Valentine's week kicked off early for the dynamic duo, as NFL superstar Travis Kelce gave Taylor Swift a dazzling surprise. According to reports, he gifted a diamond bracelet worth $6,000 to the singer. Swift flaunted the custom diamond friendship bracelet at the AFC Championship game.

At the game, Taylor was seen donning a red-and-black ensemble that caught the eyes of keen observers. However, the real showstopper was the diamond friendship bracelet on her wrist, spelling out "TNT" in a playful nod to the couple's initials.

Crafted with more than 4 carats of diamonds, this custom piece is part of Wove's collaboration with professional golfer Michelle Wie West. A similar version of the bracelet with three letters, identical to Swift's, is available for $5,680.

Now when you search for Taylor Swift, you will not be met with a blank page on X platform. The social media platform had disabled searches for Taylor Swift after the pop star became a victim of deepfake pornography over the weekend. Explicit images of Taylor Swift popped up on the platform as you searched for her. As a result, X and other platforms where this cyber attack took place, had disabled all searches for her.

The platforms have also wiped all results for “Taylor Swift nude” or “Taylor Swift AI.”

In a statement, X said, “Search has been re-enabled and we will continue to be vigilant for any attempt to spread this content and will remove it if we find it.” The statement was published on The Hollywood Reporter website.

On the same, SAG-AFTRA issued a statement, noting that they “are upsetting, harmful, and deeply concerning. The development and dissemination of fake images — especially those of a lewd nature — without someone’s consent must be made illegal. As a society, we have it in our power to control these technologies, but we must act now before it is too late. SAG-AFTRA continues to support legislation by Congressman Joe Morelle, the Preventing Deepfakes of Intimate Images Act, to make sure we stop exploitation of this nature from happening again. We support Taylor, and women everywhere who are the victims of this kind of theft of their privacy and right to autonomy.”

Taylor Swift search re-enabled after being taken down by X over deepfake porno images

The ongoing cyber attack on Taylor Swift has shaken the world. Every time you search for Taylor Swift on X and other social media platforms, what pops up are deepfake pornographic images of the celebrated singer much to the dislike of her fans and internet users in general. This attack has boldened the need to criminalise the practice in which artificial intelligence is used to synthesise fake but convincing explicit imagery.

Having started from Telegram and then to X, Taylor Swift’s search has been littered with pornographic images of hers. These images have now been removed from various platforms but only after they were viewed millions of times. In a statement, X said, “Our teams are actively removing all identified images and taking appropriate action against the accounts responsible for posting them.”

Meanwhile, calls for legislation that restricts online users from doing so have been growing. Yvette D Clarke, a Democratic congresswoman for New York, wrote on X: “What’s happened to Taylor Swift is nothing new. For yrs, women have been targets of deepfakes [without] their consent. And [with] advancements in AI, creating deepfakes is easier & cheaper. This is an issue both sides of the aisle & even Swifties should be able to come together to solve.”

Some individual US states have their own legislation against deepfakes, but there is a growing push for a change to federal law.

In May 2023, Democratic congressman Joseph Morelle unveiled the proposed Preventing Deepfakes of Intimate Images Act. This act aimed at making it illegal to share deepfake pornography without consent.

Republican congressman Tom Kean Jr said, “It is clear that AI technology is advancing faster than the necessary guardrails. Whether the victim is Taylor Swift or any young person across our country, we need to establish safeguards to combat this alarming trend.”

Growing calls for change in law as Taylor Swift gets embroiled in deepfake pornographic images

The entire internet erupted with anger after doctored pictures of Taylor Swift started circulating on different social media platforms. Earlier this week, Swift's pornographic images showing the singer in a very objectionable position during a Kansas City Chiefs game went viral, which triggered a massive backlash.

Presumably, to prevent people from searching for Taylor's images, it seems like X (formally Twitter) has taken a few steps. Amidst all this, a few changes have been made to the micro-blogging site and one change that netizens have found out is that they are not able to search Taylor Swift on the platform.

Fake explicit Taylor Swift images swamp social media

Swiftie Bilal Ilyas Jhandir, 20, from Pakistan, has secured a coveted spot in the Guinness World Records by breaking the record for identifying the most Taylor Swift songs in a minute. The announcement was made on January 26, marking a momentous occasion for the dedicated Taylor Swift fan.

Bilal successfully named an impressive 34 randomly listed hits from Taylor Swift's top 50 best-selling songs, surpassing the previous record held by UK radio host Dan Simpson, who identified 27 tracks in 2019.

