<p>Gambhir's mention of 'one individual' alludes to MS Dhoni who has been widely credited with the victory of India's two ICC silverware. Notably, it was Gambhir himself who was the highest individual scorer for India in the final of both World Cups. He scored 75 in the 2007 T20 WC against Pakistan and 97 in the 2011 ODI WC against Sri Lanka.</p>

<p>As for Yuvraj Singh, the southpaw had etched his name in history after hitting England's Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over in the 2007 WC. He had also scored a crucial 70 off just 30 balls in the semi-final against Australia. In the 2011 ODI World Cup, Singh won the Man of the Tournament award for his 362 runs and 15 wickets in the tournament.</p>

<h2><strong>Successful surgery in Mumbai on Dhoni</strong></h2>

<p>"Yes, Dhoni has had a successful knee surgery at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday," a CSK source was quoted as saying by PTI.</p>

<p>"He is doing fine and will be released in a day or two. He would be resting for a few days before his extensive rehabilitation starts. It is now expected that he would have enough time to get fit to play in the next IPL."</p>

<p>The former India captain was far from his best in the entire season and played at No.8 to avoid longer runs in the batting unit. Now 41, Dhoni needed heavy strapping on his left knee to avoid any serious damage and miss a chunk of the tournament. He played in all 16 matches for the franchise while scoring only 104 runs.</p>

<p>Earlier on Wednesday it was quoted Dhoni will take medical advice before he decides to have surgery. The CSK skipper is still optimistic to play in the 2024 season of the IPL and hasn’t ruled out the possibility to feature again in the famous yellow jersey.</p>

<p>"Yes, it is true that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide," Chennai Super Kings' CEO Kasi Viswanathan said on Wednesday to PTI.</p>

<p>"If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out; it will be completely his call."</p>

<p>Viswanathan was also questioned about Dhoni’s availability&nbsp;next season despite him claiming&nbsp;he would return for "at least" one more season for the fans. If Dhoni does decide to retire from IPL, it will free a purse of INR 15 crore for CSK to spend in the mini-auction for the next&nbsp;season.</p>

I just walked out and the full house was chanting my name. <p>After three days of unbelievable drama, Chennai Super Kings emerged on the top as they beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets to lift their fifth IPL title – joint-most with Mumbai Indians. <p>Alongside Saha, who became the oldest player to score a fifty in an IPL final, Sai slammed every CSK bowler to all parts of the ground, and courtesy of his record-breaking 96 off 47 balls, which included eight fours and six sixes, Gujarat put up a mammoth 214 for four in 20 overs.</p>

<p>CSK’s innings began with a four before rain halted the play for nearly three hours. After several rain interruptions and inspections that followed, play resumed past mid night, with CSK needing 171 to win from 15 overs.</p>

<p>Following a brilliant start, CSK's both openers got out to Noor Ahmad, after which Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu – the man who was playing his last IPL game, brought Chennai closer to the chase with quickfire cameos. Shivam Dube also contributed with handy sixes, but what was disappointing was MS Dhoni getting out on a first-ball duck off Mohit Sharma.</p>

<p>Ravindra Jadeja then kept his cool and scored ten off last two balls to help CSK beat GT by five wickets and lift the IPL 2023 trophy.</p>

<p>Former India player Virender Sehwag thinks that Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not play as Impact Player in IPL and would rather be with the CSK in the capacity of mentor or coach.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sehwag's comments come on the back of wide speculation around Dhoni's IPL future after the 2023 season final where CSK will seek their fifth title against the defending champions Gujarat Titans.</p>

<p>Speaking to cricket website Cricbuzz, Sehwag remarked, "Impact Player rule doesn't apply on MS Dhoni. Because he's playing only for captaincy. He has to stay in the ground for captaincy. Impact Player rule is for someone who doesn't field but bats, or a bowler who doesn't need to bat. Dhoni has to field 20 overs; if he's not the captain, he won't even play as Impact Player. Then, you will see him as mentor or coach or Director of Cricket."</p>

<p>The former India opener explained the reasoning behind his opinion of Dhoni never playing as an Impact Player as he hasn't batted too much this year.</p>

<p>"It's not difficult (to play cricket in 40s), if you're fit. MS Dhoni hasn't batted too much this year. He's not aggravating his knee injury. Often, he would come in the last two overs. If I count the total balls he faced, I think he would've faced 40-50 deliveries this season.</p>

<p>CSK's bowling coach Dwayne Bravo, however, had said after CSK entered their 10th final that Dhoni can surely prolong his career with the Impact Player rule.</p>

<p>"100 per cent. Especially, with the Impact Player rule. It will keep prolonging his career," Bravo had told Star Sports.</p>

<p>MS Dhoni although has made it clear that he won't be taking a decision on his IPL future anytime soon. "I don't know, I have eight to nine months to decide, the small auction may be around December, so why take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide," said Dhoni after CSK beat GT in the first qualifier.</p>
