As for the documentary, Thomas Markle, who is a retired Hollywood lighting director told The Sun: “It begins with my life, my family, my love of theatre and television and how I got there. Then my life with Meghan, growing up, her school days until she went off to college, and when her career began. We had a good life together, up through her first marriage and her move to Canada. Then a new story begins. It’s kind of like “What happened to my baby girl?”.”

Thomas Markle lives in Mexico and&nbsp;he said he hoped the film could be ready by the end of the year.&nbsp;

The card, which reads "Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year", was shared by the London-based The Mayhew Animal Home, of which the Duchess of Sussex is a Royal Patron. The card was shared on the charity's Instagram account on Thursday.

It features a photo of the Sussexes with Archie outside a miniature house and surrounded by their two dogs. There is also a small Christmas tree with a red bow.

"This year we, as a family, have made donations to several charities with you in mind," the Duchess is quoted as saying in the card.

"From a local California organisation that helps families transition out of homelessness, to two of our UK patronages: one that supports animal and community welfare, and the other, a memorial fund for a cherished friend that helps to educate children and fight poverty in Uganda, we have honoured their work on behalf of all of us," she added.

This is the first time that Archie featured in the family's official Christmas card since his first birthday in May last year.&nbsp;

"The original photo of the family was taken at their home earlier this month by The Duchess`s mother," CNN quoted a family spokesperson as saying.

"The small Christmas tree, including the homemade ornaments and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays," the spokesperson added.

The Sussexes are presently based in Los Angeles after having stepped back as senior royals in March.

For their last public appearance as working members of the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan joined the Queen and other senior royals at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on March 9 earlier this year.&nbsp;

They have since begun their new life of personal independence in the US, pursuing charity projects.

Despite the raging Covid-19 pandemic, the Sussexes delivered meals to residents of Los Angeles through Project Angel Food, which helps feed the chronically ill.

Britain`s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have called for an end to "structural racism", saying it holds back young people of colour, in their latest foray into politically sensitive issues usually avoided by the British royal family. 
 
In an interview for The Evening Standard newspaper, Harry said Britain could be a better place if white people understood more about those "of a different coloured skin". 
 
"For as long as structural racism exists, there will be generations of young people of colour who do not start their lives with the same equality of opportunity as their white peers," the couple wrote in an article for the paper. 
 
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made several comments on race issues since stepping down from their roles as working members of the royal family at the end of March and moving to California. 
 
Harry, 36, told the Standard he had been awakened to the issues facing Black and other ethnic minorities since meeting Meghan, whose father is white and mother is African American. 
 
"I wasn’t aware of so many of the issues and so many of the problems within the UK and also globally as well. I thought I did but I didn’t," he said. 
 
"It is not about pointing the finger, it is not about blame. I will be the first person to say, again, this is about learning," Harry told the paper. 
 
"And about how we can make it better. I think it is a really exciting time in British culture and British history, and in world culture," added Harry, who is Queen Elizabeth`s grandson and sixth-in-line to the throne. 
 
"A BEAUTIFUL THING" 
 
The interview, carried out by video from their new home, coincides with the start of Black History Month in Britain which celebrates the contribution of Black people to the nation. 
 
However, the Sussexes have faced accusations in the British media that they are not respecting the tradition that the royal family does not comment on political matters. 
 
Last week, they encouraged Americans to vote in the November presidential election, with Harry saying it was "vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity". 
 
Critics said his comments could be understood as a call to vote against U.S. President Donald Trump. Buckingham Palace said the remarks represented Harry`s personal views. 
 
The paper said Harry had accepted in the interview that their views "may seem controversial".

In June, Meghan, 39, said she was sorry that children had to grow up in a world where racism still existed and that events in the United States after the death of George Floyd were "devastating".

Lawyers for Meghan, the wife of Britain’s Prince Harry, said on Monday a claim by a tabloid paper she is suing for invasion of privacy that the royal couple cooperated with a recent book about them was “manifestly false”.

Meghan, officially titled the Duchess of Sussex, is suing publisher Associated Newspapers over articles the Mail on Sunday printed last year that included parts of a handwritten letter she sent to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, in August 2018.