The challenging task involved recognising the initial lyrics of Taylor Swift's hits, which were read aloud in monotone by a man. Notably, the lyrics were not accompanied by any music, making the feat even more impressive. Describing himself as a "die-hard" Taylor Swift fan, Bilal shared, "I have listened to each and every song of hers. I can identify almost any song of hers from the lyrics."

To prepare for this remarkable feat, Bilal dedicated a 13-week-long period to extensive listening sessions, immersing himself in Taylor Swift's extensive discography. His commitment was such that he even recited lyrics while sleeping.

Despite finding the task challenging, Bilal considered it "easy" due to his regular listening habits and natural memorisation of Taylor Swift's lyrics. Proudly embracing the title of 'Officially Amazing Swiftie,' Bilal expressed his admiration for the pop singer and deemed breaking the record the "best way on Earth" to showcase his love for the artist.

Having been a fan of Taylor Swift since the age of 13, Bilal considers "Folklore" to be his favourite album, appreciating the artist's authenticity and the emotional depth of her lyrics. In his post-record achievement comments, Bilal acknowledged Swift's ability to touch listeners' hearts through her music.

This success adds to Bilal's list of accomplishments, as he already holds two other Guinness World Record titles. In 2021, he achieved the record for identifying the most animals (23) from their sounds in one minute. In 2023, he secured another record by identifying the most Justin Bieber songs (29) from their lyrics in a minute.

Taylor Swift's AI pictures spark fury

A Seattle man who police say has been stalking and harassing Taylor Swift was ordered held without bail Thursday after he was arrested three times in recent days in front of the pop star’s home in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighbourhood.

David Crowe, 33, was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on a misdemeanour charge of second-degree criminal contempt, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office. He was also ordered to undergo a psychiatric exam.

Prosecutors said Crowe violated a protective order issued Wednesday mandating he stay away from Swift and her home and refrain from any communication with her.

Crowe was arrested Wednesday by officers responding to complaints of an emotionally disturbed man acting erratically near Swift’s townhouse. He was arraigned and issued the protection order, but a short time later he was arrested again near Swift’s residence.

Court documents say an unidentified security worker had spotted Crowe near the singer’s home about 30 times since Nov. 25. Crowe was asked about 10 times not to approach the building or to leave, according to prosecutors.

New York County Defender Services, which is representing Crowe, declined to comment Thursday. “We have no additional statement,” spokesperson Lupe Todd-Medina wrote in an email. “We rely on the statements made in court today.”

Man arrested outside Taylor Swift’s NYC home held without bail for violating protective order

A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly attempting to break into Taylor Swift's Tribeca apartment in New York City. According to a report, the New York Police Department responded to a call about a "disorderly person" on Franklin Street, where officers were informed that the individual had attempted to open a door to a building at the location, as confirmed by a NYPD spokesperson.

While police did not confirm the suspect's identity or explicitly state that he was trying to enter Swift's residence, eyewitnesses claimed otherwise. One witness recounted seeing the individual around 1 p.m., going up to Taylor Swift's door. The witness was unsure if the man had knocked or rang the doorbell. This eyewitness also revealed that the suspect had been seen in the neighbourhood, particularly around Swift's residence, for several weeks.

A second source, residing nearby, shared exclusively with Page Six that they had observed the same man "lurking here for a month," engaging in disruptive behaviour such as sleeping on the stoop, chain-smoking, shouting, and making everyone uncomfortable. The neighbour claimed to have called the police multiple times, with no significant action taken until the suspect attempted to break into the building.

Upon police arrival at approximately 1:45 p.m. ET, officers engaged in a civil conversation with the alleged stalker before taking him into custody. The bearded individual, with shaggy brown hair, was photographed during the booking process wearing a tan hoodie, khaki pants, a navy blue jacket, and tan gloves.

Police reported that the suspect was taken into custody due to an unrelated active warrant for his arrest. As of now, he remains in custody, according to Page Six.

Reps of the pop star have not reacted to the incident, as of now.

The pop superstar is still in NYC and she is expected to attend her boyfriend Travis Kelce's game against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in upstate New York on Sunday.

This incident is not the first time Swift has faced security concerns. In 2019, Roger Alvarado was arrested for attempting to break into her Tribeca residence, while in 2022, a man named Joshua Christian was arrested for allegedly stalking Swift across multiple states.

