During Pakistan's last league stage encounter in the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, versus Scotland, Shaheen Afridi made heads turn when he was fielding in the boundary line. Shaheen has been one of the star performers for Babar Azam-led Pakistan in the T20 WC and, hence, the crowd kept him involved when he was stationed at the deep.

With Shaheen placed near the boundary rope, the crowd wanted the pacer to recreate the dismissals of India's famed trio -- Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul -- by enacting all three wickets for them. To this, the young speedster agreed and performed all three dismissals, sending fans into a frenzy. Here's the video where Shaheen enacted the departures of Kohli, Rohit and Rahul from the India-Pakistan T20 WC game, played on October 24 -

For the unversed, Shaheen was the top-performer for Pakistan when they defeated India by ten wickets in both sides' Super 12 round opening fixture, held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. The left-arm pacer bamboozled India's top-order by sending Rohit and Rahul back to the pavillion in a flash and later dismissed Kohli (57) to restrict India to 151-7. In reply, Pakistan chased down the total with ten wickets and 13 balls to spare.

Talking about Babar & Co.'s run in the T20 WC so far, they defeated Scotland with ease in their final group stage encounter and have entered the semi-finals being the only unbeaten side in the competition. They will face Australia in the second semi-final, on Thursday evening (November 11), in order to book a place in the summit clash, versus New Zealand.

The winner of the clash will meet New Zealand in the tournament-finale, on November 14, in Dubai.

Both sides impressed in the group stages. While Australia was placed in Pool A, the Men in Green topped Pool B to enter the last four. Pakistan remain the only unbeaten side in the tournament with five back-to-back wins whereas Finch & Co. were demolished by England but beat South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to book a place in the semi-finals.

Both sides will be eager to bowl first, with chasing sides winning aplenty at the venue, and make early inroads to put pressure on the opposition. The bowlers might determine the fate of the contest. T20 WC, AUS vs PAK live streaming: When and where to watch Australia vs Pakistan second semi-final?

Australia and Pakistan will square off with each other in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021 edition on Thursday evening (November 11), at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. The winner of the clash will take on Kane Williamson-led New Zealand, who beat England in the first semi-final and entered their maiden final.

Talking about Australia, they are coming into the last four with four wins from five games in Pool A. While they were demolished by Eoin Morgan-led England, the Aaron Finch-led Australian line-up have punched above their weight in the other four games as not many considered them to be in the semi-finals. Their bowlers, especially Adam Zampa and Mitchell Starc, have been in-form whereas the likes of Finch, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh have contributed with the bat.

On the other hand, Babar Azam-led Pakistan have been the most impressive side in the T20 WC 2021 edition. The Men in Green remain the only unbeaten team with five back-to-back games, which has seen them stretch their winning streak in T20Is in UAE to 16. Babar & Co. have had different match-winners in every game, such as Mohammad Rizwan, Asif Ali, Shoaib Malik, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, whereas others have also played their parts.

Match prediction for second semi-final between Pakistan and Australia: Pakistan surely has the edge going into the fixture. Nonetheless, the venue will bring toss into play as both sides will look to chase given the dew factor. Babar-led Pakistan have prepared themselves thoroughly as they decided to bat first twice in their last league stage encounters and that might play a decisive role in determining the outcome. Expect a moderate-scoring game to go down the wire with Pakistan to emerge on top.

AUS vs PAK, T20 WC 2021, SF 2 prediction: Who will win today's match between Australia and Pakistan?

After IPL 2021, the cricketing lovers have had plenty of action from the 22-yard cricket strip with the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, being held in the UAE. While the tournament's knockout round has commenced, there has been plenty to cherish for fans as both batters and bowlers have kept them entertained all throughout.

While some underrated names have made a mark and stood tall for their respective sides, some big-ticket names couldn't live upto the heavy expectations and had a horrendous campaign. Let's have a look at how some daunting names in the shortest format couldn't do wonders in the Super 12 round:

Chris Gayle

The Universe Boss is considered to be the Don Bradman of the shortest format. Playing his last possible T20 WC, the left-hander didn't have a fruitful run in the seventh edition for the two-time winners West Indies. One of the main reasons for Kieron Pollard & Co.'s early exit was due to Gayle's low returns with the bat. He ended the tournament with scores of 13, 12, 4, 1 and 15.

Andre Russell

Russell's big-hitting pushes any opposition to the back foot. However, Dre Russ never arrived in the showpiece event with both bat and ball. He had a forgettable run with scores of 0, 5, 0, 2 and 18*. He, however, fared much better with the ball. The all-rounder claimed three wickets and held his nerves while bowling the final over versus Bangladesh in a thrilling encounter. He also returned with two wickets versus Sri Lanka.

Mohammed Shami

Shami was mercilessly trolled after India's ten-wicket defeat versus Pakistan in their Super 12 opener. While the right-arm pacer did have two very good games, versus Afghanistan and Scotland respectively, the senior pro leaked runs in the other three games. He had figures of 3.5-0-43-0 versus the Men in Green, conceded 11 runs in his single over against New Zealand and was also taken to the cleaners versus Namibia, where he ended with 4-0-39-0. Surely, more was expected from the highly-talented pacer.

Dawid Malan

Dawid Malan, the No. 2 ranked batsman in ICC T20I rankings, hasn't had the best of runs in the tough and tricky conditions in the UAE. In five games for England in the Super 12, the left-hander returned with scores of 28* (25), 8, 6 and 33. He has been a bit slow to start off his innings and hasn't been at his fluent best. Eoin Morgan & Co. have continued to back him and will be desperate to see him among runs in the concluding stages of the tournament.