At a hearing at London’s High Court on Monday, lawyers for the Mail said “Finding Freedom”, a biography of Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, published in August, appeared to have been written with the extensive cooperation of the duchess.

They were seeking to amend their case ahead of a trial due to start in January, arguing that Meghan’s alleged cooperation with the book’s authors showed she intended some private details to be made public, including the contents of the letter.

Antony White, the paper’s lawyer, told the court some personal information could only have come from the couple themselves or close friends authorised to disclose it.

The book “gives every appearance of having been written with their extensive cooperation”, he said in a written submission.

Meghan’s lawyer Justin Rushbrooke said there was no evidence for the Mail’s argument which he said was based on assertions which were “manifestly false”.

“What the defendant is saying is we don’t have any evidence for this case ... we are relying on inference. Inference is not evidence,” he said.

One of the book’s authors, Omid Scobie, also gave a witness statement in support of Meghan in which he describes the book as “an independent and unauthorised project”.

“Any suggestion that the Duke and Duchess collaborated on the book is false,” Scobie said. “They did not authorise the book and have never been interviewed for it.”

White said Scobie’s evidence “cries out for rigorous testing under cross-examination”.

The paper argues that its publication of her letter to her father in Feb. 2019 was justified by Meghan’s own “media fightback”, which consisted of anonymous interviews given on her behalf by five of her friends to the U.S. magazine People.

The court was told the Mail’s case was that Meghan had used her friends to influence the media and encouraged them to act as her PR agents.

Meghan denies that her friends were acting on her behalf.

White argued that if she had not cooperated with the book or allowed her friends to speak to its authors, it was “inevitable” that Meghan would have sued, which she was not doing, or stated that the contents were invented.

Rushbrooke dismissed this as a “flimsy leap”.

The trial is scheduled to start on Jan. 11 and to last between seven and 10 days. At a hearing on Monday, the court was told there would be seven witnesses, of whom four will appear on behalf of Meghan.

Meghan’s legal team has budgeted just under 1.8 million pounds ($2.3 million) for the case, while the Mail’s costs are estimated at more than 1.2 million pounds. The judge, Francesca Kaye, said both amounts seemed “dispropionate” as it was not a “high value” claim or complex case, and was essentially a personal dispute.

She will give her ruling on whether the Mail can amend its case at a later date.

Under the deal, whose value was not disclosed, the couple will produce films and series ranging from children`s shows to scripted content, the streaming platform said on Wednesday. The couple moved to Southern California with their infant son Archie this year after stepping back from royal duties in January and announcing plans to be more financially independent. They said they will produce content on issues that resonate with them and that their nonprofit orgnisation Archewell is focused on. "Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple said in a statement on Wednesday. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.” Meghan, a former star of the USA Network television show 'Suits,' has no plans to return to acting under the deal. The couple have no previous experience as producers, but Netflix said they already have several projects in development, including a nature documentary series and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women. They said they plan to highlight diversity in front of and behind the camera. "We`re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home," Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. The Netflix deal follows a similar pact in 2018 with former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. The New York Times said Harry and Meghan had been speaking with other Hollywood companies, including Walt Disney Co and Apple Inc. Variety reported earlier this month that they had met with Comcast Corp`s NBCUniversal. Netflix last month released 'Rising Phoenix,' a documentary about the Paralympic Games, in which Harry, who founded the Invictus Games for wounded veterans, makes a brief appearance. Harry, a grandson of Queen Elizabeth, had previously teamed up with the Apple TV+ streaming service to make a documentary with Oprah Winfrey about mental health. The documentary, which was in the works before the couple stepped back from their royal duties, has yet to be aired. In June, the couple signed with the Harry Walker Agency in New York, which serves as an agent for lectures by clients such as former U.S. Presidents Obama and Bill Clinton, as well as Oprah Winfrey. Harry and Meghan are expected to speak together and individually on issues such as racial justice, gender equity, the environment, and mental health. The couple recently bought a mansion in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, north of Los Angeles, that is more sheltered from media attention. Since arriving in California in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, they have undertaken some low-profile charity work, handing out supplies to families in need.
