<p>Co-produced by Ekta Kapoor via Balaji Motion Pictures, the film is one of the most talked-about films for next year as people are excited to see a collaboration between the accomplished actress and the renowned director.</p>

<p>The 42-year-old took to her Instagram Stories and shared a still from the sets. You can see a clapperboard on Kareena's lap that says "Shot No. 9 and Take No. 3". For the caption, she wrote, "Feeling so excited to see my name on the clap... yayyyyy. (sic)"</p>

Based on Robert Zemeckis’ 1994 Oscar-winning film ‘Forrest Gump’, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' should have ideally been adapted for the Indian audience at least a decade or two back. Tom Hanks was in his 30s and had undergone drastic weight loss to play the part which highlighted a journey of a boy to a man. Khan, on the other hand, is now in his&nbsp;50s and so the challenges were manifold. Does it translate well on screen? Only in parts.<br />

Adapted to the screen by writer-actor Atul Kulkarni, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' keeps the template of the original same but Indianises it majorly to suit the audience here. As a result the film is able to create its own identity, despite being a remake.&nbsp;<br />

The film begins on a train journey from Pathankot to Chandigarh where Laal narrates his extraordinary life to fellow passengers. He is seen carrying a red sweet box,&nbsp;which most assume contains sweets&nbsp;but turns out to be <em>gol gappas</em>. Through his life story, the viewers are taken back in time where Kulkarni and Chandan narrate some of the most important chapters of Indian history from the late 1970s to 2018. From the Emergency era to Operation Blue Star, India Gandhi's assassination, Babri Masjid Demolition, Advani's Rath Yatra, India winning the 1983 Cricket World Cup,&nbsp;Sushmita Sen winning Miss Universe crown, the Kargil war, Mumbai attacks to PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan,&nbsp;all are beautifully incorporated into the story.&nbsp;<br />

<p><strong>The writing of 'Laal Singh Chaddha'</strong><br />

The beauty of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' lies in the fact that while some important messages are delivered through the narrative, it never turns preachy. It celebrates humanity above religion and caste —&nbsp;somewhat like Aamir's other film 'PK'. But while 'PK' did have Aamir Khan preaching about humanity, here the messaging is subtle and more layered. At the onset, it is about a slow-witted Laal and the people in his life but when you look deeper, the film is a commentary on evolving socio-political scenario in India. Without taking sides, the film tries to reiterate that humanity is above religion. "Mazhab malaria paida kar sakta hai,"&nbsp;says Aamir to Vij's character in a poignant moment.<br />
<br />
The film takes a few liberties, especially while showing Vij's character who plays a fundamentalist and is saved by Laal during the Kargil war and then treated in an Army hospital. Slightly stretched from reality where the Indian army saves a Pakistani terrorist and then decides to not pursue him when he disappears into thin air after being treated at the Army hospital. Years later, when Laal meets him, Mohammad lives in Mumbai, is wheelchair-bound and more of a recluse wanting to go back home.<br />
<br />
Shot all across India by Satyajit Pande, the film's canvas is large and picturesque too. From Ladakh to Kerala, the characters are spread across various cities and states, each having an impact on Laal. The music by Pritam too is praiseworthy.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>The performances</strong><br />
<br />
Aamir Khan is known to get into the skin of his characters. Here too, as a turban-wearing Sikh, he adapts certain mannerisms from Hanks' portrayal but somehow appears to ham majorly. Wide-eyed with extra eyelashes, he speaks mostly in Punjabi and 'Hmms' more between sentences. On many occasions, Khan's Laal seems a caricature, in others, his performance reminds you of the characters he played in 'PK' and 'Dhoom 3'. It isn't also always very consistent.<br />
<br />
The film though has Kareena Kapoor Khan in top form. As the sad, beautiful, conflicted Rupa, Kareena adds a certain amount of warmth to the story. The actress delivers a restrained performance,&nbsp;similar as in 'Talaash' and totally steals the show in the limited screen time she has. It is so nice to see the actress evolving her craft with this film. Manav Vij and Mona Singh too deliver commendable performances in the film. Naga Chaitanya, in his Bollywood debut, wins heart as the endearing Bala who wants to quit the army and induct Laal into his family business of sewing underwears. Aamir and Naga share great camaraderie on screen. Some of their scenes are the highlights of the film.&nbsp;</p>

