On Sunday, keeping the interest alive, Musk posted on X, that the fight would be live-streamed on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. He also said that proceeds from the fight will go to charity for veterans.&nbsp;

To this, Zuckerberg aka Zuck responded, "Shouldn't we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?"

The two tech billionaires "agreed" to the in-person face-off in late June, reports news agency AP.&nbsp;

Back then, responding to a post about Meta launching Threads, a platform to rival X, Musk took the first jab and remarked, "I'm sure Earth can't wait to be exclusively under Zuck's thumb with no other options."

The comment which garnered thousands of likes, had one user jokingly warn Musk that Zuckerberg has jiu jitsu training. To this, the eccentric billionaire replied "I'm up for a cage match if he is lol."

Zuckerbeg too appeared to be up for the match, and finally Musk proposed the Vegas Octagon.

As per an Australian Broadcasting Corporation report, the Queensland Supreme Court ruled that "the ban is unconstitutional under the Racial Discrimination Act (RDA)."

"To say that both Sikhs and non-Sikhs cannot practise their religion while wearing a knife ignores the fact that carrying a knife is only a feature of the religious observance of Sikhs."

As per news agency PTI, Bill Potts, of Potts Lawyers Queensland, said that the original legislation meant Sikhs "were not able to go to school, not able to go to effectively carry out their religion".

A Kirpan is one of the five religious symbols that a practising Sikh is supposed to carry on their person at all times, as part of their faith. The other four religious symbols are Kes (hair), Karha (a steel wristband), Kangha (a wooden comb worn in a hair knot), Kaccherha (shorts or underwear).

Kirpan, the religious symbol which resembles a knife or a short sword, is part of the Sikh religious uniform and is prescribed by the religion's code of conduct. It is typically worn, sheathed and concealed beneath one's clothes.&nbsp;

Australia: Queensland Supreme Court overturns ban on carrying Sikh religious symbol 'Kirpan' in schools

The finance ministry on Tuesday said top 50 wilful defaulters including Gitanjali Gems Limited, Era Infra Engineering Limited, REI Agro Limited, and ABG Shipyard Limited owe $105,40 million or Rs 87,295 crore to banks and financial institutions.

Of this, top 10 wilful defaulters owe&nbsp;4,929 million (Rs 40,825) crore to schedule commercial banks (SCBs), Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.

SCBs have written off an aggregate amount of Rs 10,57,326 crore during the last five financial years (RBI provisional data for FY 2022-23), he said.

"The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has apprised that the amount owed by top 50 wilful defaulters in SCBs was Rs 87,295 crore as on March 31, 2023," he said.Fugitive Mehul Choksi's Gitanjali Gems is the biggest wilful defaulter owing Rs 8,738 crore to banks. It is followed by Era Infra Engineering Limited owing Rs 5,750 crore, REI Agro Limited Rs 5,148 crore, ABG Shipyard Limited Rs 4,774 crore, and Concast Steel and Power Limited Rs 3,911 crore.

Other wilful defaults are Rotomac Global Private Limited Rs 2,894 crore, Winsome Diamonds and Jewellery Limited Rs 2,846 crore, Frost International Limited Rs 2,518 crore, Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn Limited Rs 2,180 crore and Zoom Developers Private Limited Rs 2,066 crore.

Karad said the provision enabling banks to enter into compromise settlement in respect of borrowers categorised as fraud or wilful defaulter is not a new regulatory instruction and has been the settled regulatory stance for more than fifteen years.

"RBI had advised IBA, vide letter dated May 10, 2007, that, banks may enter into compromise settlement with wilful defaulters/ fraudulent borrowers without prejudice to the criminal proceeding underway against such borrowers and all such cases of compromise settlements should be vetted by Management Committee/Board of banks," he said.

Further, he said, compromise settlement with borrowers classified as wilful defaulters or fraud is also covered in RBI's Master Circular on Wilful Defaulters dated July 1, 2015 and Master Directions on Frauds dated July 1, 2016.

