Rahul Dravid has been rested for India's upcoming tour of New Zealand. Dravid was given some rest by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the end of India's T20 World Cup campaign in Australia. Under Dravid, Rohit Sharma-led India topped their group in the Super 12 round but bowed out of the competition with a heavy ten-wicket defeat at the hands of eventual winners England in the semi-finals.&nbsp;

After the series, BCCI was quick to give a break to Dravid whereas many regulars such as captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, etc. have also been rested for the white-ball tour of NZ, which gets underway on Friday (November 18) in Wellington. Ahead of the series, former India head coach&nbsp;Ravi Shastri has questioned Dravid for his frequent breaks.&nbsp;

"I do not believe in&nbsp;breaks," Shastri said during a virtual press conference ahead of India-NZ&nbsp;first T20I. "Because I want to understand my team, I want to understand my players and I want to then, be in control of that team. These breaks... what do you need that many breaks for to be honest? You get your 2-3 months of the IPL, that's enough for you to rest as a coach. But other times, I think a coach should be hands on, whoever he is."

Along with Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach&nbsp;Paras Mhambrey have also been rested for the NZ tour. During India's last tour of SL, in July 2021, Dravid filled in for Shastri as the head coach when India's second-stringed white-ball side toured the Lankan nation whereas Shastri-Virat Kohli-led India's red-ball team were involved in a five-match Test series in England.

Similarly this year, VVS Laxman filled in for Dravid during Hardik Pandya-led India's two T20Is versus Ireland, in Dublin, and the three-match ODI series versus hosts Zimbabwe in August. During the Ireland trip, Dravid was with the Indian Test team, in the United Kingdom, whereas given rest for the Zimbabwe tour.

'What do you need that many breaks for' - Shastri not in favour of Dravid being granted frequent rests

India is set to take on New Zealand in the first of the three-match T20I series, in Wellington, on Friday (November 18). After the dismal end to their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign, in Australia, the Men in Blue will start a new cycle, keeping the next edition of the T20 WC in mind, with plenty of youngsters in focus. In the absence of many regular players such as captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, etc., the focus will be on stand-in captain Hardik Pandya, his deputy Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill and the likes.&nbsp;

Ahead of the series opener, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has chosen a new batting slot for keeper-batter Pant. Many former cricketers believe Pant can be most effective if he bats higher up in the order. Jaffer has also backed the swashbuckling left-hander to open the innings in a series where India are without their key players. "The best place for Pant to bat is at the top of the order,” Jaffer was quoted as saying on ESPNcricinfo.&nbsp;“When fielders are up and Pant gets going at the start of the innings, he becomes a dangerous player like he bats in Tests and ODIs. Once he gets a start of 20-30, then he is dangerous. I don’t think fielders outside doesn’t matter to him,” the veteran further stated.

“When he comes in at No.5, the pressure is on him and it’s difficult for him to hit sixes. Pant is the kind of player you want to give India a blistering start,” Jaffer added.

Recently, Robin Uthappa -- part of MS Dhoni-led India's victorious 2007 T20 WC campaign -- also shared a similar opinion with regard to Pant's batting spot in the shortest format for Team India.&nbsp;

"The next World Cup is in two years' time. So, keeping the conditions there in mind, I feel Rishabh Pant should bat in the top 3," Uthappa told&nbsp;Sportskeeda in a recent interaction. "If you look at his IPL records, his best performances have come when he has opened or when he has batted at No. 3. So, you have to give him the opportunity to become a match-winner in that position," he further asserted.

Given India are eyeing a revamp in their playing style in T20Is, it might be possible that the team management can promote Pant as an opener.&nbsp;

'Best place for him is...' - Ex-India opener suggests batting position for Rishabh Pant ahead of NZ T20Is

India's run in the T20 World Cup 2022 edition ended with a heavy defeat at the hands of eventual winners England in the semi-finals. Being asked to bat first, at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Rohit Sharma-led India rode on half-centuries from Virat Kohli (40-ball 50) and Hardik Pandya (33-ball 63) to post an at-par total; 168 for 6. Nonetheless, it wasn't enough as England openers Jos Buttler (40-ball 80) and Alex Hales (46-ball 87 not out) chased down the target with an unbeaten 170-run opening stand with four overs to spare.