Glenn Maxwell

The Aussie all-rounder is one of the best T20I players worldwide. After a terrific IPL 2021, Maxwell was expected to go all-out in the T20 WC Super 12 round. However, he hasn't lived upto expectations so far. He has had scores of 18, 5, 6, 0* and 0*. The 33-year-old had enough time to create an impact when he came out to bat versus South Africa, Sri Lanka and England. Nonetheless, he couldn't do much and will like to turn it around in the second semi-final, versus Pakistan.

Mustafizur Rahman

Bangladesh have quite a few big names in their line-up, such as Mustafizur Rahman, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, etc. Thus, they were expected to do much better than returning winless in the main draw of the tournament. One of the reasons for their disastrous campaign was Mustafizur's poor returns. He returned with only two wickets in the Super 12 but remained economical (except the Australia game). However, more was expected of him for being one of the chief wicket-takers for the Bangla Tigers. The left-arm pacer finished with 8 wickets in 7 games, with four coming in a single encounter.

Mushfiqur Rahim

Rahim has been one of the most dependable batters in the Bangladesh line-up. The right-hander has been a force to reckon with across formats and often bails his side out of crisis. While the experienced campaigner did start well in the Super 12, with a 57* versus Sri Lanka, he fizzled out as the tournament progressed. He ended with a solitary fifty-plus score and five single-digit scores overall (including the qualifiers).

From Universe Boss to Mohammed Shami: 7 under-performers in T20 World Cup

Team India bowed out of the T20 World Cup 2021 edition in the Super 12 round. With their exit, the respective tenures of head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar also came to an end. The famed trio have been part of the Indian team setup for long and helped the national side scale new heights across formats, both at home and away assignments.

As the outgoing coaching staff bid an emotional farewell, the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has now shared a heartfelt post for Shastri & Co.

Under Shastri, India continued to dominate across formats and ended as the semi-finals in the 2019 ODI World Cup and runners-up in the inaugural WTC. Talking about Arun and Sridhar, the former played a huge role in Indian pacers' rise and their performances overseas whereas Sridhar ensured that India became a force to reckon with in the fielding department.

India are now set to start a new era under Shastri's successor Rahul Dravid. He will turn up with his own set of support staff members, however, Vikram Rathour is likely continue to serve as the batting coach after reapplying for the top post recently.

'Thank you for.....' - Jasprit Bumrah lavishes huge praise on Ravi Shastri-led India's outgoing coaching staff

Rahul Dravid is set to take over officially as Team India's full-time coach from the New Zealand home series, starting from November 17. Dravid will succeed Ravi Shastri, who played the role of India's head coach from mid-2017 to late 2021.

While India did very well under Shastri, across formats, his tenure ended without India winning an ICC title. After the T20 World Cup 2021 debacle, a lot has been said and written with regard to Team India's hectic cricketing schedule in a calendar year and the fatigue issue surrounding the players. Hence, the newly-appointed coach Dravid has taken up the fatigue issue with the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), as per a report in the Indian Express, and is also set to play a key role in the subject of players' rotation, depending upon their workload, in coordination with BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

So far, the matter of players' rotation, rest, and workload management has been in the hands of the selectors. However, it seems the picture is set to change after a number of players complained of bio-bubble fatigue. Hence, the new head coach Dravid is set to spearhead the whole process of the players being given adequate rest before the national selectors announce the squad for any future series or big-ticket tournaments.

“The BCCI will decide on which player needs to be rested depending on how much cricket is being played. We are aware of the fatigue issue. The player who has been rested will get his place back in the team even if the replacement does well,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by IE.

On Tuesday evening (November 9), the BCCI announced a 15-man squad for India's T20I series versus New Zealand. The Rohit Sharma-led squad didn't comprise the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, etc. As all the key players have been part of bio-bubbles and have been playing cricket continuously, the break is much needed for them.

Rahul Dravid addresses India's fatigue issue with CAC, to work on rotation policy with Jay Shah: Report

England will face New Zealand in the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, in the UAE, on Wednesday evening (November 10). The two sides met each other on the same day two years back, which produced an absolute thriller as the fifth and final T20I, in New Zealand, ended in a tie before England won yet another Super Over versus the Kiwis (after the dramatic 2019 ODI World Cup final).

Both sides have a fierce rivalry on the 22-yard cricket strip and, hence, the cricketing fraternity expects another thrilling encounter between the two teams in the first semi-final of the T20 WC. Talking about England, they topped Pool A with four wins and one defeat to enter the semi-finals. On the other hand, Kane Williamson-led New Zealand lost their tournament-opener, versus Pakistan, in the Super 12 round before winning four games in a row to book a last four slot.

For the unversed, both sides have met each other in the ongoing tournament during the warm-up games. Back then, England emerged on top by 13 runs. Who will emerge on top this time? Will NZ enter their maiden T20 WC final or will Morgan & Co. play their second successive final in the tournament-history?

T20 WC, ENG vs NZ live streaming: When and where to watch England vs New Zealand first semi-final match?

England and New Zealand will face each other in the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, in the UAE, on Wednesday evening (November 10). After the terrific 2019 ODI World Cup final, this will be the first time that both sides will face each other in an ICC event and, that too, with all to play for.

The match is expected to go down the wire. Not only for it being a knockout game, but it will be exciting to see New Zealand's tactics and England's style of play in the first semi-final, which will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Both sides have played some excellent cricket in the Super 12, winning four and losing a solitary game apiece. While England rely more on their power-hitters, they also have a smart bowling line-up who can adapt to conditions. On the other hand, New Zealand are more dependent on their pacers but also have been chasing down totals smartly, following their own methods calmly.