The compromise settlement, however, is not a matter of right for borrower but is a discretion to be exercised by lenders based on their commercial judgements, he said.

As per RBI's circular dated June 8, 2023, he said, regulated entities may undertake compromise settlements or technical write-offs in respect of accounts classified as fraud or wilful defaulter without prejudice to the criminal proceeding underway against such borrowers, and all such proposals need to be approved by the board.

As per inputs received from RBI, he said, the framework prescribes minimum cooling-off period of 12 months as a general prescription for normal cases of compromise settlements, without prejudice to the penal measures applicable in respect of borrowers classified as a wilful defaulter.

"Such penal measures, as per the RBI's Master Circular on Wilful Defaulters dated July 1, 2015, entail, inter alia, that no additional facilities should be granted by any bank/financial institutions to borrowers listed as wilful defaulters, and that such companies (including their entrepreneurs/promoters) get debarred from institutional finance for floating new ventures for a period of five years from the date of removal of their name from the list of wilful defaulters," he said.

Replying to another question, Karad said public at large have benefited from the amalgamation as the amalgamated bank is offering enhanced access to banking services through a stronger and larger network, greater financial inclusion of the underprivileged, wider and customised array of banking and other financial products and services, and improved digital experience through investments in technology.

Employees have benefited through opening up of wider career and geographical opportunities, enhanced depth and breadth of employees' exposure and improved perquisites through harmonisation of benefits on best-across-banks basis, while ensuring that no employee has lost his or her job as a result of the amalgamation, he said.

In a separate reply, Karad said 66,069 frauds were reported in 2022-23 causing a loss of Rs 85.25 crore. In the previous year, 65,893 frauds were reported with financial implication of Rs 115.36 crore.

In order to prevent fraudulent online transactions, he said, RBI has been issuing various instructions to the regulated entities from time to time.

"RBI had issued a comprehensive circular on Cyber Security Framework for Banks in June, 2016 and for Urban Cooperative Banks in October, 2018 respectively. As per these circulars, banks were advised to put in place a board-approved cyber security policy elucidating the strategy containing an appropriate approach to combat cyber threats given the level of complexity of business and acceptable levels of risk," he said.

Further, he said, to enhance the cyber security posture of online transaction and prevent cyber frauds, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) issues alerts and advisories regarding latest cyber threats/vulnerabilities and countermeasures to protect computers and networks on an ongoing basis, tracking and disabling phishing websites and facilitating the investigation of fraudulent activities in coordination with service providers, regulators, and law enforcement agencies.

With regard to complaints received by the JanSamarth Portal, he said, total 23,276 grievances have been received since its launch, out of which 21,250 complaints have been closed in a time-bound manner.

JanSamarth Portal was launched to provide a common platform for availing loan under few credit-linked government schemes to start with.

Further, he said, to enhance the cyber security posture of online transaction and prevent cyber frauds, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) issues alerts and advisories regarding latest cyber threats/vulnerabilities and countermeasures to protect computers and networks on an ongoing basis, tracking and disabling phishing websites and facilitating the investigation of fraudulent activities in coordination with service providers, regulators, and law enforcement agencies. With regard to complaints received by the JanSamarth Portal, he said, total 23,276 grievances have been received since its launch, out of which 21,250 complaints have been closed in a time-bound manner. This is what happened with Ashely Summer, 35, an Indiana woman who died due to drinking too much water also known as water toxicity.&nbsp;

The incident occurred back in July during the weekend of the Fourth of July when her family was out at Lake Freeman near Monticello. Summer's family said that she was feeling dehydrated and couldn't drink much water. She was lightheaded and had a headache.&nbsp;

Ashley's brother said that he recieved a call from his sister and said that she was a wreck and was not feeling well. He said, "Someone said she drank four bottles of water in 20 minutes. I mean, an average water bottle is like 16 ounces, so that was 64 ounces that she drank in a span of 20 minutes. That’s half a gallon. That’s what you’re supposed to drink in a whole day."