With this performance, India's T20 WC dreams were shattered and many have raised fingers at the team selection, captaincy and India's playing template in the shortest format. As wholesome changes are expected going ahead, former Indian chief selector and 1983 ODI World Cup-winning member Kris Srikkanth has named his choice on who should lead India in T20Is in&nbsp;the 2024 T20 World Cup, in West Indies and USA.

"See if I was the chairman of the selection committee, I would say that Hardik Pandya should be the captain of the 2024 World Cup, straight away, I had put it that way – number one," the former chief selector said in an interaction with Star Sports.

Srikkanth also stressed the fact&nbsp;that India desperately need more fast bowling all-rounders. "You need more fast-ball all-rounders. Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant? Former chief selector names India's captain for 2024 T20 World Cup

Rohit Sharma-led India had a disappointing end to the T20 World Cup 2022 campaign. The 2007 winners topped their group to reach the last four round but were demolished by eventual champions England by ten wickets in the semi-finals to return home. Thus, the senior men's team's wait for an ICC title continues since 2013. After their dismal performance in the semi-final, many former cricketers and experts of the game have heavily criticised Team India and their style of play and called for the inclusion of young faces in the T20I set up.&nbsp;

Many expect Hardik Pandya to succeed Rohit as the T20I captain, who will also lead a second-stringed side in the forthcoming three T20Is versus hosts New Zealand, whereas some senior players are expected to take a call on their future in the shortest format. Amid all this, former English spinner Monty Panesar has called for the likes of Rohit, R Ashwin and Dinesh Karthik to retire.

"India disappointed everyone (with the way they lost in the semi-final), and I think there are some retirements coming up," Panesar told Times of India. "Let's be honest. India didn't put up a fight in the semis. It was a completely one-sided affair. Indian bowling looked clueless in front of Buttler and Hales. You are playing the semis and you need to give a solid fight; 168 is not a small score," he pointed out.

Panesar, who troubled the Indians with his spin bowling in Alastair Cook-led England's famous Test series win versus hosts India in 2012-13, further added, "Rohit, Dinesh Karthik and R Ashwin are the top names who could say goodbye to T20I cricket. The team management will surely have a meeting with these guys and will ask them about their plans... It is time these players make way for young players."

"Virat is in great form. He is the fittest among all the Indian players. Age is just a number for Virat considering his super fitness. You may see him in the 2024 T20 World Cup. I&nbsp;am not seeing Rohit being part of that tournament, DK and Ashwin too (may not be there). There could be more players (considering T20I retirement), but these three, I think, will leave T20Is and focus on Tests and ODIs," Panesar concluded.

The likes of Rohit, Ashwin and DK are above 35 years of age. Given the three didn't have a great run in the just-concluded T20 WC, the trio are expected to be sidelined from the format or they can consider retirement in order to focus on other formats.&nbsp;

Monty Panesar names three players whose T20I retirement is on cards after India's T20 WC campaign

India had another terrible end to their campaign in another&nbsp;men's ICC event with a humiliating ten-wicket loss to England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 edition. On Thursday (November 10), Rohit Sharma &amp; Co. locked horns with Jos Buttler-led England, at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, and were asked to bat first.

Riding on half-centuries from Virat Kohli (40-ball 50) and Hardik Pandya's scintillating 33-ball 63 to post 168 for 6. Their timid approach, along with English bowlers bowling the right lengths, led to India posting below 185-190. In reply, Buttler's 80* and Alex Hales' 47-ball 86 not out led the 2010 winners to the final, where they face Pakistan at the MCG, Melbourne on Sunday (November 13).

