Diego Maradona reveals he has a dream present to mark his 60th birthday on Friday - "to score another goal against England, this time with my right hand".

The Argentine legend made the impish suggestion in an interview with France Football in reference to his 'Hand of God' goal against England in the 1986 World Cup quarter-finals, with Argentina going on to take the title.

In the past when asked about the handball he has said: "If I could&nbsp;apologise&nbsp;and go back and change history I would do. But the goal is still a goal, Argentina became world champions and I was the best player in the world."&nbsp;

When asked what he dreams about these days, he says: "I dream of being able to score another goal agaist the English, with the right hand this time."

In a more serious vein in Wednesday's interview he suggested his greatest pride was "to have made people happy through football".

"I feel that I've given pleasure and amusement to those who watched me in the stadiums or on television," the Argentine legend told France Football.

Maradona's birthday celebrations may be compromised as he is currently in self-isolation after a bodyguard tested positive for Covid-19.

The pandemic he says "is a real hard blow for the people of Latin America".

Maradona, who has a history of drug and alcohol abuse and poor health, is considered at high risk of coronavirus complications should he be infected.

He has suffered two heart attacks in the past and contracted hepatitis.

Several weeks ago he went into self-isolation after one of his players contracted the virus with Argentina alone recording more than a million positive cases amongst its 44 million population with 29,000 deaths.

His latest job since hanging up his boots sees him in the post of manager of Argentin first division side Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, who are due to play on the day of his birthday

In what is presented as his first interview in French media for 25 years Maradona suggests Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo "are a cut above the other" players around at the moment.

"Not one is able to do half of what they can," he said.

Hand of God 'with my right' - Maradona's dream 60th birthday gift

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said he expects Hakim Ziyech to prove his value after the Moroccan star scored his first goal for the club in Wednesday's 4-0 win away to Krasnodar in the Champions League.

Jorginho missed a penalty for Chelsea but Callum Hudson-Odoi put the Blues in front before half-time after a mistake by Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvei Safonov.

Timo Werner smashed in a spot-kick on 76 minutes to double Chelsea's lead, with Ziyech and Christian Pulisic adding late goals in Russia.

"Hakim Ziyech has worked really hard to be fit, and I was very excited to get his quality in the team," said Lampard.

"I thought his performance was very, very good when you consider he hasn't started a match since March, when the Dutch league finished."

Ziyech joined from Ajax for a reported £37 million ($48 million) in the summer but missed the beginning of the season with a knee problem.

The 27-year-old had made three cameos as a substitute before earning his first start in Krasnodar -- a journey of some 3,500 kilometres from London.&nbsp;

"It's been frustrating for him and for us. His injury has meant he hasn't been able to start, but what I've seen in training and what I knew we were signing is a player of immense quality with personality to receive the ball and find assists and goals," said Lampard.

"We saw a lot of glimpses of that today, and he will get better.

"We brought him in to do a job, maybe people have forgotten a bit because we signed him in January and he missed the start of the season, but tonight he showed he is here."

Chelsea moved up to four points at the top of Group E after two matches, level with Sevilla who beat Rennes 1-0 in Spain.

<h2>- Safonov gifts opener -</h2>

Antonio Rudiger made his first appearance of the season for Chelsea, lining up alongside Kurt Zouma in central defence as Thiago Silva was rested.&nbsp;

Krasnodar drew their opening game of the group in Rennes last week, and Daniil Utkin forced Edouard Mendy to dive full-length to tip behind his curling shot inside five minutes.

Chelsea were awarded a penalty when Werner was clipped by Brazilian defender Kaio, but Jorginho's effort hit the post and bounced off Safonov before Krasnodar scrambled clear.

Hudson-Odoi made the most of his opportunity playing behind Werner, and benefitted from a goalkeeping error to break the deadlock on 37 minutes.

The England international's low drive looked routine for Safonov, who was excellent in Krasnodar's opening game, but the Russia Under-21 'keeper allowed the ball to slip through his grasp.

Yuri Gazinski struck the bar for Krasnodar as he volleyed into the ground at a corner 10 minutes into the second half.

Chelsea then earned a second penalty when Aleksandr Martynovich was harshly penalised for a handball as he sought to block an attempt from Pulisic.

With Jorginho having been substituted, Werner took over spot-kick duties and lashed the ball beyond Safonov.

Krasnodar were only able to name five outfield players on the bench, Magomed Suleymanov the oldest among them at just 20.

The visitors took advantage of their tiring opponents as some Pulisic trickery allowed Werner to lay off to Ziyech, who tucked a neat finish beyond a crowd of defenders.

Pulisic delivered a fourth in the final minute when he combined with Tammy Abraham before shooting through the legs of Safonov.

Marcus Rashford was again the star for Manchester United in the Champions League with a hat-trick in a 5-0 thumping of RB Leipzig on Wednesday as Barcelona put their off-field troubles to one side to win 2-0 away to a Juventus side deprived of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rashford's late goal earned United a 2-1 victory away to Paris Saint-Germain last week and at Old Trafford the England striker came on as a second-half substitute and scored three times from the 74th minute on in what was a fine win against last season's semi-finalists.

Paul Pogba released Mason Greenwood to open the scoring in the first half, before the youngster made way for Rashford after the break and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side ran away with the game to make it two wins from two in Group H.

Anthony Martial also netted from the penalty spot as United ruthlessly exposed the side who currently top the German Bundesliga and went clear at the top of the section.

"We looked dangerous throughout and that we could score every time we went forward," said Rashford. "It was a real team performance."

Meanwhile PSG got their campaign up and running by beating Istanbul Basaksehir 2-0 in Turkey, although they lost Neymar to an adductor injury in the first half.

Both PSG's goals were scored in the second half by Moise Kean, the on-loan Everton striker heading in Kylian Mbappe's corner in the 64th minute and then turning to fire in the second late on.

<h2>- Barca bounce back -</h2>

In Italy Barcelona bounced back from their weekend defeat in the Clasico against Real Madrid and shut out the boardroom crisis which led to president Josep Maria Bartomeu resigning on Tuesday.