In terms of head-to-head, England have an edge with 13 wins from 21 encounters whereas the Black Caps have emerged on top in seven games (with one being a no-result). On the other hand, the battle gets intense in T20 WC history, with England leading the Kiwis 3-2. For the unversed, both sides had also played the first semi-final of the last edition of the World Cup, where England beat Williamson & Co. Will the Kiwis have the final laugh this time around?

Match prediction for the ENG vs NZ semi-final: The match will be played on one of the best batting surfaces among the three venues in the T20 WC. England will have an edge given their star-studded power-hitters, however, Kiwi pacers will look to test them with the new ball. While the English side will be confident to chase down any total, they can be tempted to bat first to test the NZ in a run-chase. It is important to note that Williamson-led side have chased successfully twice and also defended totals on an equal number of occasions in the Super 12 round. Hence, NZ might still cherish chasing as batting first can also test their nerves in a knockout game.

A 175-plus match is expected to be on cards. On paper, England have a slight edge but the Kiwis cannot be ruled out so easily. Gut-feel states that NZ will go through given some injury issues in the England camp.

After the terrific 2019 ODI World Cup final, this will be the first time that both sides will face each other in an ICC event and, that too, with all to play for.

ENG vs NZ, T20 WC 2021 semi-final 1 prediction: Who will win today's match between England and New Zealand?

Virat Kohli-led Team India entered the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 edition being touted as one of the strongest contenders for the coveted title. However, the one-time winners lost two games in a row at the start of their campaign, which dented their overall run immensely. While India recovered and notched up two big wins before their final encounter, they bowed out as soon as New Zealand beat Afghanistan to become the second team from Pool B to qualify for the semi-finals (after Pakistan).

India were out of the semi-finals race with NZ securing 8 points as the Men in Blue could only manage 6 points overall following their last tie, versus Namibia on Monday evening (November 8). After India's untimely exit, Kohli shared a heartfelt note for Team India fans and promised that the team will bounce back emphatically going forward.

While the Men in Blue did recover in style, with three back-to-back big wins, it was too late as New Zealand and Pakistan had sealed the two semi-final spots from Pool B by then.

'A big shout-out to Virat Kohli' - KL Rahul lauds India's outgoing T20I captain in a heartfelt post

Team India ended their T20 World Cup 2021 edition, being held in the UAE, with a nine-wicket win in their last league stage encounter versus Namibia on Monday evening (November 8). As Virat Kohli-led India were knocked out from the semi-finals race, with New Zealand's eight-wicket win over Afghanistan, the one-time winners had a chance to sign off on a high. Kohli & Co. didn't disappoint as they beat Namibia in style with an all-round performance.

Despite their win over Namibia, India ended the T20 WC 2021 edition with three wins and two big defeats, which resulted in their early ouster. India lost their opening two fixtures, versus Pakistan and New Zealand respectively, by big margins and, thus, once again missed out on winning their first-ever ICC title since 2013.

Former England captain-turned-commentator Nasser Hussain decoded reasons behind India's early exit and told while speaking to T20worldcup.com, "You have got to go out and express yourself. They (India) have got so much talent. That may be the only thing that's holding India back in ICC events. They don't quite play the fearless brand of cricket that they deserve to because they are so talented."

"I had them as favourites. They have been playing IPL here, and are a star-studded side. But they got a setback in the first game itself. The way Shaheen Afridi bowled in the powerplay, those two deliveries that Rohit and Rahul got would have got a lot of great cricketers out. That’s sometimes the problem with the Indian side. They are so good at the top, some of the middle-order doesn’t get much of a hit and suddenly you need a Plan B and that was found wanting."

"I see India as a very talented side but sometimes selection wise... Hardik Pandya just playing as a batter alters the balance of the side. Against New Zealand, the idea to split Rohit and Rahul was not a good one," pointed out Hussain.

That's the problem with Team India: Nasser Hussain decodes reason behind Kohli & Co.'s T20 WC debacle

Team India's dismal T20 World Cup campaign came to an end on Monday (November 8). Losing their first two matches, Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue were behind in the race for the semi-finals and eventually lost the battle to New Zealand, who secured the second spot from Pool B (after Pakistan) and ensured India's early exit.

Following India's nine-wicket win over Namibia in their last group stage encounter, on Monday evening (November 8), the former New Zealand cricketer-turned-commentator Simon Doull reflected on India's campaign. He felt that the scheduling backfired for the national team in the marquee tournament.

Doull said on Cricbuzz, "I don't know how to put this kindly, but There was a real air of arrogance around the scheduling and that is what the broadcasters wanted with involvement from the ICC as they wanted India's fixtures around the holidays around Diwali and all that so they wanted those games at peak times."

“Pakistan should have been the first game, but the game against New Zealand should have been the final contest. It should have been India against New Zealand for a place in the semi-final at the end," he added.

Opining on the scheduling, India's veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik said, "Everyone expected the contest against Pakistan a walk in the park considering the talent we have. It's a learning curve as well. Can give many reasons, but at the end of the day, India knows they did not play their best cricket. They would have hoped had the final three games been the ones they began with, they could have taken the confidence for the tough games. But, that is the beauty of a tournament like a World Cup, can't pick and choose here."

As New Zealand defeated Afghanistan by 8 wickets to end the latter's campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, Team India also bowed out of the mega event on Sunday evening (November 7). The one-time winners Men in Blue were hoping for Afghanistan to beat New Zealand so that they could've remained alive in the showpiece event and given their all against Namibia, their final group stage encounter, to pip Afghanistan in NRR (with a big win) and march to the semi-finals.

This will also be Kohli's last match as India's T20I captain, and probably as white-ball captain altogether, as the 33-year-old had already announced that the World Cup will be his last as the captain in the shortest format.