Following this defeat, India remain trophyless in big-ticket events since 2013. Since then, the senior men's team have lost four semis and two finals. Their last ICC title came under MS Dhoni, under whom India won all three mega titles. After the loss, former Indian opener recalled Dhoni's achievements and said while speaking at Star Sports, "Someone will come and probably score more double 100s than Rohit Sharma and more 100s than Virat Kohli, but I don't think any Indian captain would be able to achieve three ICC trophies."

'Don't think any Indian captain...': Gautam Gambhir recalls MS Dhoni's laurels after India's T20 WC exit

Rohit Sharma-led India lost to England by 10&nbsp;wickets in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 edition on Thursday (November 10). Being asked to bat first, at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, India managed a par score of 168 for 6 but Jos Butler's 80 not out and Alex Hales' 86* propelled the Three Lions to the tournament final, where they face Pakistan at the MCG, Melbourne on Sunday (November 13).

With another heartbreaking result in an ICC event, the senior men's team's wait for a mega title continues since 2013. Post the defeat, many former cricketers have reacted to the T20 WC campaign and opined on the road ahead. Former Indian opener-turned-commentator Virender Sehwag has slammed the senior players and called for the inclusion of young faces who can play fearless cricket.

Sehwag pointed out that senior players are given&nbsp;rest during bilateral series,&nbsp;allowing&nbsp; youngsters to feature in the XI, however, the seniors pip the young guns -- irrespective of their performances in limited opportunities -- and to play the ICC events, where India have been without a title since 2013.

Sehwag said on Cricbuzz, "You are winning the bilateral series at home, but you need to see how many of your top players are playing there. They usually take a break, and new players get in who also taste victory in bilateral series. So, if they are winning there, then why can’t they be tried here (in the World Cup)."

"You never know. There are players who play the kind of fearless cricket we're talking about. Be it Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Prithvi Shaw, or Ruturaj Gaikwad. All of them are international players and score runs. As the seniors have been rested, several youngsters are set to tour New Zealand; what reward will they receive if they win in New Zealand?," he asked.

"So, the pressure has to be there on seniors. They should be told that there are boys who are scoring well. And if the seniors don’t perform well, they might be told, ‘thank you, very much’ by the board," Sehwag further added.

Sehwag has a genuine point given India have had all the experience in past ICC events and still haven't won a mega title over the years. Many have called for a change in guard with Hardik Pandya to be named the T20I captain and a new team can revolve around him.

It remains to be seen in which direction is Team India headed post the T20 WC. For now, Hardik is set to lead India in the forthcoming T20I series in the New Zealand tour, from November 18, whereas Shikhar Dhawan will take charge of the ODI side versus the Kiwis.

Rohit, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, etc. will be back during the Bangladesh tour, in December 2022, featuring two Tests and three ODIs.

Sehwag pointed out that senior players are given rest during bilateral series, allowing youngsters to feature in the XI, however, the seniors pip the young guns -- irrespective of their performances in limited opportunities -- and to play the ICC events, where India have been without a title since 2013. Sehwag said on Cricbuzz, "You are winning the bilateral series at home, but you need to see how many of your top players are playing there. They usually take a break, and new players get in who also taste victory in bilateral series. So, if they are winning there, then why can’t they be tried here (in the World Cup)." "You never know.

On Thursday (November 10), Team India faced England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 edition. While many had already pinned their hopes on an India-Pakistan final, after the latter entered the summit clash with a win over New Zealand on Wednesday (November 09), Jos Butler &amp; Co. thrashed the Men in Blue by 10 wickets, chasing 169, at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. Thus, they have now&nbsp;set up a final clash with Babar Azam's led&nbsp; Pakistan.