A Fox News host suggested this week that Taylor Swift is a "front for a covert political agenda," echoing disinformation that has percolated in right-wing circles for months -- and which experts say will likely get worse before the 2024 US election.

The Jesse Watters segment warning Swift could be a "Pentagon asset" offered the latest conspiracy theory exploiting the singer-songwriter's fame and her past support for Democrats such as President Joe Biden.

Attacks targeting Swift in recent months have ranged from personal barbs to accusations of witchcraft and speculation about her political involvement.

"Have you ever wondered why or how she blew up like this? Well, around four years ago, the Pentagon psychological operations unit floated turning Taylor Swift into an asset during a NATO meeting," Watters said Tuesday, resurfacing a clip from a 2019 summit by NATO's cyber defense hub.

But the video's only mention of Swift comes during a presentation on how social influence could counter misinformation, when a researcher unaffiliated with NATO cited the singer as an example of a popular celebrity.

"As for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off," Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh told AFP, referencing one of Swift's hits.

Watters also brought up a reported traffic surge on Vote.org in September -- immediately after Swift posted an Instagram story encouraging fans to participate in National Voter Registration Day -- to posit that someone "got to her from the White House or from wherever."

Reached by AFP, Swift publicist Tree Paine pointed to the nonprofit CEO's response to Watters's claims.

"Our partnership with @taylorswift13 is helping all Americans make their voices heard at the ballot box," Andrea Hailey said on X, formerly Twitter. "Not a psy-op or a Pentagon asset."

Watters -- whose primetime show is the second-most watched cable news show in the United States, drawing an average audience of nearly 2.5 million viewers -- conceded later during the segment that he "obviously has no evidence" for the claims.

Fox News declined to comment on the record for this story.

- Exploiting celebrity -

Already a megastar, Swift's stature grew in 2023, as she broke music records, performed the highest-grossing music tour in history and began dating American football player Travis Kelce. Time magazine named her Person of the Year.

As Swift's star rose, so did attacks against her. Fringe influencers such as far-right radio host Stew Peters accused her of witchcraft at concerts and claimed she was "responsible for murder" after Kelce appeared in a vaccine ad.

Doctored images shared online falsely linked her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, while several conservative commentators have insulted her private life and appearance. Activist Charlie Kirk asked on one podcast if she has "any eggs left."

"The way in which it is happening is very gendered because it is relatively easier to attach incredulous disinformation claims to female celebrities," said Swapnil Rai, an assistant media professor at the University of Michigan.

Claims that Swift is a Democratic operative were bubbling up online before Watters mainstreamed them.
"I SAID IT FROM THE BEGINNING," a top promoter of the QAnon conspiracy theory said after Watters's segment. "Not only is Taylor ADMITTEDLY a satanic witch, but she's also being used as a PENTAGON PSYOP ASSET to swing MANY THOUSANDS of youth votes over to the Democrats."

- 'MAGA vs Swifties' -

Laura Loomer, a far-right former congressional candidate who has repeatedly amplified the "psyop" claims, has said that "2024 will be MAGA vs Swifties."

The superstar is likely to play a role in the election -- albeit not as a "Pentagon asset."

"I cannot think of another celebrity whose endorsement and activities on behalf of a candidate would be more coveted," said David Jackson, a political science professor at Bowling Green State University, adding that he expects more attacks as the election approaches.

The famously tight-lipped Swift remained quiet during former president Donald Trump's 2016 campaign, but she later criticized him and endorsed Biden in 2020.

More recently, she spoke against the Supreme Court's decision to overturn abortion rights, and urged concertgoers to research which politicians support LGBTQ communities and vote against legislation "harmful" to them.

"I suspect that conservatives are concerned about the power she might have to rejuvenate interest among younger Democratic voters," said Johanna Blakley, a media scholar at the University of Southern California.

"Putting a disinformation (or) psyops spin on her role in the election seems like a thoroughly disingenuous effort to undermine and potentially pre-empt Swift's likely endorsement of Biden."

Don't Blame Me: Taylor Swift's influence attracts conspiracy theories

Singer-actress Selena Gomez is going on yet another social media break. Gomez was in the news earlier this week after a video of her gossiping with BFF Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry at the Golden Globe Awards 2024 went viral. On Wednesday, the singer took to her Instagram stories to share a video of her boyfriend Benny Blanco and announced her decision to take a break from social media.

Selena shared an adorable video of Benny Blanco playing with kids and wrote in the caption below, "I'm off social media for a while. I'm focusing on what really matters."