For Namibia, they have shown remarkable growth in the mega event. Playing the qualifiers, they stunned Ireland to enter the main draw and had their moments versus New Zealand and Pakistan (only for a brief period) whereas beat Scotland and will now aim to upset the mighty Indian team. Namibia will feel that they have a chance against India, who are already down and out and exhausted following a gruelling last few months on the road.

IND vs NAM, T20 World Cup 2021 prediction: Who will win today's match between India and Namibia?

Virat Kohli said the feeling was of 'relief' after leading India for one final time in T20Is on Monday (November 08). Team India signed off with a 9-wicket win against Namibia in the final Super 12 clash of the T20 World Cup 2021 in what was Kohli's last game as the captain of the T20I side. The batting maestro had already confirmed he will be stepping down as the captain of the Indian team in the shortest format at the end of the T20 World Cup 2021.

India were knocked out of the T0 World Cup 2021 on Sunday after Afghanistan's 8-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand. The Men in Blue needed a favour from Afghanistan to remain alive in the competition but the Mohammad Nabi-led side's defat sealed their fate in the tournament as India failed to make it to the top four and bowed out from the group stages.

India suffered back-to-back defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand in their first two games in the tournament as they semi-final hopes were left shattered. The Men in Blue staged a comeback with three wins in their next three matches but six points were not enough to help India finish second in Group 2 to reach the semis as Kohli's stint as T20I captain ends without a major ICC trophy.

Nonetheless, Kohli said it was the right time for him to step down as the captain in T20Is while citing workload. The run machine also pointed out how the intense cricket that he has played in the last 6-7 years while leading the Indian team has taken away a lot from him. Kohli was appointed as India's Test captain in 2014 and took over as captain across all formats from MS Dhoni in 2017.

"Relief firstly (emotions). As I said it's been an honour, but things have to be kept in the right perspective," Kohli said after leading India to a comprehensive win in his final game as T20I captain.

"This was the right time for me to manage my workload. It's been six-seven years of intense cricket every time we take the field and it takes a lot out of you. It's been great fun, great bunch of guys and we've really performed well as a team," said the 33-year-old explaining his decision to quit T20I captaincy.

Kohli led India in a total of 50 T20I matches as captain, wining 30 while losing 16 games. 2 matches ended without a result while two ended in a tie. He led India to some memorable series wins against the likes of England, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia among others.

The T20 World Cup 2021 was Kohli's first and last major ICC T20 event as captain of the side where he failed to inspire his side to the semis and will have to settle without a trophy. Along with Kohli as T20I skipper, the nine-wicket win against Namibia also was Ravi Shastri's final game as the head coach of the Indian team.

Kohli thanked Shastri and his support staff - bowling coach Bharat Arun, fielding coach - R Sridhar, who are all set to depart after India's campaign at the T20 World Cup 2021 ended on Monday. Rahul Dravid will take over as Inda's new head coach from the upcoming New Zealand series at home.

Virat Kohli explains why he quit India's T20I captaincy: 'It's been 6-7 years of intense cricket'

Virat Kohli signed off with a win as India's T20I captain as the Men in Blue defeated Namibia by 9 wickets in their final Super 12 game of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 on Monday (November 08). Kohli failed to inspire his side into the semi-finals in what was a disappointing campaign for Team India in the showpiece event in UAE.

Touted as one of the favourites for the title ahead of the start of the tournament, India faltered early on in the Super 12 stage as they suffered back-to-back defeats in their first two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand respectively. The consecutive defeats pushed India on the brink of early elimination while damaging their hopes of making it to the top four.

India did bounce back with two big wins against Afghanistan and Scotland to keep their top-four hopes alive. However, their fate no more lay in their own hands as they needed a favour from Afghanistan to remain alive in the competition. Afghanistan lost against New Zealand by 8 wickets on Sunday to confirm India's exit from the T20 World Cup.

New Zealand became the second team from Group 2 to qualify for the semis with eight points from five matches along with top-placed Pakistan, who remained unbeaten in the group stages with five wins in five matches. India ended their campaign with three wins from five matches in the Super 12 in what was Kohli's last tournament as the T20I captain.

The spinners did well on Monday as Ravindra Jadeja (3) and Ashwin (3) picked up six wickets between them to restrict Namibia on 132/8 after India opted to bowl first in the game. Openers KL Rahul (54*) and Rohit Sharma (56) slammed respective half-centuries as India chased down the target with 28 balls to thrash Namibia by 9 wickets and bag their third win in a row in the tournament.

While Kohli signs off with a win, he would regret not helping the team reach the semi-finals as he ends his tenure without an ICC trophy in the shortest format. Kohli, who will continue to lead India in ODIs and Tests, is yet to win a major ICC trophy across all three formats of the game despite having come close on a few occasions.

In T20Is, Kohli led India to some memorable wins including series wins against England at home and away from home, and a 5-0 whitewash against New Zealand in their own backyard last year. India also defeated South Africa and Australia away from home while dominating West Indies 3-0 away from home in 2019.

The 9-wicket win against Namibia also marks an end to Ravi Shastri's tenure as the head coach of the Indian team. He will be replaced by the legendary Rahul Dravid for the New Zealand series at home after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2021. It remains to be seen who will replace Kohli as India's next T20I captain.

Virat Kohli signs off with a win, but without an ICC trophy as India's T20I captain

Indian captain Virat Kohli is leading India for the final time in T20Is in their last Super 12 clash against Namibia in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai on Monday (November 08). Kohli has already announced that he will be stepping down as the captain of the Indian team in T20Is post the conclusion of the showpiece event.

India are already out of the T20 World Cup 2021 after two defeats and two wins in their first four matches. They lost to Pakistan and New Zealand in their first two Super 12 encounters before bouncing back to register two big wins against Afghanistan and Scotland in their next two games and remain alive in the race for semi-finals.

