and after the collision, the load of gravel in the truck fell on the passengers. "The accident occurred on the Bijapur highway. We are removing the bodies and the injured from the bus and shifting them to hospitals. Traffic is being diverted on both sides," the DCP said.<h3>PM Modi announces ex-gratia for the deceased and injured</h3>In response to the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on his social media platform X, “The loss of lives due to a mishap in the Rangareddy district of Telangana is deeply saddening. Gaush Alam, Superintendent of Police, Mulugu, confirmed to the media that no one was left behind,&nbsp;claiming that&nbsp;more than 90 per cent of tourists were completely fine.&nbsp;

He said, “Rescue work has been completed. A total of 80 stranded tourists have been rescued from the Mutyala Dhara waterfall. We verified with every group and no one is left behind now. They have been given water and medical services. One boy got a minor scorpion bite and he has been treated. 90 per cent of tourists' health is fine."

The district administration shared a video showing the tourists being given medical assistance and food items.

The rains are occurring due to a well-marked low pressure in the northwest Bay of Bengal, triggering heavy rains and gusty winds in the state.