Ronald Koeman's side had luck on their side as they took the lead through a deflected Ousmane Dembele strike and then saw Alvaro Morata have three goals disallowed for offside for the hosts.

The absence of Ronaldo because of a positive coronavirus test meant no chance to see him renew his on-field rivalry with Lionel Messi, but the Argentine got his name on the scoresheet late on, netting a stoppage-time penalty to seal Barca's second victory in as many Group G outings.

"This was our best game all season," said Koeman.&nbsp;

"The team reacted well, despite the resignation of the president. We were focused on the football because all the other stuff is not our responsibility."

Juve had Turkish defender Merih Demirel sent off late on as their underwhelming start to the season under novice coach Andrea Pirlo continued.

Their next game is away at Ferencvaros, who came from behind to draw 2-2 with 10-man Dynamo Kiev in Budapest.

<h2>- Ziyech impresses, Haaland on target -</h2>

&nbsp;

Viktor Tsygankov's penalty and a Carlos de Pena effort had the Ukrainians in control but they then had captain Sergiy Sydorchuk sent off and the hosts -- with a sizeable crowd behind them -- took full advantage.

Tokmac Nguen pulled one back and Ivorian Franck Boli scrambled in a stoppage-time leveller for the Hungarians.

In Group E Chelsea were comprehensive 4-0 winners away to Krasnodar in Russia, with Jorginho missing a penalty before Callum Hudson-Odoi opened the scoring.

Timo Werner smashed in a spot-kick on 76 minutes to double Chelsea's lead, with Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic adding late goals.

Sevilla beat Rennes 1-0 in the same section with Luuk de Jong scoring the only goal.

Borussia Dortmund claimed their first points in Group F with Jadon Sancho's 78th-minute penalty and Erling Braut Haaland's stoppage-time strike securing a 2-0 win over Zenit Saint-Petersburg.

The Germans are a point behind Lazio and Club Brugge, who drew 1-1 in Belgium with a Hans Vanaken penalty securing a draw for the hosts.

Lazio had travelled without a host of players due to coronavirus, including star striker Ciro Immobile, but had gone in front early on through Joaquin Correa.

Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara has urged MS Dhoni to play competitive cricket in the build-up to the next edition of <a href="https://www.wionews.com/ipl">Indian Premier League (IPL)</a> while hoping that the veteran gloveman returns to lead the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021.

Dhoni hasn’t looked in his best of touch in IPL 2020 thus far as rustiness crept in his batting. Even Dhoni himself conceded that he has struggled to find form due to lack of cricket and practice in the last 12 months.

".... you will always have a season or series where you're off the boil, and this is MS's. It has reflected on the team's fortunes as well. And it's something you get to expect. You can over analyse it, you analyse it any which way, it just happens. And it's happened at the back end of MSD's career.

"But that doesn't make him a lesser player or less important for CSK at all. It's just one of those phases that he has got to deal with and he's got to come out of it," Kumar Sangakkara told Star Sports on Thursday.

So far in IPL 2020, Dhoni has managed to score just 199 runs in 12 matches at a mere average of 28.42. His IPL career average is 41.32. Dhoni hasn’t scored a single half-century in the tournament.

However, Sangakkara stated that one bad season doesn’t make Dhoni a lesser player or less important for CSK in the future.

"I am sure he is hungry to keep playing, hungry to perform. Knowing MSD, he would much rather take a team win than a half-century for himself. That's the way he has been built, that's the way he has always thought. If he can contribute to it in any way, even by scoring 10 runs he'd be happy.

Speaking of the match between Juventus and Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring for Barcelona after a fine pass by Lionel Messi. Juventus constantly created openings and it was the VAR, who ruled goals by Alvaro Morata thrice during the course of 90 minutes. When Juventus were trailing 1-0 to Barca, Merih Demiral got his second yellow card in the match as the referee gave him the marching order. Messi soon made it 2-0 from the spot to seal a convincing 2-0 win against Ronaldo-less Juventus.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo missed the match after testing positive for COVID-19 – for the third time in the last couple of weeks. Sevilla FC’s CEO Jose Maria Cruz has said that that the Spanish club&nbsp;wants to help Indian football grow while urging the fans of the beautiful game to remain patient as it is a long-term project. He further said that Sevilla FC want to learn about Indian football and its culture before taking definite steps in a bid to nurture the unearthed talent in India.&nbsp;

<h2>"Long-term process"</h2>

“Yes, we want to come to India but we will never pretend to share our experience and expertise straightaway as we need to learn more about Indian football and culture first. It is a long term process. Even though we are very experienced in Spanish football and European football, we don’t pretend to transfer it to Indian players right away,” Sevilla FC CEO Jose Maria Cruz told WION during a media interaction.

Jose Maria Cruz further said that Sevilla FC don’t want to start in a rush and abandon the project in a few months – similar cases have happened not only India but other parts of the world as well – and the Spanish club intends to help the Indian football only after gaining in-depth knowledge about the footballing culture in the country, who hosted the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2017.

<h2>Sevilla FC want to work with Indian people and help Indian football: Jose Maria Cruz</h2>

“We don’t pretend to start with a lot of resources, sending our coaches or build new infrastructure because, before that, we need to have the best knowledge about Indian football and the players. We don’t pretend to start a school in six months and then abandon it in a few months. We need to start analyzing, studying and learning about people working there and then we can share our experience. We believe we can help Indian football and want to work in India with local people,” Sevilla FC’s CEO added.

He further ruled out the possibility of Sevilla FC buying a club in India but explained that they want to trigger the passion of football lovers in India to not only bolster the growth of Indian football but also pull them towards Sevilla FC. Cruz further revealed that the club wants to focus on charity and social projects. Working with top entrepreneurs in India to help the football industry is also something Sevilla FC are excited to work towards. However, it will be more of learning first before bringing in their expertise.