At the Golden Globes, a video showed Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift gossiping during an ad break. Many on the internet felt she was narrating an incident about actor Timothee Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner with her friends. Sources close to the singer later denied the news.

The Golden Globes controversy

A day later, Selena addressed the speculation and went to set the record straight in the comments of an Instagram post from E! News. She said, "Nooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that's anyone's business."

Meanwhile, one of the photographers from TMZ also asked Timothee about the incident in a viral video and the actor said that there was no rift between Selena and Kylie and added, “We’re all good.”

Fans had deduced that Selena had asked Timothee for a selfie and Kylie had said a 'no'.

Selena's previous social media break

This is not the first time that Selena has taken a brief break from social media. In November 2023, Selena had written on her Instagram Stories, “I am taking a break and deleting my Instagram. I'm done. I do not support any of what's going on.” The singer had received backlash on social media for her comments on the Israel-Palestine conflict, where she said, "Having a sister everyday has made me tragically sick... I would do anything for children and innocent lives." She returned to the social media app a few days later- a move that was criticised by some people.

Selena Gomez announces social media break amid Golden Globes drama

A viral video of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift 'gossiping' during the Golden Globes 2024 has gone viral. The video seemed to show Selena narrating to Swift and Keleigh Sperry, actor Miles Teller’s wife, an incident that had happened between her, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at the ceremony. The ceremony took place on Sunday in California and Timothee and Kylie made their debut as a couple at the ceremony.

The viral video does not have an audio but fans who have known Selena's history with the Jenner sisters seem to have presumed that the singer-actress was talking about Kylie and her actor boyfriend. However, now, as per a report by People, this was not the case.

Despite widespread speculation, a source close to Selena has stated that she was not gossiping about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at the Golden Globe Awards 2024 with her close pals, singer Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry.

Selena was seen seemingly spilling some tea to her friends in a now-viral moment caught on camera, but 'she was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie', the source close to Selena told the portal.

Fans had deduced from the three ladies' lip movement that Kylie Jenner had stopped her boyfriend from taking a photo with Selena at the event. However, the source stated that Selena 'never even saw or spoke to them'.

Selena, who was up for best performance by a female actor in a television musical or comedy for her role in the series Only Murders in the Building, was seen mingling with celebs such as Taylor Swift, before reuniting with her boyfriend Benny Blanco at the awards.

Selena and Kylie's relationship

For those coming in late, Selena's alleged drama with Kylie made headlines in early 2023, and it involved Selena's ex Justin Bieber's wife Hailey Bieber. In February, a TikTok account had claimed that Hailey and Kylie were shading Selena on social media for her eyebrow blunder. The singer had made a TikTok video about how she had ‘accidentally overlaminated’ her brows.

Kylie had commented on the TikTok, writing, "This is reaching. No shade toward Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! You guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly," to which Selena had replied, "Agreed @kyliejenner it's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie."

Golden Globes 2024 host Jo Koy's opening monologue and in particular a joke at singer Taylor Swift's expense received a lukewarm response from the audience as well as people on the internet on Sunday night. Koy's joke landed almost flat as he cracked one on Swift's rumoured romance with NFL star Travis Kelce. As the camera focussed on the singer for her reaction, she maintained a straight face and took a sip of her drink.

Now a day later, the comedian has reacted to the cold reception his jokes got at the Globes.

Jo Koy says Taylor Swift joke was a 'little flat'

Speaking about the poor reception to his monologue at the Golden Globe Awards, comedian Jo Koy told GMA3 that there was a particular moment that he felt bad about. He said, “I think it was when the Taylor (Swift) one was just a little flat…It was a weird joke, I guess. But it was more on the NFL…I was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how the Globes didn’t have to do that. So it was more of a jab toward the NFL. But it just didn’t come out that way."

What did Jo Koy say at the Golden Globes?

At the ceremony, Jo Koy remarked, “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL – on the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift. I swear, there’s just more to go to."

The host was talking about the media attention surrounding the singer in the last couple of months while she attended to watch her boyfriend, Kansas City Chief Travis Kelce's NFL games.

Swift's cold reaction to Jo Koy's joke immediately went viral on the internet with many fans calling the joke unnecessary and unfunny.

