<p>Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja had recently shared his views on revamping the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by introducing an auction system like the Indian Premier League (IPL) to ensure it can be put in the same bracket as the Indian league.</p>

<p>Raja had also claimed that no player would prefer IPL over PSL once the&nbsp;auction-based model is adopted&nbsp;in Pakistan's domestic T20 tournament. The PCB chief had faced ire from Indian fans on social media after his&nbsp;&nbsp;"we'll see who goes to play the IPL over the PSL" comment.</p>

<p>IPL which got underway in 2008 is currently the best T20 league in the world in terms of both quality of cricket and the finances involved. The cash-rich league is into its 15th edition and has been witnessing immense growth with each passing season. Several former Pakistan cricketers have often tried to pit PSL up against IPL and made comparisons between the two tournaments.</p>

<p>In order to make PSL compete against IPL, PCB chief Raja plans to bring in changes in the rules of the competition. Speaking about the same in an interview last month, Raja had said - "This is a game of money. When the cricket economy grows in Pakistan, our respect will rise. The main driver of that financial economy is the PSL. If we take the PSL to auction model, increase the purse, then I’ll put it in the IPL bracket. And then we’ll see who goes to play the IPL over the PSL."</p>

<p>He has now clarified his remarks after facing backlash over the same and has said he is aware India's economy is in a far better position than Pakistan at present. In an interview with <em>Cricbuzz</em>, Raja said he has plans to improve PSL but was misquoted on the other part.</p>

<p>"I was misquoted. I know where economy of India is and where is Pakistan's. We have plans to improve the PSL. We will bring in the auction model but I was misquoted on the other part," said the PCB chief.</p>

<p>Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf lost his cool a bit and was spotted slapping his teammate&nbsp;Kamran Ghulam during his team Lahore Qalandars' clash against Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 on Monday (February 21). Emotions run high among players during matches and they often tend to lose their cool.</p>

<p>A similar episode was witnessed in the ongoing PSL 2022 on Tuesday. The incident took place during the second over of Peshawar Zalmi's innings when Rauf managed to dismiss opener Mohammad Haris on 6 off 5 balls. While celebrating with his teammates, Rauf was seen slapping Ghulam.</p>

<p>Rauf ended up slapping his teammate to remind him of the catch he had dropped earlier in the innings. Ghulam had dropped the catch of Zalmi opener &nbsp;Hazratullah Zazai. Rauf finally managed to get a wicket in the same over after Zazai's opening partner Haris was caught by Fawad Ahmed.</p>

<p>The footage of Rauf slapping Ghulam instantly went viral on social media and became the talking point on social media. However, despite being slapped by Rauf, Ghulam was seen in good spirits and continued to celebrate with the rest of his teammates after Haris' dismissal.</p>

'Want to see your century in Pakistan': Fan's message for Virat Kohli goes viral during PSL 2022

<p>Australian cricketer James Faulkner left the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 on Saturday (February 18) and returned home due to non-payment by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Faulkner took to Twitter to reveal PCB and his franchise Quetta Gladiators have been continuously lying to him and have not 'honoured' his contractual agreement and payments.</p>

<p>Faulkner termed PCB's treatment of him as a 'disgrace' as he apologised to Pakistani fans for leaving the tournament midway. Responding to his accusations, PCB has termed Faulkner's allegations as 'baseless' and have also banned the Australian from taking part in the PSL for life.</p>

<p>As PCB faces criticism from all corners after Faulkner's allegations against the cricket board, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has come out to defend the organisation. Afridi slammed Faulkner for levelling 'baseless' allegations against the board and claimed the payments of the players have never been delayed in the competition.</p>

<p>"Disappointed with @JamesFaulkner44 comments who reciprocated Pakistan's hospitality&amp;arrangements by levelling baseless allegations.We al have been treated with respect &amp;never ever our payments have been delayed. No one should be allowed to taint cricket &amp; the #HBLPSL brand," Afridi wrote in a tweet.</p>

<p>The Pakistan Cricket Board has also responded to the accusations made by Faulkner with a detailed statement. PCB said 70% of Faulkner's fee&nbsp;was deposited in his UK account in December last year. However, his agent later provided the board with revised banking details and requested the board to transfer the amount to his Australian bank account.</p>

<p>However, PCB stated that at the time of money transfer to his UK account, Faulkner had acknowledged the receipt of payment and that sending the amount again to his Australian account would have meant paying him twice. Thus, PCB refrained from making a second payment as requested by the Aussie cricketer.</p>