After making it home, Ashley passed out in her garage and was taken to hospital and never regained consciousness. Doctors informed her family that she died from water toxicity. Her family informed that Ashley was able to diagnose her heart, liver, lungs, kidneys, and some of her long bone tissues.

Some of the symptoms of water toxicity are feeling unwell, muscle cramps, soreness, nausea and headaches.&nbsp;

"Making sure that you’re drinking things that have electrolytes and sodium and some potassium."

Before, Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi, the last leader Abu Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qurashi as per the group's announcement, died in November of 2022. His predecessor, Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi was killed in February of the same year, during a US raid in Idlib province. The Islamic State group's first-ever "caliph", Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was also killed in Idlib. He died in October 2019.

Islamic State announces death of its leader 'after direct clashes' in Syria's Idlib, names successor

Shohini Sinha, an Indian-American woman, has recently been appointed as a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and will be in charge of&nbsp;the Salt Lake City Field Office. FBI Director Christopher Wray appointed her to this role.

Furthermore, she warned about the effects of heat at the poles.&nbsp;"The ice around the polar areas is at minimum levels. Especially around Antarctica, where at this time of year sea ice grows to reach a maximum in September, it is at a historic minimum," Raul added.&nbsp;

Climate change: Chile, Argentina face scorching heatwave in middle of winter

Voyager Space, a US space venture company, and Airbus, a renowned aerospace firm, on Wednesday announced that they will be collaborating in the pursuit of constructing a private version of the International Space Station (ISS).&nbsp;

In&nbsp;their recent announcement, they said Airbus would be the&nbsp;core partner in a newly planned venture responsible for the development, construction, and operation of the orbital research post.&nbsp;

<h2>Europe and space project</h2>

The reason behind this strategic move is to expand Europe's involvement in the ambitious space project.&nbsp;However, Reuters reports that specific details regarding shareholdings and financial arrangements are yet to be disclosed.

Starlab is among the three private concepts designed to replace the ISS, which has served as an orbital laboratory that has housed crews for over two decades.&nbsp;

The original blueprint for Starlab featured an inflatable habitat designed by Lockheed Martin. However, as per Reuters, a subsequent decision to adopt a metallic structure resulted in Airbus superseding Lockheed Martin's role.

Dylan Taylor, the CEO of Voyager Space, clarified that "Lockheed will likely still have a role to play somewhere within the supply chain."

He also said that Starlab will remain a US-led initiative, and that, "There will be contributions coming from Europe, but there will definitely be an assembly and large contributions coming from the US".&nbsp;

<h2>The International Space Station</h2>

NASA, as per Reuters, has planned to retire the ISS in 2030 and intends to rely on private companies to host scientific research in low-Earth orbit. However, the NASA officials have acknowledged that the ISS's lifespan might need to be extended as a private replacements moves forward.

Voyager Space and Airbus have reportedly stated that Starlab is expected to deploy around 2028.

"It will occur before the ISS decommissioning; we're highly confident of that. Whether it's going to be late 2027, early 2028, or late 2028 we're still working out those details," said Taylor.

Starlab is among the three private concepts designed to replace the ISS, which has served as an orbital laboratory that has housed crews for over two decades. The original blueprint for Starlab featured an inflatable habitat designed by Lockheed Martin. However, as per Reuters, a subsequent decision to adopt a metallic structure resulted in Airbus superseding Lockheed Martin's role. Dylan Taylor, the CEO of Voyager Space, clarified that "Lockheed will likely still have a role to play somewhere within the supply chain." He also said that Starlab will remain a US-led initiative, and that, "There will be contributions coming from Europe, but there will definitely be an assembly and large contributions coming from the US". The International Space Station NASA, as per Reuters, has planned to retire the ISS in 2030 and intends to rely on private companies to host scientific research in low-Earth orbit. However, the NASA officials have acknowledged that the ISS's lifespan might need to be extended as a private replacements moves forward. Voyager Space and Airbus have reportedly stated that Starlab is expected to deploy around 2028. "It will occur before the ISS decommissioning; we're highly confident of that. Whether it's going to be late 2027, early 2028, or late 2028 we're still working out those details," said Taylor. The Puerto Rican reggaeton star Bad Bunny, who last year sold out a concert in Mexico and Peso Pluma, a "narco ballad" genre leader, are notorious for their misogynistic, bragging lyrics.&nbsp;

