Joining Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi over a video call to launch his upcoming memoir, ‘Stories I Must Tell’, Priyanka opened up about her struggle to find work in Hollywood and then took to social media to write about healthcare system of the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They started their interaction with how difficult it was to get work in Hollywood. Kabir Bedi said, "In those days Hollywood just wasn't writing roles for Indian, or Asians in general. So how do you get a role if it is not written for you? When they did have a role for an Asian, they had no hesitation in painting a white actor brown. The way I got the roles was telling my agent that forget the Indian bit. Cast me in anything that is foreign-looking to Hollywood.”</p>

<p>"In those days, a Ben Kingsley had to change his name from Krishna Bhanji to Ben Kingsley to be taken seriously and get roles. Today, Priyanka Chopra does not have to change her name for her success in America," he added.<br />

The Oscar-nominated director had racist comments come his way as he conducted a Zoom interview with director Ava DuVernay and other BAFTA and Academy members. One such comment had asking him to “go back to your own country”.&nbsp;</p>

We had worked late that day, so I had to do my Zoom interview with Ava on my phone while we were still in the street. During the interview, I noticed a car parked behind me. When the driver saw me and my colleague (who is South Asian) he said, ‘You all think you run the world. You all don’t run s—.’ His friend told him to calm down and leave it alone. As the driver pulled away, he shouted, ‘Go back to your own country!’ ”</p>

<p>The Iranian-American director opened up about the racist episode so as to make people aware of the racism that minorities face everyday in the US.&nbsp;</p>

My dad used to sing in a mosque, I was aware of Islam. I grew up in a Hindu family, I was aware of that. Spirituality is such a large part of India that you really cannot ignore it."</p>

<p>Priyanka added how her late father, Dr Ashok Chopra, always taught her that all religions are ways to the same God. "I am a Hindu. I pray, I have a temple at my home, I do it as often as I can. But truly to me, I am a believer that a higher power does exist and I like to have faith in that," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is Priyanka Chopra’s time to make headlines yet again as promo of her upcoming episode with Oprah Winfrey dropped earlier today.&nbsp;</p>

<p><a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/priyanka-chopra">Priyanka</a> sat down for an exclusive with popular chat show host Oprah Winfrey for an upcoming episode of ‘Super Soul’. The first long promo from the episode dropped today as the two look happy, enjoying some laughs. This interview comes right after Oprah Winfrey interviewed former Royals Meghan Markle and Prince Harry who opened up about everything that happened in their lives since they got married and why they ended up giving up the Royal way of life.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the promo, Oprah is seen asking Priyanka Chopra about her recently released memoir&nbsp;and why this was the right time to bring it out, Priyanka said, "I felt like I could leave behind the insecurities of my 20s and not worry about the things that used to scare me before. I have a little bit more confidence in myself and what I bring to the table, professionally, personally. I think that really helped me address my life.”</p>

<p>After a marathon awards season lengthened by two additional months because of the ongoing pandemic, the Oscar nominations will finally be announced on Monday at the crack of dawn in Los Angeles. It’s my job to tell you what to expect, but I think even voters aren’t sure what’s in store.</p>

<p>Without the usual circuit of parties, premieres, Q&amp;As, and glitzy award ceremonies, academy members have mostly been left to their own devices. (What good are all those for-your-consideration billboards when you barely leave your house?) Still, some educated guesses can be made about this year’s crop of nominees, which could set records and stoke controversy in equal measure.</p>

<p>Here are five pressing award-season questions that will soon be answered.</p>

<p><strong>What movies will be nominated for best picture?</strong></p>

<p>If recent Oscar history holds, we should expect eight or nine movies to earn enough votes for a best-picture nomination. (Next year, the academy has resolved to go back to an even 10 nominees. Good!) Five contenders appear all but locked, given how often they have been recognized this season by other awards bodies: “Nomadland,” “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” “Promising Young Woman,” “Minari” and “Mank.”</p>

And keep an eye on “Da 5 Bloods,” which has underperformed this season but still scored a notable best-cast nomination from the Screen Actors Guild.</p>

<p>"I think the key for me was trying to find a way to give this idea a persona, give it a name. So 'Spaceman' came into my mind because I was thinking, 'What's the one thing that all of us have felt during this time?' It's just completely disconnected from the world," he said.</p>

<p>Jonas continued, "We've gotten so accustomed to looking at a screen instead of human interaction, and I think the thing that keeps us all encouraged and hopeful is just the idea of knowing that there will be a tomorrow when this isn't our reality, and I think the body of work as a whole tracks that."</p>

<p>"But it felt like the right thing to start with 'Spaceman' because it is such a stark visual and creative idea to then start the conversation of songs like 'This Is Heaven,' which I'm really excited about," he added. "It touches on some of the things I did with 'Jealous' and tracks like that, but in a new way, and just trying to continue to get better and evolve every day, push myself."</p>

<p>Stuck in London for over a month now, Priyanka Chopra now has family to her relief as husband Nick Jonas flew in for her lady love. Nick was busy with a few projects in Los Angeles but he flew in to London as soon as he wrapped up work.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Priyanka Chopra has in the past spoken about facing racism while she studied in the US during her formative years. Over the years, the actress has not only become a super star in India, but has also found her footing in Hollywood in recent years. But Chopra has revealed that she has also received hate from the South Asian community in her career.&nbsp;</p>

Speaking with columnist and writer Shobhaa De, she said that she was now at a place where she had come together and in-charge of everything in her life. "That is a long way from a young high school girl who got into fashion and later the Indian film industry."<br />

Chopra, who was recently seen in the film `White Tiger`, which she also co-produced on a digital platform, feels that the coming of age of streaming platforms has been a major breakthrough. "It is no longer the same 10 people who are doing everything. We are witnessing newer talent every day. You would think that a giant movie would be 100% storyboarded, animatics, and we’d be checking off shots. I think she lived that before three times over, and I would suspect that she wants to do things her own way now.