'It was a hard job'

In the same interview, the comedian also admitted that the experience was a hard one for him. “It’s a tough room. It was a hard job, I’m not going to lie…I’d be lying if (I said) it doesn’t hurt. I hit a moment there where I was like, ‘Ah.’ Hosting is just a tough gig. Yes, I’m a stand-up comic but that hosting position it’s a different style. I kind of went in and did the writer’s thing. We had 10 days to write this monologue. It was a crash course. I feel bad, but I got to still say I loved what I did,” he said.

Besties reunite! Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez pose together at the Golden Globes

A New York Times op-ed on Taylor Swift has drawn flak from her fans. The op-ed analyses her musical and lyrical choices through a queer lens and hints at her potential queer identity. The article has received mixed reactions. Critics have stated that the article goes too far and indulges in unnecessary speculations about her personal life. This raises questions about what's acceptable when talking about public figures.

The op-ed that ‘extensively analysed’ the gender identity of the singer angered her fan base.

The author of the 5,000-word piece has stated that Taylor Swift has hinted at her gender identity throughout her musical career. The lengthy opinion piece, which was published on Thursday, features several items that the author feels are "evidence" that the singer is a member of the LGBTQIA+ group.

An excerpt of the piece reads, “Those dropped hairpins began to appear in Ms. Swift’s artistry long before queer identity was undeniably marketable to mainstream America. They suggest to queer people that she is one of us.”

Reacting to the op-ed, a fan of the singer wrote on social media, “let alone a figure of immense cultural significance who has previously denied the insinuations. Such pieces are widely considered to be inappropriate."

Another one said, “I find myself hoping her machine punishes those who did this And I suspect she could do it, either overtly or subtly.”

Swift's support for the LGBTQ community

In the past, Taylor Swift has shown support for the LGBTQ community and said her performances are a “safe space" for LGBTQ people. She has also been a support to her Queer fans when anti-gay measures were being taken in the US. However, she has denied being part of the community herself. In a 2019 interview, Swift said, "Rights are being stripped from basically everyone who isn’t a straight white cisgender male.” She further added, “I didn’t realise until recently that I could advocate for a community that I’m not a part of.”

The singer is at present in a relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce. While the duo has not openly confirmed their relationship, they have indulged in PDA during public outings in recent months.

According to the outlet, Swift has spent a whopping 68 weeks at the top of Billboard 200 beating the King of Rock 'n' Roll's record who had stayed at the top for 67 weeks at No 1 position at the Billboard.

The outlet noted that Swift first made it to the top of the Billboard chart with the release of her 2008 album Fearless, which spent 11 weeks at No. 1 between 2008 and 2009. Swift followed that achievement with her next few albums Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights. Those releases added 47 weeks at the top.

Swift’s rerecorded albums cemented the star’s position in music history. According to the outlet, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) added 10 more No. 1's for the sing at the Billboard 200.
As a solo artist, she may have surpassed Presley's record but she has a long way to cross The Beatles' record who have spent 132 weeks at the No 1 spot across their 19 albums between 1964 and 2001.

A forensics report obtained by news agency The Associated Press on Wednesday (Dec 27) showed that heat exhaustion was the main reason behind the cause of death of a Brazilian fan who attended a concert of singer Taylor Swift in November.

Ana Clara Benevides died on November 17 at age 23 before one of Swift's Eras Tour shows in Rio de Janeiro.

When Swift learned about the news, she said, "I can't believe I'm writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show."

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Swift wrote at that time: "I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this. There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young."

Benevides' death came as a shock. She had taken her first flight to travel from the country's centre-west region to see her favourite singer.

Reports have mentioned the concert at the Nilton Santos Stadium was quite chaotic as fans lined up for hours before the show and many accused organisers of failing to deliver enough water supplies for the more than 60,000 fans. They also claimed that they were not allowed to take their own water into the stadium.

The news agency said that the report by Rio's Forensic Medical Institute mentioned that Benevides' heat exposure led to a cardiorespiratory arrest.

It also said she did not have preexisting conditions or substance abuse that could have led to her death.

As Joe Biden's poll numbers flag ahead of next year's election, it might seem obvious for the president to look to the pop-star billionaire who endorsed him in 2020, and whose every move is endlessly catalogued by US media.

It's a fact his campaign knows all too well.

"Please do not tell us that we need a Taylor Swift strategy. We are tracking," quipped a recent communications job advertisement for his 2024 reelection bid.

And yet, in the highly polarized US political and media landscape, everything the superstar singer does or doesn't do is likely to invite a simultaneous deluge of praise and a firestorm of fierce criticism.

Swift, recently named Time magazine's Person of the Year, is viewed favourably by 70 percent of Americans -- the sort of numbers that any president would kill for.