<h2>We want people of India to love Sevilla FC and city of Seville: Cruz</h2>

“In principle, we don’t intend to invest in Indian club or to be their partners or be the owner of an Indian club. Our intention is co-operating with an Indian club in order to try to demonstrate our experience along with the talent of local players and how it can improve on a long-term basis. Our intention is to create an interest for Sevilla FC, make more people follow and love Sevilla FC and also knowing the city of Seville. On the other hand, our agreement with this team is more than a sporting agreement. Our agreement is with a group of top Indian entrepreneurs and we want to learn and participate in some of the groups of these entrepreneurs,” Cruz explained.

“Firstly, in charity and social projects and secondly, in high-technology projects. I see India as a country with young people with a lot of capacity in new technology and Sevilla FC want to participate in new projects of technology which can be applied in the football industry. We have to apply ourselves and learn at the same time. In this case, we will not provide knowledge in first but gather it to help Indian football on a long-term basis,” he added.

Sevilla, who have previously won one La Liga and five Copa del Reys, ended their four-year trophy drought after defeating Inter Milan in the continental competition’s final back in August. Now, with the club amongst the elite of Europe, it has planned out a collaboration to increase their international presence.

However, before concluding Cruz gave away a hint for the future as he said Sevilla FC are looking to enter into a partnership with an unnamed Indian club by December in a bid to create a sporting asset.

Now, we are aiming to announce a long-term partnership with an unnamed Indian club by December with who we want to create a sporting asset,” said Cruz.

Sevilla FC set eyes on Indian football, to partner with unnamed club soon: CEO

Holders Bayern Munich continued their perfect start to their Champions League title defence on Tuesday as Real Madrid had Casemiro's late goal to thank for scrambling a 2-2 draw away to Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Liverpool and Manchester City also made it six points out of a possible six in Europe this season, after Bayern needed a late Joshua Kimmich strike to claim a 2-1 win at Lokomotiv Moscow in Group A.&nbsp;

Leon Goretzka put the Germans ahead early on in front of a limited crowd in the Russian capital, but Anton Miranchuk tucked in an equaliser for Lokomotiv in the second half -- Miranchuk's twin brother Aleksei scored for Atalanta in the Champions League last week.

But Bayern were not to be denied a record 13th straight win in the competition as Kimmich controlled a Javi Martinez pass and volleyed home low from outside the box 11 minutes from time.

"We had to work hard for the victory," Kimmich admitted to broadcaster DAZN.

In the same group Atletico Madrid came from behind to beat Salzburg 3-2, with Joao Felix grabbing their late winner.

The Portuguese starlet had hit the bar with a stunning overhead kick before Marcos Llorente put Atletico ahead in the Spanish capital.

Dominik Szoboszlai levelled before the break and then a Felipe own goal put Salzburg ahead just after half-time.

However, Joao Felix equalised on 52 minutes and then won it five minutes from the end.

&nbsp;

<h2>- City cruise -</h2>

&nbsp;

In Germany, Real were heading for another defeat in Group B, six days after losing 3-2 at home to Shakhtar Donetsk, as Marcus Thuram netted twice for Gladbach, either side of half-time.

But Casemiro set up Karim Benzema to reduce the deficit in the 87th minute and the Brazilian midfielder then scored himself deep in injury time to salvage a point for Zinedine Zidane's team.

"If we continue to play like that, we'll do great things and we'll win matches, that's for sure," said Zidane.

It is Shakhtar who lead the section, though, by two points from Inter Milan and Gladbach, after a 0-0 draw with the Italians in Kiev.

Pep Guardiola's City eased to a second straight win in Group C with Kevin De Bruyne setting up Ferran Torres for the early opener against Marseille after the hosts had carelessly ceded possession.

Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling added late goals to make it 3-0, leaving Marseille without a point.

Guardiola was confident City could build on their victory after an indifferent start to the Premier League season which has seen them come in for criticism.

"Part of the criticism was right, but you've got to accept it. It's part of our job," Guardiola told BT Sport.

"It's about where we've come from in the last month, with lack of preparation, injuries and Covid-19, but the Champions League is in a good place now."

In the same group Porto beat Olympiakos 2-0 in Portugal with Fabio Vieira and Sergio Oliveira on target.

<h2>- 'Tough night' for Liverpool -</h2>

Meanwhile, Liverpool built on their 1-0 victory at Ajax last week by defeating Danish champions Midtjylland 2-0 in a low-key game behind closed doors at Anfield in Group D.

Diogo Jota finished off a fine move to give Jurgen Klopp's team the lead early in the second half, before Mohamed Salah made sure of the points with a late penalty.

Klopp rested Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino from his starting line-up but his defensive worries deepened as Fabinho went off with an apparent hamstring injury.

"It was a tough night," Klopp told BT Sport.

"It's a bit like in a marriage, there are good and bad times. It's not a bad time but it's a tricky time."

He added: "It was a hard game to play. But winning 2-0 is completely fine so that's it -- let's carry on."

Liverpool now have a double-header against Atalanta, who came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to Ajax.

A Dusan Tadic penalty put the visitors ahead on the half-hour and Lassina Traore made it two, only for Duvan Zapata to save Atalanta with two goals in the space of seven second-half minutes.

It's not a bad time but it's a tricky time." He added: "It was a hard game to play. But winning 2-0 is completely fine so that's it -- let's carry on." Liverpool now have a double-header against Atalanta, who came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to Ajax. A Dusan Tadic penalty put the visitors ahead on the half-hour and Lassina Traore made it two, only for Duvan Zapata to save Atalanta with two goals in the space of seven second-half minutes.

World champion sprinter Christian Coleman is set to miss next year's Tokyo Olympics after being banned from athletics for two years for anti-doping violations, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced on Tuesday.

The American, who won the men's 100 metres at last year's World Championships in Doha, was provisionally suspended for three 'whereabouts failures' in June.

World Athletics' Disciplinary Tribunal upheld the charge and banned Coleman for two years, backdated to 14 May, 2020.

The 24-year-old has 30 days to appeal against the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

He is set to miss next year's Olympic Games in Japan, where he would have been among the favourites to win 100m gold.

Coleman, who is also the 60m world record holder, only ran in the 4x100m relay heats in his first Olympic appearance in Rio de Janeiro four years ago.