However, their fate remained in the hands of Afghanistan, who lost against New Zealand by 8 wickets on Sunday to confirm India's ouster. Ahead of his last game as India's T20I captain against Namibia on Monday, Kohli hinted at Rohit Sharma being his successor in the shortest format.

Rohit, who is currently India's vice-captain in the limited-overs format, has been backed by many to take over the mantle from Kohli in T20Is. Rohit is the frontrunner to replace Kohli as India's captain in T20Is and is likely to take charge in the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand at home.

"I've been immensely proud of how the team has played. Now I think it's time for the next lot to stake this team forward. Obviously, Rohit is here and he's overlooking (overseeing) things for a while now," Kohli said during the toss ahead of India's game against Namibia in the T20 World Cup on Monday.

"It's been an honour for me, I was given the opportunity and I tried to do my best. But it's also time to create some space and move forward," Kohli added.

Virat Kohli hints at his successor as India's captain in T20Is: 'He's looking over things for a while now'

India head coach Ravi Shastri said he was mentally drained ahead of his last game in charge of the team. India locked horns with Namibia in their final Super 12 game in the T20 World Cup 2021 on Monday (November 08). The game is all set to be Shastri's last as the head coach of the team as the Men in Blue have already been knocked out of the tournament after two defeats and two wins in their first four matches.

India's fate rested on the shoulders of Afghanistan, who lost their final Super 12 game against New Zealand on Sunday to confirm India's ouster from the tournament. Shastri, who had been appointed as India's full-time head coach in the year 2017, said his players are mentally and physically drained and that the Indian team would have ideally liked a bigger gap between the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and the T20 World Cup 2021.

The second phase of IPL 2021 concluded on October 15th while India's campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 began just eight days later with a high-profile clash against Pakistan in Dubai on October 24th. While Shastri insisted a bigger break would have been ideal, he said it was not an excuse from his side and that the Indian team is not scared of losing while trying to win.

"I am mentally drained but I expect that at my age. These guys are physically and mentally drained, six months in a bubble and we would have ideally liked a bigger gap between the IPL and the World Cup," Shastri said ahead of India's game against Namibia on Monday.

"It's when the big games come and when the pressure hits you - you are not that switched on as you should be. And it's not an excuse. We take defeat because we are not scared of losing. Because in trying to win, you will lose a game. Here we didn't try to win because that X-factor was missing," he added.

Not an excuse, but would have liked bigger gap between IPL and T20 World Cup 2021: Ravi Shastri

Team India, on Sunday (November 8), bowed out of the T20 World Cup 2021 edition, being held in the UAE. After losing their opening two encounters, Virat Kohli-led India bounced back in style to win two matches in a row and had to hope for New Zealand to lose to Afghanistan in order to stay alive in the semi-finals race. Had New Zealand lost to the Mohammad Nabi-led Afghan side, India would have had to beat Namibia convincingly to topple Afghanistan in NRR and enter the semis.

However, all hopes of Team India ended with New Zealand beating Afghanistan by eight wickets and entering the semis by claiming the remaining fourth spot. With this, India's match against Namibia has turned into a dead rubber. As soon as the news broke out that India are virtually out of the race from the semi-finals, Cricket Pakistan's official Twitter handle tried to troll the Indian cricket fans.

Wasim Jaffer, India's former opener-turned-internet sensation, gave a savage response to the Pakistan website's tweet. Here's how it all happened:

As Cricket Pakistan's tweet tried to troll the Indian fans, Jaffer had the last laugh by reminding them of India's superior head-to-head record versus Babar Azam-led Pakistan in ICC events (12-1). Despite India losing their first-ever game versus Pakistan in an ICC event during the ongoing T20 WC, they still have a significant lead over their arch-rivals in marquee tournaments. Thus, Jaffer hilariously reminded one and all of the same.

Post India's exit in the T20 WC, the national side will now have a new head coach in Rahul Dravid, who will take over from the New Zealand home series as Ravi Shastri's tenure will come to an end post the end of Men in Blue's campaign in the showpiece event, in the UAE.

Mic-drop moment! Jaffer gives savage reply after Pak website trolls Indian fans for T20 WC debacle

The legendary Kapil Dev has slammed some members of the current Indian team for prioritising playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over playing for the country. Kapil's comments come after India were knocked out of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 post Afghanistan's 8-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand in their final Super 12 clash.

India needed a favour from Afghanistan to remain alive in the race for the semi-finals with a game remaining against Namibia. However, the Virat Kohli-led side was knocked out from the tournament as New Zealand secured a berth in the semis with an emphatic win on Sunday.

World Cup-winning captain Kapil has urged the BCCI to plan the schedule of the Indian cricket team in a better way while insisting that playing for the country should always be the priority for the players. He also expressed disappointment over players prioritising IPL over playing for the country.

"When players prioritise IPL over playing for the country, we what can we say. Players should take pride in playing for their nation. I don't know their financial conditions so can't say much," Kapil Dev said on ABP News.

"But I feel that first in line should be the country's team and then franchises. I'm not saying do not play cricket there (IPL), but the responsibility is now on the BCCI to plan its cricket better. To not repeat mistakes we committed in this tournament is the biggest learning for us," he added.

Kapil further stated that the Indian team should quickly move on from the debacle at the T20 World Cup 2021 and should focus on the future. The former captain believes there should have been some gap between the IPL 2021 and the T20 World Cup which potentially took a toll on players mentally and physically as they were playing in strict bio-bubbles since a long time.