Mexican city Chihuahua bans misogynistic lyrics that 'promote violence against women'

A father died and his daughter was severely&nbsp;injured in France on Sunday (July 30) after a bouncy castle in which they were playing at a water park was blown skyward by high winds. The incident occurred at the water park in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume in southern Var region, a popular tourist place.

The 35-year-old parent died in the hospital while his four-year-old kid remains critical, prosecutors told AFP news agency.

Officials said the incident occurred due to&nbsp;"strong gusts of wind."

They added that an investigation has been launched into the matter.

Guy Bouchet, a prosecutor, told AFP that the management of the park has suspended&nbsp;the bouncy castle activity due to bad weather at the very moment&nbsp; the horrifying accident occurred.

The prosecutor, in a statement, said that the structure was about 20 metres (65 feet) long and lifted around 50 metres off the ground at the Wonderland Waterpark, with both victims trapped inside.

According to reports, the structure landed about 150 feet away, and both victims suffered cardiac arrest.

Town mayor questions waterpark over 'safety'

In the aftermath of the incident, town mayor Alain Decanis posted a statement on Facebook condemning the waterpark's lack of safety.

"How can a water park that had been accepted on the municipal territory to bring joy and happiness to children be transformed into a machine of death that strikes down an entire family?"

"Tonight I want to offer my most sincere condolences to the mother who was present at the scene, who showed remarkable courage, and to all members of the family."

Decanis later vowed that the investigation would provide the answers.

In June this year,&nbsp;a rollercoaster accident in an amusement park in Sweden killed one and injured at least nine people. This happened in Stockholm's Grona Lund Park, where the Jetline rollercoaster reaches a height of 30 meters (90 feet) and a speed of 90 km/hr.

The accident occurred when 14 people were on the ride, and the front part of the rollercoaster separated from the vehicle stopped in the middle of the track and sent people crashing to the ground.

A new study has revealed that just 4-5 minutes of vigorous exercise that makes people huff and puff daily can reduce the risks of cancers by up&nbsp;to 32 per cent.&nbsp;

The study published in the journal JAMA Oncology derived the conclusion on the basis of data from wearable devices to track the activity of more than 22,000 "non-exercisers," PTI news agency reported.

Researchers at Australia's Univesity of Sydney&nbsp;followed the group's critical health records for close to several years to monitor cancer risks. They found that up to 4-5 minutes of vigorous intermittent lifestyle physical activity or VIPLA daily was linked with a substantially lower risk of cancer as compared to those who don't follow VIPLA.

These exercises include vigorous housework like carrying heavy objects or playing.

In the sample of&nbsp;22,398 people&nbsp;with an average age of 62 who did not exercise in their leisure time, the researchers found 2,356 new cancer events.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), physical activity can reduce the risks of 13 cancer types. The organisation recommends at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity activity or at least 75 minutes per week of vigorous-intensity activity.&nbsp;

"We know the majority of middle-aged people don't regularly exercise which puts them at increased cancer risk but it is only through the advent of wearable technology like activity trackers that we are able to look at the impact of short bursts of incidental physical activity done as part of daily living."

The researchers added that the study is observational, meaning it is not designed to directly explore cause and effect. Nevertheless, they saw a strong link and refer to previous early-stage trials showing that vigorous activity leads to rapid improvement in health and cardio-respiratory fitness.&nbsp;

Stamatakis added, "We need to further investigate this link through robust trials, but it appears that VILPA may be a promising cost-free recommendation for lowering cancer risk in people who find structured exercise difficult or unappealing."

In Georgia, United States, a man who was likely infected by a brain-eating amoeba has died after potentially catching the rare infection while swimming in a freshwater lake or pond.