The AIU charged Coleman for missed tests in January and December 2019, as well as for a "filing failure" last April.

To prove an anti-doping violation, an athlete has to have committed three whereabouts failures within 12 months.

Coleman previously escaped suspension on a technicality ahead of last September's World Championships.

Those three whereabouts failures were recorded on June 6, 2018, January 16, 2019 and April 26, 2019.

However, Coleman had successfully argued that the first missed case should have been backdated to the first day of the quarter -- April 1, 2018 -- meaning the three failures fell just outside the required 12-month period.

But now the missed test on December 9, 2019, added to the two failures in January and April, have seen Coleman suspended.

"I think the attempt on December 9th was a purposeful attempt to get me to miss a test," Coleman said after he was charged in June.

"Don't tell me I 'missed' a test if you sneak up on my door &nbsp;-- parked outside the gate and walked through... there's no record of anyone coming to my place -- without my knowledge."

Two-year suspensions can be reduced to one year if there are mitigating circumstances, but the tribunal rejected any chance of a reduction.

"We regret to say that we do not think there is any mitigation which can fairly be relied upon to reduce the sanction from the two-year period," the tribunal said in its findings.

"Unfortunately, we see this case as involving behaviour by the athlete as very careless at best and reckless at worst."

Coleman's suspension comes a week after doping charges brought against Bahrain's women's 400m world champion Salwa Eid Naser were dismissed.

<h2>- 'More than ready' -</h2>

In June, Coleman said testers had visited when he was out shopping for Christmas presents nearby, verifiable by bank statements and receipts.

"I was more than ready and available for testing and if I had received a phone call I could've taken the drug test and carried on with my night," he said.

"I was only made aware of this attempted drug test the next day on December 10th, 2019 by the AIU when I got this failed attempt report out of nowhere."

The report from the doping control officer posted by Coleman said the tester had arrived at his apartment and had failed to get a response after "multiple, loud knocks were made every 10 minutes" for an hour.

A doorbell next to Coleman's door was pressed but no ring could be heard. No attempt to reach Coleman by phone was made, according to the document.

"I've been contacted by phone literally every other time I've been tested," Coleman said. "Literally. (I don't know) why this time was different. He even said he couldn't hear the doorbell so why wouldn't you call me?"&nbsp;

Coleman last competed at the US Indoor Championships in February, running a world-leading 6.37 seconds in the 60m, just three hundredths of a second slower than his world record.

He also posted the best 100m time last year -- the 9.76sec he ran to win the world title.

'Careless' Coleman set to miss Olympics after being handed two-year ban

Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive again for coronavirus on the eve of Juventus's &nbsp;Champions League clash against his great rival Lionel Messi's Barcelona, according to media reports in Italy and Portugal.

Portuguese TVI reported that Ronaldo "has once against tested positive for Covid-19" following a swab carried out by Juventus.

The 35-year-old is now awaiting the result of a UEFA test which, if also positive, would rule him out of the Group G game in Turin.

Ronaldo first tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks ago while playing with Portugal, and has been in self-isolation since returning to Italy.

According to TV1, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has tested positive 18 times.

Ronaldo needed to return a negative test, 24 hours before the game to be allowed to play, according to UEFA rules.

Juventus only confirm if a player has recovered, with Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting that Ronaldo will miss the Barcelona game.

"Ronaldo had a test like everyone else, this evening (Tuesday) we will have the definitive result," coach Andrea Pirlo told a press conference earlier Tuesday.

"For now it's all on the high seas, when the final result comes everything will be clearer.

"Depending on the result, we'll see what we do. It's not easy to play an entire game after 15 days of inactivity."

Ronaldo, who has no symptoms, has missed three games including his side's 2-0 Champions League win at Dynamo Kiev last week.

The clash would be the first between Ronaldo and Messi since the Portugal forward left Real Madrid for Juventus in 2018.

"For 15 years, Messi and Ronaldo have done great things," said former Italy and Juventus midfielder Pirlo.&nbsp;

"For the first time, I'll be taking on Messi as a coach, I'll treat him with the enormous respect that he deserves."

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman added: "We always want the best to be on the pitch, and Ronaldo is a great player.&nbsp;

"I don't know if he will be in condition to play, that's not my problem. But if Ronaldo is there, it is one more reason for us to be ready."

Koeman, like Pirlo, has taken over as coach this season, with the teams top of Group G after winning their opening fixtures.

But the Dutch manager has been under pressure after a 3-1 defeat against Real Madrid at the weekend followed a 1-0 loss to Getafe, the first time in four years the Catalan giants have suffered consecutive defeats in the league.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu also resigned on Tuesday along with his board of directors, following mounting pressure from fans and his public falling out with Messi.

<h2>- 'Not a decisive game' -</h2>

&nbsp;

Ronaldo and Messi now look set to meet again in the reverse fixture at the Nou Camp on December 8.

Messi, 33, has featured in four victorious campaigns for Barcelona, while Ronaldo has won the Champions League five times, four with Real Madrid and once with Manchester United.

Messi has six Ballon d'Or titles with Ronaldo claiming five.

However Ronaldo has 130 Champions League goals to Messi's 116.

"It's clear that any team would miss a player like Cristiano," said Brazil defender Danilo at the pre-match press conference.

"But we have faith in every player on the team. We have people who want to do well and help us have a great match."

Messi has won 16 of their 35 encounters to Ronaldo's 10, with the remaining nine ending in draws.

The pair have only met five times in Champions League games, most recently in the semi-final in 2011.

Pirlo also has defensive worries with captain Giorgio Chiellini, and Matthijs De Ligt out but fellow centreback Leonardo Bonucci's thigh strain will be evaluated on Wednesday morning.

"These are the matches that everyone would like to play. We have this opportunity and we can't wait to test ourselves against Barcelona," said Pirlo.&nbsp;

"It's not a decisive game, but we still want to see what our value is."

Argentina forward Paulo Dybala remains "a bit tired" after playing for 90 minutes in his first match in over three months last Sunday against Verona.