"It's time to look at the future. You should start planning right away. It's not that since the World Cup is over, the Indian team's entire cricket is too. Go and plan. I just feel that there should have been some gap between IPL and the World Cup. But this is certainly there that our players today have a lot of exposure but they could not make the most of it," said Kapil.

Earlier, India's premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah and bowling coach Bharat Arun had opened up on players facing mental fatigue due to playing excessive cricket in bio-bubbles in the build-up to the T20 World Cup 2021.

What can we say when players prioritise playing IPL over country: Kapil Dev as India bow out of T20 WC

The T20 World Cup 2021 edition is set to welcome the semi-finals stage. After match 40 ended in the Super 12 round, on Sunday evening (November 7), the cricketing fraternity got to know about the four teams who will now engage in the semi-finals as some of the big guns in West Indies and India have failed to reach the knockouts.

After Saturday's doubleheader (November 6), Pakistan (who were the first side to make it to the semis) were joined by Australia and England in the semi-finals whereas Kane Williamson-led New Zealand became the fourth and final side to enter the last four. Hence, England (who topped Pool A) will lock horns with Pool B's second-best team, i.e. New Zealand in the first semi-final whereas Australia (Pool A's second-ranked side) will face Babar Azam-led Pakistan (Pool B toppers) in the second semi-final. The two semi-finals are scheduled to take place on November 10 and 11, at Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively.

T20 WC, semi-finals schedule: England face New Zealand, Australia to lock horns with Pakistan

Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has criticised Team India's bowling coach Bharat Arun over his remarks on the toss being one of the reasons behind the team's failure in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. India were knocked out of the tournament on Sunday (November 07) after Afghanistan's 8-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand in Abu Dhabi.

New Zealand became the second team from Group 2 to qualify for the semis with eight points from five matches. Harbhajan said the Indian team management should accept the fact that the team didn't play as well as they should have and failed to live up to the expectations in the tournament.

India lost their opening game against arch-rivals Pakistan by ten wickets before getting thrashed by New Zealand by eight wickets in their next game. The consecutive defeats in their first two matches did enough damage as India eventually bowed out of the competition even before they could have taken the field in their last Super 12 game against Namibia.

Talking about India's poor show in the tournament, the team's bowling coach Bharat Arun had earlier blamed the toss and the pitches in Dubai for India's lacklustre performances. Arun had claimed batting second was not easy on the Dubai track which cost India in the tournament.

"I am not trying to give any excuses but I think in this World Cup the trend has been the team that wins the toss has a big advantage especially when you are in playing in Dubai. The wicket kind of eases out when you come out to bowl the second time. These are no excuses. We should have done better, we should have batted better. In the first match, we had the chance to defend a good total, but we looked a little below par," bowling coach Arun said during the pre-match presser ahead of India's game against Namibia.

Reacting to Arun's remarks, Harbhajan cited the example of MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings, who won the final of IPL 2021 after batting first against Kolkata Knight Riders in Dubai. CSK had posted a big total of 192 runs on the board, batting first and restricted Kolkata Knight Riders on 165 runs to win the game comfortably by 27 runs and lift their 4th IPL trophy.

“I heard Bharat Arun saying that had India won the toss, they could have done this and done that. All that is up for a later discussion. 'Didn't CSK win IPL 2021 batting first': Harbhajan Singh criticises India's bowling coach over 'toss' excuse

India will take on Namibia in their final Super 12 clash of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 on Monday (November 08). India have already been knocked out of the race for a spot in the semi-finals after Afghanistan's 8-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand on Sunday, but Virat Kohli & Co. will be hoping to sign off from the tournament with a win.

The Namibia game will also mark an end to an era in Indian cricket as it will be Kohli's last T20I game as the captain of the Indian team and head coach Ravi Shastri's final game in charge as well. While Kohli has already announced he will be stepping down from the post of captain in T20Is, Shastri will also be relinquishing the Indian team's head coach post for Rahul Dravid after the T20 World Cup 2021.

Former India batter and cricket expert Sanjay Manjrekar believes Kohli had a chance to take a step towards 'the inevitable' ahead of India's game against Namibia. Manjrekar believes Kohli should straightway offer captaincy to Rohit Sharma for the Namibia clash and set a new trend.

"If Virat Kohli wants to sort of start a new trend, the inevitable future in T20 cricket, he could maybe offer the leadership straightaway to Rohit Sharma in this final game. Then Rohit Sharma may not be rested and play as captain," Manjrekar said in a video for Dafa News.

5 points: What went wrong for India at T20 World Cup 2021

Team India will end their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 edition on Monday evening (November 8). Being touted as one of the strongest contenders, Virat Kohli-led India failed to live upto expectations and will now play their last league stage match versus Namibia and hope to sign off on a high.

India started their campaign in Pool B with a ten-wicket loss to Pakistan. They then lost to New Zealand by eight wickets, which very well ended their chances of reaching the semi-finals. While the Men in Blue have pulled back in style with two big wins, versus Afghanistan and Scotland respectively, they became out of contention on Sunday evening (November 7) as soon as Afghan side lost to Kane Williamson-led Black Caps by eight wickets.

Namibia, on the other hand, are coming into this game after some good performances in the qualifiers and have remained competitive in the Super 12. They will hope to learn aplenty by locking horns with Team India and also aim to pull off an upset versus Kohli & Co.

On Sunday evening (November 7), the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team continued their winning streak in the T20 World Cup 2021 edition. Playing their last match in the Super 12, the Men in Green thrashed Scotland by a whopping 72-run margin and topped their group (Pool B) as they now head to the semi-finals with a five-match unbeaten streak in the showpiece event (16th consecutive T20I wins in a row in UAE).