As per an NBC News report, the Georgia resident is yet to be identified.&nbsp;

The Georgia Department of Public Health, in a statement, said that "a Georgia resident has died from Naegleria fowleri, a rare infection which destroys brain tissue, causing brain swelling and usually death."

"The individual was likely infected while swimming in a freshwater lake or pond in Georgia."

"Though the risk of infection is low, recreational water users should always assume there is a risk when they enter warm freshwater," said the Georgia Department of Public Health.

"If you choose to swim, you can reduce your risk of infection by limiting the amount of water that goes up the nose."

In July, a two-year-old boy from Nevada died from the infection. As per the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioural Health, the little boy likely contracted the infection at a natural hot spring.

Former beauty pageant queen Lindsay Shiver was arrested in the Bahamas with two other men for plotting to kill her husband Robert Shiver, a former Auburn Tiger football player. As per the Bahamas Court News, 36-year-old Lindsay allegedly conspired with her alleged lover Terrance Bethel, 28 and Faron Newbold, 29, to kill her spouse.

Lindsay has&nbsp;an active social life, posts several pictures of her family, is on soccer mom duty and plays tennis. The murder scandal began when Robert discovered Lindsay's extramarital affair with Bethel at their house in the Bahamas. He then proceeded with divorce and the couple was estranged at the time the incident was uncovered.&nbsp;

<h3>Police found about murder scandal by chance</h3>

Apparently, Lindsay's conspiracy to kill her husband was uncovered by chance. The police officials found out about the murder plot while they were investigating a break-in at Grabber's Bar and Grill in Guana. The officers claimed they came across messages on WhatsApp regarding the plan to kill Robert while searching for the phone of one of the suspects of the break-in.

However, a third suspect was found when it was reported that Lindsay hired a professional hitman to kill her husband.&nbsp;

The three suspects were arrested in Abaco and were later flown to Nassau to appear before the judge. The suspects are not required to enter a plea during a court appearance on Friday and are due on October 5.

The schedule of the TEDxGuangzhou 2023 conference, as per the South China Morning Post (SCMP), included a dozen talks by artists, researchers, campus anti-bullying advocates and entrepreneurs.&nbsp;

As per the report, the event brochure also advertised small-scale discussions and workshops.

On Monday, in a post on WeChat — China's alternative to WhatsApp — the organisers said that the Guangzhou police's office for the management of foreign non-governmental organisations has told them to "establish a domestic representative office" or apply for a temporary permit to comply with the law. &nbsp;

However, the local police are yet to issue a statement.

<h2>What the organisation said</h2>

TEDxGuangzhou has reportedly rejected the police's characterisation of associations with a foreign non-governmental organisation and said that they "are a group of local volunteers who occasionally come together to plan some activities."

"We are not an 'organisation', and there is no employment or remuneration relationship between us or with TED. Therefore, we do not fall under the jurisdiction of this law, which pertains to foreign NGOs registered overseas that wish to conduct business in China."

However, they warned that it was difficult to obtain the permit at such short notice because it requires a written agreement between TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) a North American non-profit media organisation, and its Chinese partners.

<h2>China worries about "foreign influence"</h2>

SCMP reports that the intervention comes as China sharpens its legal tools to fight "foreign infiltration."

In April 2021, China adopted an anti-espionage regulation that seeks to prevent "foreign infiltration" in key fields and, as per a PTI report, under it, the country's national security authority was to draw up lists of companies and organisations that it deemed susceptible to infiltration.

Despite a record-breaking number of ITR filings, a survey found that at least 14 per cent of the citizens won't be able to file taxes due to heavy rainfall, Mint reported.&nbsp;

After this choose the Income Tax Return (ITR) form. As you are a salaried taxpayer having Form-16, you can choose either ITR-1 or ITR-2.

Then select the assessment year (AY) for which you want to file your taxes, i.e. 2023-2024.

After doing so, check all your details thoroughly and proceed further in the form by clicking on 'submit.'