"It's normal after the first game as a starter. He'll have time to recover and play tomorrow night."&nbsp;

Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah on Wednesday touched a major milestone in the shortest format of the game, against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Abu Dhabi as two top teams in <a href="https://www.wionews.com/ipl">Indian Premier League (IPL)</a> locked horns.&nbsp;

Bumrah dismissed Virat Kohli with a sharp bouncer and with the scalp, the Indian pacer reached the 100-IPL wicket landmark becoming only the 15th bowler to do so. Not only that, with Kohli’s wicket, Bumrah also completed 200 T20 wickets while becoming the sixth bowler to achieve the feat.

Other Indian bowlers to have scalped more than 200 T20 wickets are: Piyush Chawla (257), Amit Mishra (256), Ravichandran Ashwin (242), Harbhajan Singh (235) and Yuzvendra Chahal (205).

Chahal touched the milestone a couple of weeks ago in the IPL 2020 match against Kings XI Punjab after sending Mayank Agarwal back to the hut.

Bumrah, like always, has been in sublime form with the ball in IPL 2020 and is the third-highest wicket-taker thus far with 18 wickets in 11 matches.

Meanwhile, ahead of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, stand-in MI skipper Kieron Pollard hoped for a better show by the MI team following their crushing defeat to Rajasthan Royals, where Ben Stokes smashed a terrific century.

With India’s tour of Australia later in the year getting the final nod, authorities are looking for at least 25,000 people per day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during the Boxing Day Test, a government official said on Wednesday.

Melbourne was released from COVID-19 lockdown on Wednesday with retail and hospitality business opening their doors for the first time in months.&nbsp;

Victoria state sports minister Martin Pakula said that the government is looking to develop a plan with Cricket Australia and the MCG in a bid to allow one-quarter of a capacity crowd in the famed 100,000-seat MCG for the Boxing Day Test starting on December 26.&nbsp;

“We’ve been really clear with Cricket Australia and the MCG that we’ll make final decisions about numbers closer to the day, depending on the epidemiological situation that abides at the time,” he said.

“At this stage, (25,000) is what we believe would be the safe and appropriate number per day here at the MCG.”

Pakula further said that the numbers of supporters could rise if the health situation improves. However, Melbourne’s unlock came too late for Australia’s biggest week in horse racing. The carnival attracts crowds to the tune of 90,000 on major races and is crowed by the A$8 million ($5.7 million) Melbourne Cup, which is run on the first Tuesday in November at Flemington and known as “the race that stops the nation”.

“The view the government came to was it wasn’t appropriate in the circumstances to have hundreds of owners congregating at Flemington next week,” said Pakula.

“There will be a time for that but next week is not that time.”

Novak Djokovic on Tuesday defeated Filip Krajinovic in the first round in Vienna and the Serbian ace edged closer to Pete Sampras’ all-time record of ending the year as world number one on six occasions. Djokovic won against Krajinovic 7-4 (8/6), 6-3 and requires just one win in Austria against Borna Coric to make sure he equals the achievement of his childhood idol.

The world number one has been a top-ranked player at the end of a season five times thus far: in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2018.
Djokovic currently shares the record with rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. However, Sampras achieved the illustrious feat six years in succession between 1993 and 1998.

Djokovic, who was playing in Vienna for the first time since 2007, dropped serve twice in a tricky opening set. However, he cruised past Krajinovic without breaking much sweat following the tie-break.

Klopp, after the match, said that Fabinho told him he could carry on with the game but without sprinting and hence, the Liverpool managed decided to substitute him. With Van Dijk, Fabinho and Joel Matip injured, Klopp will now look towards his young guns.&nbsp;

“It’s exactly the last thing we needed,” said Klopp, after Fabinho limped off in the first-half of the 2-0 win.

“Rhys Williams he’s only 19-years old and I think he’s played more Champions League games than Premier League games - that’s rare. We’re doing really well but its a shock for a team because now we have to sort that injury,” added Klopp.

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been making the headlines after the Indian selectors announced the squad for upcoming Australia tour while keeping the ‘Hitman’ out of ODI, T20I and Test squads citing injury. Mumbai Indians are set to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday as the battle for top 2 spots heats up in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Both MI and RCB are equal in the points table with 14 points under their respective belts in 11 matches. However, better net run-rate means, Mumbai Indians sit atop the IPL 2020 standings. <o:p></o:p>

Both RCB and MI can move a step close to achieving qualification to IPL 2020 playoffs. However, a win this evening still won’t guarantee a spot in playoffs, which resembles how tightly the tournament is being fought by all the teams.

India’s tour of Australia next month has received a green signal from the Australian government with Sydney and Canberra set to serve as the starting points of the full-fledged series between two top sides.

Cricket Australia and the New South Wales state government have agreed to a deal for the touring team and Australian players returning from the IPL as the players will undergo quarantine in Sydney while getting access to nearby training facilities in a bid to prepare for the gruelling tour.

Confirmation of quarantine protocols were handed after NSW government’s approval on Thursday but will need a final sign-off from the BCCI.&nbsp;

<h2>Indian players want families with them in Australia</h2>

However, Cricket Australia is unlikely to allow families inside the bio-secure bubble and it has irked a few Indian players, some of those are without families during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in the UAE.

Even some of the players have informed the Indian board that it would be difficult for them to be inside another bio-bubble without their families.

Notably, talks are still underway between the BCCI and CA in a bid to allow families to be part of the bio-bubble. However, it is unlikely that the CA will give it a green signal.&nbsp;

Wriddhiman Saha stamped his class with a 45-ball 87 before Rashid Khan dished out a clinical bowling performance as Sunrisers Hyderabad kept themselves alive in the race for IPL play-offs with a whopping 88-run win over Delhi Capital, here on Tuesday.

Asked to bat first, splendid knocks by Saha (87), skipper David Warner (66) and Manish Pandey (44) powered Sunrisers to 219 for two.

Star spinner Rashid then led a fine bowling display to end with the impressive figures of 4-0-7-3, his best in this season.

The Afghan bowled an astonishing 17 dot balls in his quota of four overs, helping his side bowl out the Capitals for 131 in 19 overs.