Talking about the match, Pakistan opted to bat first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Sunday evening. They were off to a slow start as the one-time winners were only 60 for 2 in ten overs. Nonetheless, Babar's 47-ball 66 and Shoaib Malik's 18-ball 54* propelled the side to 189/4. In reply, the Kyle Coetzer-led Scotland side were restricted for a paltry 117/6, courtesy Richie Berrington's 54, as Shadab Khan's 2 for 14 and other bowlers combined to take Pakistan to yet another win in the tournament.

After the match, the Pakistan team management won hearts as they decided to celebrate pacer Haris Rauf's 28th birthday along with the Scotland players. Hence, they invited them to their dressing room and won hearts worldwide. Here's the video:

With a spot in the semi-final on the line, New Zealand will take on Afghanistan in a must-win Super 12 clash in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday (November 07). The all-important game will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. While a win for New Zealand will see them finish second in Group 2 and qualify for the semis, a loss will ensure they are out of the competition.

The match will also decide the fate of Virat Kohli-led Team India in the competition. If New Zealand beat Afghanistan, not only the Mohammad Nabi-led ide but India will also be out of the race for the semis. However, if Afghanistan manage to pull off an upset, India's hopes will remain alive.

Kohli & Co. were on the brink of facing an early exit from the T20 World Cup 2021 after facing back-to-back defeats in their first two matches. However, they have since bounced back strongly and won their last two games against Afghanistan and Scotland by big margins to remain in the fray. The Indians will be closely watching the action between New Zealand and Afghanistan when the two teams lock horns on Sunday.

Currently, New Zealand are at the second spot on the Group 2 points table with six points from four games. On the other hand, Afghanistan are 4th with four points from as many matches and a net run rate of +1.481 which is lesser than that of India. If they manage to beat New Zealand by a big margin they will have a healthy chance of qualifying.

Afghanistan, who have never played a T20 World Cup knockout match before, will be looking to give their all in a bid to finish second in Group 2 and enter the semis along with table-toppers Pakistan. Afghanistan spinners Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be key to their success against New Zealand on Sunday.

NZ vs AFG, T20 World Cup 2021 prediction: Who will win today's match between Afghanistan & New Zealand?

Team India was ousted from the T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday (November 07) after Afghanistan's 8-wicket defeat against New Zealand in their final Super 12 clash at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. India's hopes lingered on Afghanistan as only a win for Mohammad Nabi & Co. would have kept the Virat Kohli-led side in the race to qualify for the semi-finals.

However, Afghanistan lost against New Zealand on Sunday after failing to defend a total of 125 runs to bow out of the competition while also confirming India's exit from the tournament. Reacting to India's ouster, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag shared a hilarious Rahul Gandhi-inspired meme on Twitter to leave fans in splits.

India's fans were hoping for a miracle from Afghanistan which would have kept India in the race for the semi-finals. India were all but out of the race for the semi-finals after their back-to-back defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand in their first two games in the Super 12 as they got off to a shambolic start in the tournament. However, India bounced back with a bog win against Afghanistan by 66 runs in their third game before thrashing Scotland by 8 wickets inside just 39 balls in their fourth Super 12 clash to remain alive in the competition.

Nonetheless, their fate was sealed after New Zealand defeated Afghanistan and moved to 8 points to confirm their second spot on the points table and enter the semis. Even a win against Namibia in their last game can see India reach a maximum of six points which confirms their exit from the tournament.

Virender Sehwag reacts with hilarious meme as India bow out of T20 WC 2021 after Afghanistan's defeat

India were one of the overwhelming favourites heading into the T20 World Cup 2021. Expectations were high from Virat Kohli's men, who had played some amazing cricket in the build-up to the World Cup and dominated across formats. However, what unfolded in the UAE was hard to believe for many as India's campaign came crashing down in a matter of just two games.

Two games was all it took as the Men in Blue found themselves on the verge of an early exit from the competition. A lot was said about India's unbeaten record against Pakistan in World Cups with not many writing off the Babar Azam-led side even before they took the field against their arch-rivals in the opener in Dubai on October 24.

Pakistan produced a brilliant all-round performance to thoroughly outclass India and win the game by ten wickets to get off to a perfect start in the tournament. India's defeat not only marked an end to their flawless streak in World Cup matches against Pakistan but did enough damage to the team's confidence as they looked out of sorts in the next game against New Zealand.

In what was a painful repeat of the thrashing at the hands of Pakistan, New Zealand crushed India by eight wickets to further dent their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals. Just when it looked like Kohli's team was set for an early exit from the tournament, India bounced back emphatically to thrash Afghanistan and Scotland in their next two games and keep their hopes alive.

However, their fate was no more in their hands with the Kohli-led side in desperate need of a favour from Afghanistan to finish above them and New Zealand in terms of net run rate. India needed Afghanistan to beat New Zealand to help them salvage their campaign, however, the Mohammad Nabi-led side suffered an 8-wicket defeat in their final Super 12 clash on Sunday to confirm India's exit from the tournament.

Not many Indian players have so far managed to impress in the ongoing T20 World Cup but there have been a few who have risen after a disappointing start and have helped the team stage a fightback after what was a disastrous start. Here we take a look at the hits and flops from Team India's campaign so far in the T20 World Cup 2021 with a game to spare against Namibia.

Hits

1) KL Rahul

Opening batter KL Rahul has been one of the few sparks in the Indian team from what has been an abysmal campaign so far in the T20 World Cup. Rahul faltered in the first two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand with 21 runs combined, before redeeming himself with two brilliant knocks in the next two games.

The stylish right-hander roared back to form with a classy 69 off 48 balls against Afghanistan where he slammed two sixes and six fours to help India register a big win by 66 runs. He continued his stunning form against Scotland as he took the Scottish bowlers to the cleaners to race away to a fifty off just 18 balls, helping India chase down 89 runs in just 39 balls.