Perhaps none more than Biden, whose approval ratings recently dipped to 39 percent -- the lowest of any recent US leader at this point in their presidency, according to polling firm Gallup, and also the fifth time his ratings fell below 40 percent in this year alone.

Swift's 2020 endorsement of Biden, and her knack for using nonpartisan campaigns to register her "Swiftie" superfans to vote, doesn't mean that politics comes without scrutiny for the superstar.

- Polarized political era -

As America has descended into hyperpartisanship, the "You Belong With Me" singer's previously apolitical stance increasingly came under fire -- no matter if the frenzy was fed mostly by rumor and on social media.

At the same time, staying silent during the 2016 election bothered Swift personally, she would later say.

"These aren't your dad's Republicans," she says in a 2020 documentary, as members of her team press her to stay out of politics ahead of the 2018 election, warning it could "halve the number of people that come to your next tour."

Nevertheless, she came out of the woods to endorse the Democratic Senate candidate in the state of Tennessee, where the Donald Trump-endorsed Republican ended up winning.

As the country's division under the Trump presidency continued to pose a challenge to her -- and other celebrities' -- carefully curated, mass-appealing images, she endorsed Biden, castigating Trump for "stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism."

The key difference between then and now, perhaps, is just how much Swift -- already a megastar -- has seen her stature grow as she breaks music records, graces magazine covers and sees the press follow every detail of her increasingly public personal life.

- Swifties as a voting bloc? -

Her fans are mostly young women who have come of age in America's hyperpolarized political era -- and make up a key Democratic voting bloc.

But Biden's numbers have dipped among the country's youth, especially as his administration has staunchly backed Israel in its war against Hamas.

Swift, meanwhile, recently attended a fundraiser for aid for Palestinians, 20,000 of whom have died amid the conflict in Gaza begun when Hamas militants broke through the territory's border and killed 1,140 people.

According to a recent Harvard poll, the percentage of Americans aged 18-29 who "definitely" plan on voting for president has decreased from 57 percent to 49 percent, compared to those surveyed at this time in 2020.

This is where Swift might have an impact.

"I don't think the way these work is that when people see, oh, Taylor Swift endorsed Joe Biden, and they say, 'Well, that's who I'm going to vote for,'" Matthew Harris, a political science professor at Park University, told AFP.

"It's more along the lines of her ability to mobilize people, to encourage people to register to vote," he added, noting that "these are people who may already be predisposed, or likely to vote, for Joe Biden."

And in a tight election, as many predict 2024 will be, "those suburban areas... are really kind of the swing areas of American politics."

The often tight-lipped Swift has already quietly given a nod toward Biden's 2024 run, approving her song "Only The Young" to be used in a pro-Biden ad in October.

There's clearly no bad blood between Swift and Biden, but the president's entreaties to US youth might go over better if he could remember the name of America's most popular musical artist.

The 81-year-old last month mixed up Swift with pop star of yore Britney Spears. Such a gaffe could perhaps make him relatable to the average Swiftie's parents -- and after all, they vote, too.

Swifties to the polls? Why eyes are on Taylor ahead of 2024

As Joe Biden's poll numbers flag ahead of the 2024 race, the President might have to turn to endorsements from his previous backers, including pop-star billionaire Taylor Swift. Swift is viewed favourably by 70% of Americans. On the other hand, Biden's approval ratings, according to polling firm gallup, have recently dipped to 39%.

Actor Joe Keery recently clarified speculations surrounding a potential collaboration with Taylor Swift. The actor, best known for his role as Steve Harrington in Stranger Things, set the record straight during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Keery was seen at the Electric Lady recording studio in New York City on the same day as Swift, sparking rumors of a musical collaboration. However, he explained the confusion, stating that he was at the studio with sound engineer John Rooney and not working on any music at the time.

“Well, that was a very confusing day because I was just in there with John [Rooney, a sound engineer at the recording studio], minding my own business, not doing anything, and then I walked out the door, and it was like a thousand people were standing out there. People looked at me expecting Taylor and were like, ‘Who’s this guy?'” he said.

“Maybe [the rumour] would generate something. Maybe that experience generated something in the universe, but I don’t know,” he added.

Transitioning to his acting career, Keery briefly discussed the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. He admitted to having seen a few scripts but refrained from revealing specific details. When asked about his character Steve Harrington's fate and propensity for physical altercations, Keery playfully suggested that the odds were likely.