Sunrisers (10 points) have now moved up to sixth from seventh position with this win, while the Capitals, who slumped to their third consecutive loss, were pushed down to the third spot with 14 points.

Chasing a stiff target, it was a rather ordinary performance by the the Capitals batsmen. Shikhar Dhawan (0) and Marcus Stoinis (5), who was elevated to number 3, perished in the first two overs.

Ajinkya Rahane (26) and Shimron Heytmyer (16) quickly started the recovery work, stitching a 40 run stand, the highest for their team. The duo targeted Jason Holder, collecting 22 runs in the sixth over as Delhi reached 54 for two at the end of the Powerplay overs.

However, Rashid dealt Delhi with twin blows, getting rid of both Rahane and Hetmyer in the seventh over. Skipper Shreyas Iyer (7) was next to depart as wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals.

Seven of Delhi's batsmen failed to reach double digits with Rishabh Pant (36) being the top scorer.

While Rashid was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrisers, Sandeep Sharma (2/27) and T Natarajan (2/26) picked two wickets apiece. Vijay Shankar(1/11), Shahbaz Nadeem (1/8), Holder (1/46) took a wicket each.

Earlier, both openers Warner, who looked in good nick, and Saha, playing his second game of the season, went after the Delhi bowlers from the word go.

Fully capitalising on the field restrictions, the duo smashed boundaries (11 fours and two sixes) every over to collect 77-runs in the first six overs, the best Poweplay figures of the season.

In the sixth over, Warner smashed the tournament's leading wicket-taker Kagiso Rabada (0/54) for four boundaries and a six, helping the Sunrisers reach 100 runs in just 8.4 overs.

Till Warner was taking on the bowlers, Saha played the second fiddle to perfection.

The Australian celebrated his 34th birthday with a half-century off just 25 balls, hitting two sixes and eight fours at the Dubai International Stadium.

To Delhi's relief Ravichandran Ashwin (1/35) broke the 107-run opening stand in the 10th over as he dismissed danger man Warner, who was caught at extra cover by Axar Patel.

With Warner gone, Saha hammered the Capitals bowlers all around the park. The wicketkeeper batsman reached his fifty in style with a boundary. He plundered 12 fours and two sixes before pacer Anrich Nortje (1/37) dismissed him in the 15th over.

Pandey and Kane Williamsion (11 not out) continued the assault on a listless Delhi bowling unit.

All-round Sunrisers Hyderabad outclass Delhi Capitals by 88 runs, keep Play-off hopes alive

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned from the club on Tuesday ahead of a vote of no confidence that was due to be held next month after some 20,000 fans signed a petition demanding that he step down. The rest of the board of directors also resigned.

“It’s a thought-out, serene, informed decision” to resign, Bartomeu said in a televised speech.

Bartomeu, 57, has been facing growing resentment in the last year due to the club’s worsening finances and the team’s decline on the pitch, which came to a head with their 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals in August.

He has been widely criticised after talisman forward Lionel Messi requested a transfer following the Champions League humiliation and was facing a vote of no confidence from the club’s ‘socios’.

He had tried to convince the Catalan government to scrap the censure vote due to the coronavirus pandemic but it would not budge.

Bartomeu called the government’s decision irresponsible in his speech, while thanking the club and saying he could not have resigned earlier.

“The easiest thing after the Champions (League defeat) was to resign, but one had to take decisions amid an unprecedented global crisis,” he said, adding that later on, in the wake of the Messi spat, he could not let the club be run by external, temporary figures.

“Who would have ensured that Messi stayed? Who would have hired a new coach?” said Bartomeu, who took over at Barcelona from Sandro Rosell in 2014.

Messi handed Barca an official notice in August of his desire to terminate his contract before eventually deciding to stay for this season, the last on his current deal, because he did not want to face a legal battle with the club.

After rowing back on his decision to leave, the Argentine continued to attack Bartomeu in a September interview, when he described his stewardship of the club as a “disaster”. He also criticised Barca for their treatment of Luis Suarez, who left the club for Atletico Madrid.

On the pitch, Barca’s struggles have continued into the new campaign after they ended last season trophyless.

Having appointed their former player Ronald Koeman as manager in the close season, Barca have won only two of their opening five league games and lost 3-1 at home to rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.

Hyderabad were placed seventh on the points table when came into Match 47 of the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/ipl">Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020</a>, at Dubai. They piled up 219/2 against Delhi after David Warner (66 in 34 balls) and Wriddhiman Saha (87 in 45) added 107 in 58 balls. Manish Pandey (44* in 31) finished things off. Delhi made a desperate effort, reaching 54/3 in 6 overs, before surrendering against Rashid Khan (4-0-7-3). They were eventually bowled out for a paltry 131.

Joy Bhattacharjya was all in praise of the Warner-Saha onslaught in the My11 Circle Cricbuzz Analysis: “Sensational, stunning batting – and not just that, you know. Normally, in an innings like that you say that when a wicket has fallen, things will start slowing up. What happened in this innings was … they just kept going and kept going and kept going. Warner’s party became Saha’s party became Manish Pandey’s party.”

While echoing Bhattacharjya’s thoughts, Michael Vaughan lambasted the Delhi bowling: “I thought the bowling was atrocious. They didn’t do anything to try and stop them … The lack of bouncers, the lack of wide yorkers, the lack of real quality slower balls – I do think Delhi put it on a plate. I thought it was too easy for them [Hyderabad] to strike it consistently.”

This was Saha’s second match of the season. His last match was over a month ago. “Every opportunity he got, he grabbed with both hands,” said Bhattacharjya, while praising him. “Amazing positivity … Whether it’s practice, he’s playing, not playing, he is amazing.”

“You can’t allow Rashid Khan that kind of start,” added Vaughan, while referring to Rashid’s double-wicket first over. “He has them on a string. He bowls that awkward length where the batsman is in between, he is nipping either in or away from you. He is very, very clever as well: I think he reads the batsman’s mind … He has kind of got the ball in his hand, and he is kind of looking down 22 yards, whoever he is bowling to, I am pretty much sure 90 per cent of the time he is thinking ‘no matter who you are, I’m better than you’.” From 5 matches against Delhi, Rashid’s figures read 20-1-76-10.

