Critics have debated that the doll's appearance has been sexualised and it promotes a certain body type among young girls which is unrealistic. A typical Barbie doll has a narrow waist, a full chest, and long slender arms and legs. The doll is always perched on her toes- ready to slip into heels. When it was first introduced in 1959, it was typically blonde haired and adult bodied- inspired from a a German toy doll called Bild Lilli. Criticisms of Barbie are often centered around concerns that children consider Barbie a role model and will attempt to emulate her. One of the most common criticisms of Barbie is that she promotes an unrealistic idea of body image for a young woman, leading to a risk that girls who attempt to emulate her will become anorexic. With changing times, Mattel has consciously tried to change the image of Barbie dolls to make them more relatable for young girls. The mould of the doll too has undergone significant change to make Barbie look more realistic-thereby promoting a more positive body image. Over the years, Barbie has adopted various professions and ethnicity. We have a black Barbie, a doctor Barbie, and an Indian Barbie to name a few. While the Barbie doll has gone through changes, its male counterpart Ken has remained more or less the same. Greta Gerwig's land of Barbie The exact plot of the Barbie film is not known so far but the character posters seem to address a long-standing debate on how good an influence these dolls are on young girls. Gerwig seems to have used Barbie as a metaphor to represent the modern woman - who are known for more than their looks. Barbie has been considered an example of how women should be and so Gerwig's Barbies have various attributes and are not just sexual objects of desire for men. Notice how the men are depicted in the poster? They look brawny, and plastic and have no defined attributes. Women are typically known to juggle multiple roles in life. They have - for years- balanced both work and home beautifully while men are typically known to just achieve great heights professionally. Gerwig's sly dig on the societal imbalance did not go unnoticed on the internet. The social media trend The internet caught on to the Barbie trend almost instantly and made its own version of it- often equating real-life couples and on-screen popular couples to Barbie and Ken. Dhanush posted an audio clip on Instagram, in which he delivers a stern warning to Hollywood star Ryan Gosling's CIA mercenary Court Gentry, aka Sierra Six.</p>

<p>"Six, This is Lone Wolf. I hear we are both looking for the same man. I want to offer you some advice. Stop looking. You are wasting your time. And yet, it is an almost entirely disposable action-thriller, virtually indistinguishable from those genre movies that have cropped up in hordes on streaming services in the last five or so years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The story follows a rogue, off-the-book CIA agent Sierra Six (Ryan Gosling) who learns the agency is eliminating others who were hired in the programme he was hired in. He gets his hands on an encrypted USB drive, which supposedly contains information the CIA doesn’t want to let the world know. A heavy-handed higher-up Denny Carmichael (Regé-Jean Page) recruits a psychopathic mercenary Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) and his men to hunt him down. And there I have described the plot. If you are worried I spoiled anything, the story has nothing much to spoil. The entire movie moves along a straight path with no deviations, twists, and surprises. For those watching this for Dhanush, yes he is there. For a while. He does get an action scene, but did they just hire an actor of his calibre just to make life more difficult for your hero for a while?</p>

It has thrown millions of dollars to any writer/director with an idea that could be turned into a serviceable film or show. Or that is what it felt like to a neutral observer. The streamer’s inflated content budget meant it could spend more than even traditional studios like Disney and Warner Bros. This formula may have worked for years, but then the company received a huge wake-up call in April when it lost subscribers for the first time in a decade.</p>

<p>‘The Gray Man’ is why Netflix should think deeply about its strategy. It should be one of the cases in point when the execs tell the board of directors what they will not do in future. It is simply a bad film. Not even a cast like that can redeem it. It is not even that you could enjoy it like a mindless actioner.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I, for one, do not scoff in contempt when an action movie hero has a firefight with dozens of baddies with little cover and still come out unscathed — well, not unscathed always, maybe they have a few bullet holes in his body, but can still walk and even spit out one-liners. I know how this genre works. But even the action in ‘The Gray Man’, while sometimes impressive, is mostly distracting. The camerawork is strange, switching to drone perspective in a way that takes one out of what little immersion the film offers.</p>

I, for one, do not scoff in contempt when an action movie hero has a firefight with dozens of baddies with little cover and still come out unscathed — well, not unscathed always, maybe they have a few bullet holes in his body, but can still walk and even spit out one-liners. I know how this genre works. But even the action in ‘The Gray Man’, while sometimes impressive, is mostly distracting. The camerawork is strange, switching to drone perspective in a way that takes one out of what little immersion the film offers. I am never getting back those 2 hours.

<p>The first critical reactions to the upcoming Netflix film 'The Gray Man' have surfaced online. The action-thriller is directed by the directors of 'Avengers: Endgame', Joe and Anthony Russo, and stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Alfre Woodard, Billy Bob Thornton, and India's own Dhanush. Gosling plays the role of Sierra Six, CIA operative who learns about the dark secrets of the intelligence service &nbsp;and becomes the target of a former colleague Lloyd Hansen (Evans) as well as other international assassins on CIA pay. Dhanush's character Avik San is an Indian mercenary.</p>

The actor's candid response to the questions directed at him during the post-screening press conference left everyone in splits and giggles. Revealing that he had&nbsp;no clue how he ended up with the role in ‘The Gray Man’, Dhanush expressed his excitement and how thrilled he was to explore such a big opportunity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though Dhanush has a small screen length in the film, the character is significant for the story.&nbsp;He plays an assassin who hardly has any dialogue. When asked by the moderator how the project fell into his lap, in response, Dhanush answered, "I don't know how I ended up in this movie. The casting agency one day told me that there is a Hollywood project and I was like OK. And, they were like it's a big film. Ok, so which film, what film. No, it's a big film and first, we need your approval. Then I asked please tell me what film and then when they told me and I was like ahhhh(surprised) and I said ok."</p>