Rahul smashed six fours and three sixes in his fiery cameo as India absolutely mauled Scotland. Rahul is India's highest run-getter so far in the tournament with 140 runs from 4 matches.

2) Jasprit Bumrah

After a disappointing outing against Pakistan where all Indian bowlers went wicket-less, Bumrah was the first Indian to pick up a wicket in the tournament. He dismissed Martin Guptill in the game against New Zealand to open India's wicket account in the tournament and followed it up with the dismissal of Daryl Mitchell in the same game.

Bumrah bowled at an economy of 4.80 and was India's best bowler against the Kiwis but his efforts were not enough to push India over the line.

He finished with excellent figures of 1/25 in his 4 overs against Afghanistan before wreaking havoc against Scotland. Bumrah bowled at an economy of just 2.70 in his two overs against Scotland, conceding 10 runs to return with two wickets. Fair to say, Bumrah has been one of the most consistent bowlers for the Men in Blue so far and has 5 wickets to his name in four matches.

3) Mohammed Shami

Trolled viciously after an off day against Pakistan, Mohammed Shami has since scripted a remarkable turnaround in the tournament. Shami was targeted over his faith and was on the receiving end of horrific abuse on social media after his poor outing against Babar Azam's men. He once again went wicket-less against New Zealand as questions were raised over his place in the team.

Shami's redemption came against Afghanistan where he picked up the important wickets of Mohammad Shehzad and Mohammad Nabi to derail their batting line-up and finish with sublime figures of 3/32 in his four overs. That was just the start as Shami once again wreaked havoc against Scotland.

The senior pacer responded to his critics in style as he picked up another three-wicket haul against Scotland while conceding only 15 runs from his 3 overs. Shami has been India's highest wicket-taker so far in the tournament with six wickets from four matches.

Flops

1) Bhuvneshwar Kumar

One of the senior-most members of the Indian squad in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021, Buvneshwar has been around for several years now. He was once undroppable in T20s for India but the right-arm speedster has been struggling with his form ever since his return from injury last year.

Bhuvneshwar played in India's ten-wicket loss against Pakistan in the opener and was taken to the cleaners by Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to concede 25 runs in his three overs without taking a wicket. He was dropped for Shardul Thakur in the next game against New Zealand before sitting out in the next two games as well.

There were a lot of expectations from Bhuvneshwar as one of India's prominent bowlers in the T20 World Cup but he has had a disappointing campaign.

2) Hardik Pandya

The star all-rounder didn't bowl at all in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 for Mumbai Indians but was picked purely as a batter in the World Cup squad despite question marks over his place in the side. While he didn't bowl in the first game against Pakistan, Hardik clearly struggled with the bat.

He also picked up a shoulder injury during the game and was later taken for scans leading to questions over his fitness. Hardik was expected to be one of the vital cogs of India's wheel in the T20 World Cup and be a game-changer for the Kohli-led side, however, he has failed to deliver with both the bat and the ball in the tournament.

Though he has resumed bowling from the New Zealand game, Hardik is yet to make a significant contribution with the ball and his 13-ball 35 against Afghanistan has been his only major contribution with the bat so far in this year's T20 World Cup.

3) Varun Chakaravarthy

Touted as a rising mystery spinner, Varun Chakaravarthy has been a huge letdown for Team India at the T20 World Cup so far. He was picked over the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the T20 World Cup squad but has failed to live up to the expectations in what has been a woeful campaign for him so far.

After going wicket-less in the first two games against Pakistan and New Zealand, Chakaravarthy was rightfully dropped from the playing XI against Afghanistan before making a comeback in the Scotland encounter. He once again failed to pick up a wicket against Scotland and is yet to open his account despite having bowled 11 overs in the tournament so far.

Flops 1) Bhuvneshwar Kumar One of the senior-most members of the Indian squad in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021, Buvneshwar has been around for several years now. 2) Hardik Pandya The star all-rounder didn't bowl at all in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 for Mumbai Indians but was picked purely as a batter in the World Cup squad despite question marks over his place in the side. 3) Varun Chakaravarthy Touted as a rising mystery spinner, Varun Chakaravarthy has been a huge letdown for Team India at the T20 World Cup so far.

Hits and flops from India's T20 World Cup 2021 campaign

Virat Kohli-led Team India are out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 even before they could have taken the field against Namibia for their final Super 12 clash on Monday (November 08). Afghanistan's eight-wicket loss against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi on Sunday confirmed India's exit from the tournament.

India's campaign got off to the worst possible start in this year's T20 World Cup as the Men in Blue lost to arch-rivals Pakistan by ten wickets before New Zealand handed them an eight-wicket thrashing in the next game. India bounced back and won their next two games on the trot by big margins to ensure they remain alive in the race for a spot in the semis.

However, their fate rested in the hands of Afghanistan, who needed to beat New Zealand to keep India alive in the tournament. Afghanistan failed to defend a low-key total of 124 runs in their final Super 12 game on Sunday as they lost by eight wickets.

The defeat not only sealed India's fate but also confirmed Afghanistan's ouster from the tournament as both teams exited from the group stages respectively. Batting first, Afghanistan looked set to post a competitive total on the board as Najibullah Zadran slammed a brilliant knock of 73 runs off 48 balls.

However, he failed to find support from the other end as Afghanistan could only manage 125 runs on the board. New Zealand chased down the target with 11 balls to spare and registered a comfortable win to finish second in Group 2 and move into the semis.

India will play Namibia in their final Super 12 game on Monday but the game will be of little or no significance as far as the semi-finals are concerned as even a win for India will see them finish third on the points table behind Pakistan and New Zealand.