The huge defeat meant that Delhi (+0.03) dropped below Bangalore in (+0.092) in net run rate. Both teams are on 14 points, as are table toppers Mumbai, (net run rate +1.252). Hyderabad now jumped past Rajasthan to secure sixth place.

Melbourne’s liberation from its COVID-19 lockdown has boosted hopes of crowds attending some of Australia’s major sporting events in the country’s second-biggest city.

Melbourne’s liberation from its COVID-19 lockdown has boosted hopes of crowds attending some of Australia’s major sporting events in the country’s second-biggest city. The Australian men’s cricket team is slated to host India in the traditional Boxing Day test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from Dec. 26, while the world’s top tennis players are due to play the Australian Open, 2021’s first Grand Slam, in January. Restaurants, pubs and retail businesses in Melbourne, home to 5 million people, will reopen from Wednesday after more than three months under a stringent lockdown. Authorities will also allow limited social visits to houses. “I am very confident we’ll get a crowd at the ‘G (MCG) for the Boxing Day test,” Victoria state premier Daniel Andrews told reporters. “I don’t know how big it will be but there will be a crowd there. “That is the advice I have and that is what we’re working towards.” The 100,000-seat MCG drew more than 80,000 fans to day one of Australia’s Boxing Day test against New Zealand last year. Governing body Cricket Australia are yet to confirm dates for the home summer but the first test of the four-match series against India is expected to start in Adelaide on Dec. 17. The Australian Open starts on Jan. 18 and organisers hope to welcome at least 100,000 domestic spectators, just over 10% of the usual attendance, to Melbourne Park over the course of the two-week tournament.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will be out for perhaps as much as a month, coach Pep Guardiola told a press conference in Marseille on Monday.

City will be without the Argentine on Tuesday against Marseille in the Champions League.&nbsp;

Aguero, who had just returned from injury, suffered a muscle problem in the&nbsp;Premier League draw at West Ham on Saturday.&nbsp;

"We knew he wasn't in the best condition," Guardiola said. "When you are out four or five months for a knee injury you always have the risk when you come back of injuries."

"It will be 10-15 days minimum. If it is longer it will be three weeks to a month. I don't know."

Guardiola said he wants "Sergio to come back when he has fully recovered. We miss him a lot. What he has done for this club is extraordinary, he is a City legend."

Brazilian Gabriel Jesus is also absent, but Guardiola said he did not regret not recruiting a striker in the transfer window.&nbsp;

"We couldn't, the club does what it can, but we lacked income at the end of the season. And then we would need a striker of the level of Gabriel and Sergio, and we don't have the means".&nbsp;

Son Heung-min pounced to steal a 1-0 win for lacklustre Tottenham on Monday, linking up with Harry Kane yet again as Jose Mourinho's side climbed to fifth in the Premier League table.

All of the traditional "big six" clubs have dropped unlikely points in the early weeks of the season and Spurs looked set to leave Turf Moor frustrated.

But South Korea forward Son scored his eighth league goal of the season in the 76th minute, heading in from close range after a headed pass from Kane.

Spurs now have 11 points from six games, just two points behind leaders Everton after their third win of the season.

Mourinho hailed his attacking stars, who have now combined for 29 Premier League goals -- only Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard have managed more, with 36.

"It is an understanding that comes from Maurcio (Pochettino's) time," said Mourinho. "I don't want all the credit myself, let's share with Mauricio.&nbsp;

"They play together for a long time, probably a different way because Harry is not always a nine now.

"What pleases me more about them both is that they are two top players but close friends, no jealousy, they both play for the team."

<h2>- Relief -</h2>

The hard-earned three points will be a huge relief to Mourinho, whose side looked like world beaters earlier this month when they hammered Manchester United 6-1 before blowing a 3-0 lead against West Ham.

Tottenham's attacking momentum vanished at Turf Moor, where they struggled to make an impression against Sean Dyche's side, who remain in the relegation zone, without a win this season.

Kane was able to get behind Burnley's defence in the early minutes following a Toby Alderweireld ball over the top but the England striker's first touch took him too wide and his shot sailed harmlessly over.

There was a lengthy stoppage as Alderweireld needed treatment on a bloody right eyebrow after being caught inadvertently by Ashley Barnes' flailing arm. The Belgian had his head bandaged before play continued.

Slightly against the run of play, Burnley had the ball in the back of the net when Barnes seemingly sprang the offside trap and buried the ball past Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris but the flag went up.

It was not until the 38th minute that the game had its first shot on target, Ashley Westwood bringing a low save out of Lloris after Josh Brownhill had stolen the ball off Tanguy Ndombele on the edge of the area.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson then cut in from the right and forced Lloris into action once more as the home side ended the half on top.

Tottenham again struggled to find their rhythm in the early stages of the second half, with Burnley coming close to taking the lead.

James Tarkowski put a header wide from close range before Mourinho threw on Erik Lamela to replace Lucas Moura in the 57th minute, with Gareth Bale still waiting for his first Premier League start in seven years.

The match sparked into life late on, when Kane cleared another header from Tarkowski off the line.

Son failed to take advantage of a clear chance before Kane flicked on a corner to the South Korean, who dived headlong to break the deadlock and seal the win.

Premier League: Son and Kane to the rescue for lacklustre Spurs

Real Madrid triumphed in the Clasico, Robert Lewandowski kept up his stunning form and Ajax recorded the biggest victory in the history of the Dutch top flight.

AFP Sport rounds up some of the main talking points from the weekend's action across the continent:

<h2>- Real take Clasico honours -</h2>

Rarely in recent years have both Barcelona and Real Madrid come into a Clasico at such a low ebb, but it was Zinedine Zidane's team who emerged from their own mini-crisis with a fine 3-1 win at an empty Camp Nou.

Not for the first time in this fixture there was controversy, with the decision to award Real a crucial second-half penalty leaving Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman furious with the VAR.