Wide-eyed with extra eyelashes, he speaks mostly in Punjabi and 'Hmms' more between sentences. On many occasions, Khan's Laal seems a caricature, in others, his performance reminds you of the characters he played in 'PK' and 'Dhoom 3'. It isn't also always very consistent. The film though has Kareena Kapoor Khan in top form. As the sad, beautiful, conflicted Rupa, Kareena adds a certain amount of warmth to the story. The actress delivers a restrained performance, similar as in 'Talaash' and totally steals the show in the limited screen time she has. It is so nice to see the actress evolving her craft with this film. Manav Vij and Mona Singh too deliver commendable performances in the film. Naga Chaitanya, in his Bollywood debut, wins heart as the endearing Bala who wants to quit the army and induct Laal into his family business of sewing underwears. Aamir and Naga share great camaraderie on screen. Some of their scenes are the highlights of the film. The film, thanks to the nostalgia, brings a smile ever so often. Be it with SRK's cameo or Sushmita Sen's winning moment in 1993 Miss Universe pageant or even a glimpse of 1983 cricket world cup, narrative gives the film more gravitas. 'Laal Singh Chaddha' may have been promoted as Aamir Khan's big film, but it is worth a watch for actors other than him and for its heartwarming story. This is not Aamir's best performance and don't expect it to impact you the way some of his previous films have. 'Laal Singh Chaddha' released in theatres on Thursday.

<p>The seventh edition of the talk show is currently airing on Disney+ Hotstar and it has seen the who's who of Indian cinema such as Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vijay Deverakonda, who got their A-game on and spoke freely about their lives on Karan's famous sofa.<br />

Ranveer and Alia were the first to be a part of the maiden episode of the show, which first aired on the OTT platform on July 8. The '83' star spoke candidly about how he has a "different sex playlist".</p>

Vijay, who`s now regarded as perhaps the country's sexiest single man, revealed to Karan that the most public place he has had sex in is "a boat". Appearing with 'Liger' co-star Ananya Panday in the fourth episode, Vijay clarified that the boat in question was in fact "like a small yacht".</p>

<p>Karan replied: "In the middle of the ocean? Nobody else or like... ?" Hearing the actor's reply, Karan remarked that it was sexy, even as Ananya said, "I don't do all these things."</p>

<p>Karan jumped on Ananya's statement and asked her if she hadn`t had sex in a public place, she said, "I haven't done it." Vijay also let out that he had had sex in cars. Karan then questioned, "But aren`t they uncomfortable? I haven`t done anything in a car." To which Vijay said, "Desperate times."</p>

<p>In it, when Aamir is questioned by Nagarjuna about how he managed to get into the various looks of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, Aamir replied, "This transformation has been done by the VFX people."</p>

<p>However, when Aamir made the statement, Chiranjeevi did not believe him and playfully asked that this part of the interview should be edited out. He said, "Edit this part out. I won’t believe."</p>

Chiranjeevi wants to remove part of his 'Laal Singh Chaddha' interview with Aamir Khan

<p>Rumours were rife that Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is expecting her third child when she was out on a vacation in Europe with her husband Saif Ali Khan and two sons Taimur and Jeh Ali Khan. A picture of the 41-year-old with a baby bump had been doing rounds on social media. And, many believed that the actress is indeed going to embrace motherhood for the third time soon. However, in a recent interview, Kapoor debunked all the rumours and put a stop to all the speculations. She shared that the picture was morphed and she has just gained a little weight these days.</p>

<p>In an interview with HT, Kareena said, "That picture was morphed! My tummy looked like that, and I went ‘Oh my God, is it that? Or maybe it’s the wine and pasta, I don’t know!’ I had been on a 40 day vacation, I have no idea, I lost count of how many pizzas I had eaten. That’s it, I had to take it in my stride, and say ‘chill, it’s okay, we are also human beings’."</p>

<p>As per the 3-minute-long clip, Kusha Kapila will be seen as the judge while Riteish Deshmukh and Varun Sharma will act as the lawyers. And, several guests such as Kareena Kapoor, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Badshah among others will grace the show.</p>

<p>Kareena Kapoor will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh's film. She has signed up for Sujoy's&nbsp;Devotion, film&nbsp;adaptation of Keigo Huganshino’s Japanese novel 'The Devotion Of Suspect X'.</p>

<p>Kareena Kapoor Khan will&nbsp;play&nbsp;a divorced&nbsp;single mother who murders her abusive ex-husband and is then helped by her sympathetic neighbour&nbsp;to dispose of the body. The film stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat along with the actress.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film has been in works since a long time now. Earlier, the film was to be made back in 2017. It was to be produced by Ekta Kapoor with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the leading role. Back then too, Sujoy Ghosh was to direct.&nbsp;The project, however, got shelved at the time.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now, the film has got a green light.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Actress Kareena Kapoor has finally tested negative for covid-19. She was tested positive for the deadly virus earlier this month after attending a gathering at Karan Johar's residence.&nbsp;<br />

<p>A day after Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor confirmed that she had tested positive for COVID-19, her residence was sanitised by Brihanmumbai Municipality Corporation. Kareena and her friend, actress Amrita Arora both tested positive on Monday.&nbsp;<br />

Now reports have revealed that the actresses had attended filmmaker Karan Johar's party last week where one of the guests, designer Seema Khan had symptoms of COVID-19.&nbsp;<br />

News reports state that Seema Khan tested positive on December 11. Soon her friend and designer Maheep Kapoor too confirmed that she had contracted the disease along with Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora.&nbsp;</p>