Being asked to bat first, Rohit-led India managed a decent 168 for 6 riding on half-centuries from Virat Kohli (40-ball 50) and Hardik Pandya's 33-ball 63. In reply, it was a listless performance from the Indian bowlers as Jos Butler-Alex Hales' unbeaten 170-run opening stand buried the 2007 champions Down Under. Butler (49-ball 80*) and Hales' (46-ball 87 not out) smashed as many as 23 boundaries to take the Three Lions home with four overs to spare.

After India's defeat, the senior men's team's ICC-title drought continues since 2013. From 2014-2022, India have lost four semi-finals and&nbsp;three finals. On India's ICC knockouts' achilles' heel, captain Rohit said at the post-match presentation, "Pretty disappointed how it turned up today. We batted well at the backend to get that score. We were not upto the mark with the ball, we couldn't turn up today. It's all about handling the pressure in knockout games. All these guys have played enough to understand that. These guys have played under pressure in IPL games, it's all about keeping calm. We were nervy to start with, but you got to give credit to their openers, they played really well."

On India's whole campaign, the Hitman opined, "When we won the first game, it showed a lot of character. The game against Bangladesh, it was a tricky one. I thought it was difficult defending 85 runs in 9 overs, but we held our nerve and executed our plans. Couldn't do that today, and when you don't execute your plans, you are in trouble."

India, thus, failed to return with the elusive title despite topping their group. They will now travel to New Zealand for a white-ball series.

It's all about keeping calm: Rohit Sharma on India's achilles' heel in ICC knockouts after England hammering

England rode on some good bowling from Chris Woakes (1 for 24), Adil Rashid (1 for 20), and Chris Jordan's 3 for 43 to restrict India to 168 for 6 in 20 overs in the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final, at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, on Thursday (November 10). It was&nbsp;expected to be a close contest but what followed was total mayhem as the 2010 winners rode on skipper Jos Buttler (49-ball 80*) and Alex Hales' (47-ball 86 not out) unbeaten 170-run opening stand to take their side to the tournament finale, where they face Pakistan.

Hales and Buttler timed everything from the middle of the bat as the Indian bowlers got no assistance from the surface. Hales was in a punishable mode from the word go and scored runs at all parts of the ground whereas Buttler joined the party and finished the proceedings with 24&nbsp;balls to spare. None of the Indian bowlers looked threatening at any point as the English openers struck as many as ten sixes and 13 fours in the run-chase.&nbsp;

Earlier, Rohit Sharma &amp; Co. were asked to bat first. KL Rahul departed cheaply for five before Rohit and Kohli stitched a 47-run second-wicket stand. While Kohli tried to up the ante, England tested the duo with Woakes and Rashid bowling some tidy overs. Rohit went back for an unimpressive 28-ball 27 before Kohli and Hardik Pandya joined together. Suryakumar Yadav, the in-form batter, played some lusty shots but lost his wicket for 14.&nbsp;

India scored 68 off the last five overs and 106 off the last ten, with Hardik doing the bulk of the scoring. He returned for a 33-ball 63 whereas Kohli made a 40-ball 50 but India's 168/6 just wasn't enough on the day.

T20 WC: Alex Hales, Jos Buttler bury India Down Under, England to meet Pakistan in final

Team India is set to take on England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 edition on Thursday (November 10) at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. After registering four wins in the Super 12 round, India topped Group 2 and entered the semi-finals though&nbsp;they had&nbsp;missed out on the semis berth in the last edition in 2021. Before their face-off versus Jos Butler-led Three Lions, former English captain Nasser Hussain talked about India's achilles heel in ICC knockouts.

Over the years, India have reached the knockouts in all ICC events -- barring 2021 T20 WC -- since 2014 but have failed to win the title in the last nine years. India's last mega title came in the 2013 Champions Trophy. In this regard, Hussain pointed out in his column for Daily Mail, "You have to say they have underperformed in world tournaments. At times they have played some timid cricket with the bat for the players they have and when working for Sky last summer their former coach Ravi Shastri said that is something they have to change."