Sergio Ramos's spot-kick put the visitors 2-1 up and Luka Modric went on to wrap up the win which saw Real bounce back from suffering consecutive defeats in the week leading up to the game.

They have now lost just once in eight trips to the Camp Nou and the result relieves the pressure on Zidane, while leaving Koeman under the cosh. That is two straight La Liga losses now for Barca, the first time that has happened since April 2016. They are 12th in the table.

<h2>- Another record for Lewandowski -</h2>

Robert Lewandowski's sensational start to this season continued as he bagged a hat-trick in Bayern Munich's 5-0 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Polish striker has 10 goals already and is the first to reach that mark after just five matches of a Bundesliga campaign.

It was a perfect hat-trick, with Lewandowski scoring one each with his left foot, right foot and head. At 32 he is in the form of his life, having scored 55 times in total last season as Bayern won the treble.

<h2>- Lucky 13: Ajax make history -</h2>

Those who thought record wins and double-figure scorelines belonged to the 1930s can think again. On Saturday Ajax set the all-time mark for the biggest victory in the Dutch Eredivisie as they crushed hapless VVV Venlo 13-0 away.

Lassina Traore struck five times as the Amsterdam club outdid Johan Cruyff's Ajax, whose 12-1 win over Vitesse Arnhem had stood as the top flight's record win since May 1972 -- the season they won the league title and the second of their four European Cups.

Traore, the 19-year-old from Burkina Faso, became the first Ajax player to score five in an Eredivisie game since Marco van Basten in 1985.

"We were hungry in the field. We wanted to score goals, and I'm fine with that," said Ajax coach Erik ten Hag, whose team now go to Atalanta in the Champions League.

&nbsp;

<h2>- Stumbling Juventus -</h2>

Juventus have now drawn the last three Serie A games they have actually played, leaving aside the 3-0 win they were awarded when Napoli did not turn up for their recent match in Turin due to a coronavirus outbreak.

On Sunday Andrea Pirlo's team needed Dejan Kulusevski to come off the bench and salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Verona as the reigning champions again had to do without Cristiano Ronaldo following a positive Covid-19 test.

"We could have done better," admitted novice coach Pirlo, whose side may have their work cut out if they are to win a 10th straight Scudetto with a resurgent AC Milan joining the likes of Inter and Atalanta in hoping to knock the Old Lady off her perch.

Now Juve host Barcelona in the Champions League looking to build on the one victory they have enjoyed in recent weeks, away at Dynamo Kiev.

<h2>- Depay, Aouar star for Lyon -</h2>

They were supposed to leave Lyon before the transfer window closed but both saw moves away from the French club fall through.

Memphis Depay had hoped to join his former Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman at Barcelona while Houssem Aouar might have left his boyhood club for Arsenal, but instead they remain with last season's Champions League semi-finalists, who are not in Europe at all in this campaign.

It hs been a slow start for OL but on Sunday they trounced Monaco 4-1 to go sixth in Ligue 1, with Depay opening the scoring and Aouar netting a penalty. Karl Toko Ekambi got their other two goals.

Madrid's Clasico, Lewandowski, record-breaking Ajax: European football talking points

Mandeep Singh batted through the innings just two days after the death of his father to see Punjab Kings XI to a fifth straight Indian Premier League.

Singh hit 66 and Chris Gayle 51 as unfancied Punjab beat Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets and moved into the playoff places for the first time.

Punjab had lost five games before the current winning streak. They have beaten table toppers Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals to force their way into contention.

Shubman Gill hit 57 and captain Eoin Morgan 40, but Kolkata managed only 149-9 off their 20 overs.&nbsp;

Singh led the latest Punjab victorious onslaught as they reached 150-2 with seven balls to spare.

He put on 47 for the first wicket with captain KL Rahul and then 100 with Gayle, who smashed five sixes in his 51.&nbsp;

"This was very special. My father always used to tell me you should remain not out in the game. This one is for him," said Singh who pointed to the sky &nbsp;on reaching his 50, in tribute to his athletics coach father.

Singh said he had to convince Rahul to let him play a slower game while the captain and Gayle went for the runs.&nbsp;

"I told Rahul, 'if I play my natural game, I can see this through'. So he was okay with me taking my time and he went after the bowling."

Rahul and Gayle understood Singh's emotions.

"I am just so proud of him, he made everyone emotional," said Rahul.

"It was so good to see him look up to the sky. We knew it was a message to his dad," said Gayle.

The defeat was a double blow for Kolkata who lost fourth place on run rate to Punjab.&nbsp;

Both teams have 12 points from 12 games with two to go.

Cristiano Ronaldo remains uncertain to take on Lionel Messi's Barcelona on Wednesday as he recovers from coronavirus, Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo said on the eve of the match in Turin.

Ronaldo tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks ago while playing with Portugal, and has been in self-isolation since returning to Italy.

"Ronaldo had a test like everyone else, this evening (Tuesday) we will have the definitive result," Pirlo told a press conference in Turin before the Champions League Group G game.

"For now it's all on the high seas, when the final result comes everything will be clearer."

According to UEFA rules the 35-year-old Ronaldo will need to test negative late on Tuesday, 24 hours before being allowed to feature.

"Tomorrow (Wednesday) morning we will count the number of players available," continued Pirlo.&nbsp;

"For 15 years, Messi and Ronaldo have done great things," said former Italy and Juventus midfielder Pirlo.&nbsp;

"For the first time, I'll be taking on Messi as a coach, I'll treat him with the enormous respect that he deserves."

Pirlo has defensive worries with captain Giorgio Chiellini, and Matthijs De Ligt out but fellow centreback Leonardo Bonucci's thigh strain will be evaluated on Wednesday morning.

"These are the matches that everyone would like to play. We have this opportunity and we can't wait to test ourselves against Barcelona," said Pirlo.&nbsp;

"It's not a decisive game, but we still want to see what our value is."

Argentina forward Paulo Dybala remains "a bit tired" after playing for 90 minutes in his first match in over three months last Sunday against Verona.

"It's normal after the first game as a starter. He'll have time to recover and play tomorrow night."&nbsp;