When&nbsp;done with submitting your return, e-verify it by using other options such as Aadhaar OTP etc.&nbsp;

Upload the e-verified return.

Though one shouldn't miss the ITR deadline by being a responsible citizen by paying taxes on time, some do fail to do so.

In such case, a maximum penalty of Rs 5,000 ($60) will be levied if the taxpayer file ITR after the deadline (July 31). However, for those whose total income does not exceed Rs 500,000 ($6,081) in a fiscal year are to pay Rs 1,000 ($12.16) in case of filing taxes after the deadline.

A joint collaboration between the Texas-based construction firm ICON, homebuilding company Lennar, and Danish architecture practice Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), it is situated in Georgetown, Texas, approximately 30 miles north of the state capital, Austin.&nbsp;

The recently revealed model home boasts bright interiors and curved gray walls, made from a concrete-based material called Lavacrete. The walls are created using 46-foot-wide robotic printers, and once those are complete, the doors, windows, and roofs — all equipped with solar panels — are installed.

As&nbsp;per ICON, over a third of the homes' walls have been printed. The 3D-printed homes range in size from 1,500 to 2,100 square feet and consist of three to four bedrooms and are priced between $475,000 and $599,000.

<h2>A watershed moment</h2>

The project was introduced in 2021. Back then, Jason Ballard, co-founder, and CEO of ICON, described the project as a "watershed moment in the history of community-scale development."&nbsp;

3D-printing, he asserted, enables the construction of high-quality homes at a faster and more affordable pace compared to conventional building methods.

The innovative use of 3D printing in housing has the potential to address pressing environmental concerns and also the deficit the United States faces in terms&nbsp;of housing.&nbsp;

Cement accounts for around 8 per cent of annual global CO2 emissions. 3D printed homes, as per a 2020 study, are also significantly cheaper.

<h2>What the critics say</h2>

While the project is a step forward in affordable housing and environmental impact, critics point out that 3D-printed homes still rely on carbon-intensive concrete. They also say that building codes addressing the safety and stability of these structures have not yet been widely adopted.

"At the reception desk, you had to say a password: 'women's sports'," Masha told the publication. This password was reportedly a code that indicated that the girl was there to have her hymen inspected for Prigozhin.

Once that was confirmed, she was sent to the Solo Sokos Hotel on Vasilyevsky Island on the western side of St. Petersburg.&nbsp;

She said it seemed "like there were always rooms reserved for him and the girls, and there were always people who supervised them."&nbsp;

"There were girls, not virgins, whom he paid 5,000 roubles ($78) for sex. They were the ones who told me that it was Prigozhin. They hadn't seen him for several days."

The student of Information Science, who back then was 37-year-old and was temporarily working as a security guard, faced a legal battle where everything seemed to conspire against him.

He faced witnesses with criminal records whose credibility was never properly scrutinised. Even when Malkinson cooperated with the police, they remained dismissive of his innocence. His refusal to falsely confess to a crime he didn't commit meant he had to endure the unimaginable pain of 17 years behind bars.

<h2>Faith eroded</h2>

While incarcerated, Malkinson's faith in justice eroded as he encountered bureaucratic indifference.&nbsp;

Malkinson claims that attempts to present his case were met with "indifference,"&nbsp;and the possibility of rehabilitation was denied since he maintained his innocence.

He was finally released in December 2020 on a strict life licence. The charity 'Appeal' has been a champion of his innocence,&nbsp;exposing a series of missed opportunities in the investigation.

Yet, the process remains slow, and Malkinson seeks a full investigation into the failings of the Greater Manchester Police and an independent review by the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

"I want the CCRC Chair Helen Pitcher to apologise for failings and commission an external, independent review aimed at learning lessons from what went wrong in their handling of my case," said Malkinson.

"I am unspeakably angry with Greater Manchester Police. I want those who have done wrong to be brought to account," he added.

Speaking to the press outside the court after Wednesday's (July 26th) ruling, the wrongly incarnated man said that the conviction left "a gaping black hole in my life".&nbsp;