<section>
Hussain further wrote, "Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul do play in a slightly old-fashioned way in the first few overs but that has suited India in this tournament because the ball has moved around at the start. India need to be more dynamic if they are going to win World Cups and that is where Suryakumar Yadav — or SKY as he is known — has been so important."

It is to be noted that India have not started well in any of their Super 12 games in the ongoing T20 WC. Openers Rohit and KL Rahul have started off on a slow note and the former has often got out trying to up the ante. The conditions have also favoured the bowlers but Indian openers will like to make a stronger start in the semi-final versus England.

One of India's best performers in the T20 WC has been Suryakumar Yadav, with 225 runs in five games at a strike rate of over 190 (193.97). Speaking on him and Virat Kohli (the leading run-getter with 245 runs with three fifties), Hussain said, "India's dynamism will come at three and four where Virat Kohli is still the master and now has a considerable apprentice in SKY. I don't think I have ever seen a better white-ball innings than the one Kohli played against Pakistan in the group stage at Melbourne. The way he paced his innings as well as some of the shots he played at the end — like hitting Haris Rauf straight back over his head for six — were remarkable. Any professional cricketer watching that on TV would have sat up and just said ‘wow!"

'Rohit, Rahul play in an old-fashioned way' - Hussain on where India lose the plot in ICC knockouts

Team India have entered the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 edition in Australia. They are now gearing up for their face-off versus 2010 winners England in the semis and will aim to get past Jos Buttler &amp; Co. to enter their third T20 WC final overall. While India have not had an easy ride reaching the last four, they have not had much respite off the field as well with continuous travel.&nbsp;

India started their campaign in Melbourne and then travelled to Sydney before playing their last three games in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne, respectively. They are now set to take the field at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide for the semis and amid the regular travel, skipper Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid and former captain Virat Kohli's heartfelt gestures have now come out in the open. As per reports, the Indian team management have taken an important step to ensure the pacers get enough rest and recover in time amid the regular flight travels.

In this regard, Rohit, Dravid and Kohli have sacrificed their business class seats on flights during the T20 WC.&nbsp;“Before the tournament, we decided that since the pace bowlers clock the maximum mileage on field day in, day out, they need to stretch their legs,” a member of the support staff told Indian Express while explaining the unique move.&nbsp;As per the ICC norms&nbsp;for all 16 teams; each squad gets as many as four business-class seats during a flight. Thus, usually such seats are reserved for captain, coach, team manager and a senior player.&nbsp;

Needless to say, Dravid, Rohit and Kohli's act is generous enough for the pace department, featuring Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Md Shami and all-rounder Hardik Pandya. So far, the quadret have impressed a lot with Arshdeep having ten scalps, Shami and Bhuvi with six and four wickets respectively whereas Hardik has also chipped in with regular breakthroughs (having eight scalps from five games).

T20 WC: Rohit, Dravid, Kohli have given up their business class seats for Indian pacers - Reports

The stage is set for the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals. While Pakistan will lock horns with New Zealand in the first semi-final, at the SCG, Sydney on Wednesday (November 09), India will take on England in the second semi-final on Thursday (November 10) at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. India and the Three Lions are set to lock horns for the first time in the Men's T20 WC since the 2012 edition and it is expected to go down to the wire.

Some big-ticket players will rub shoulders against each other such as Rohit Sharma, Jos Buttler, Virat Kohli, Ben Stokes, Hardik Pandya, Liam Livingstone, etc. Prior to the highly-awaited face-off, English all-rounder Stokes was all praise for in-form Kohli. The 31-year-old Stokes stated that he failed to understand why people had started to write off a player of Kohli's calibre during his struggle period, prior to the Asia Cup 2022 edition, and believes that it is improbable to do what Kohli has done with the bat across formats for years.

"Look at that form. How unbelievable it is. As you know, he had a not-so-loud couple of months and, for some reason, players like that will get written off. I’ve got no idea why. I think he’s earned the right to never be written off. You don’t produce the number and produce the innings that he does over all three formats," Stokes told reporters in Adelaide ahead of England's semi-final against Rohit-led Men in Blue.

Kohli is currently the leading run-getter in the T20 WC, with 245 runs in five games including three half-centuries under his belt. 'He’s earned the right to...' - Ben Stokes all praise for Virat Kohli ahead of India-ENG T20 WC semi-final

Rohit Sharma-led India stormed into the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals with a big win over Zimbabwe in their last league stage encounter. While India had already qualified for the semis prior to taking the field versus the African nation, following South Africa's shocking exit, they still had to beat Craig Ervine &amp; Co. and the one-time winners managed to do that in style. Batting first, India rode on Suryakumar Yadav's 25-ball 61 not out and KL Rahul's 51 to post a daunting 186 for 5. In reply, India dismissed the opposition for a modest 115 in 17.2 overs to win by 71 runs.

While R Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers, returning with 3 for 23, former Indian captain Kapil Dev remains unimpressed with the wily off-spinner's overall numbers in the ongoing T20 WC in Australia. Ahead of India's semi-final encounter versus England, he told ABP News, "Until now, Ashwin hasn't given me confidence. He picked up wickets today but it didn't look as if he got them. In fact,&nbsp;batsmen iss tarah out huye ki unhe khud bhi 1-2 wickets lete huye sharam aa rahi thi&nbsp;(Some of the batsmen got out in a way that Ashwin himself couldn't believe it). He was hiding his face. Picking up wickets obviously gives you that confidence but the Ashwin we know, we haven't seen him show the same rhythm."

"It depends on the team management. If they have the confidence in Ashwin, it's good. He has played the entire tournament so he can adjust if need be. But if you want to surprise the opposition, they can always turn to the wrist-spinner (Chahal). Whoever wins the confidence of the management and captain, will play," Kapil concluded.

Ashwin has so far claimed six wickets in five games in the Super 12 round of the T20 WC Down Under. While he was expensive versus South Africa, he did create a chance before Virat Kohli dropped a sitter off his bowling, to give a lifeline to Aiden Markam. He has bowled decently in conditions not akin for spinners. Nonetheless, Indian fans will hope for him to play a bigger role in the knockouts and take India to their second T20 WC title.&nbsp;

In fact, batsmen iss tarah out huye ki unhe khud bhi 1-2 wickets lete huye sharam aa rahi thi (Some of the batsmen got out in a way that Ashwin himself couldn't believe it). He was hiding his face. Picking up wickets obviously gives you that confidence but the Ashwin we know, we haven't seen him show the same rhythm." ALSO READ | Rahul Dravid heaps praise on Suryakumar, reveals reason behind No. 1 ranked T20I batter's success "It depends on the team management. If they have the confidence in Ashwin, it's good. He has played the entire tournament so he can adjust if need be. But if you want to surprise the opposition, they can always turn to the wrist-spinner (Chahal). Whoever wins the confidence of the management and captain, will play," Kapil concluded. Ashwin has so far claimed six wickets in five games in the Super 12 round of the T20 WC Down Under. While he was expensive versus South Africa, he did create a chance before Virat Kohli dropped a sitter off his bowling, to give a lifeline to Aiden Markam. He has bowled decently in conditions not akin for spinners. Nonetheless, Indian fans will hope for him to play a bigger role in the knockouts and take India to their second T20 WC title.

India rode on Suryakumar Yadav's brilliance once again as Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue thrashed Zimbabwe by 71 runs in their last league stage encounter at the T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday (November 06). Batting first, India rode on KL Rahul's splendid 51 but were reduced to 101 for 4, after being 87 for 1, before SKY's brilliance (a 25-ball 61 not out) propelled the one-time winners to a daunting 186 for 5.

In reply, Craig Ervine-led Zimbabwe only managed a paltry 115 all-out in 17.2 overs as India stormed into the semi-finals with a big win under their belt, topping their group as well. After the match, Suryakumar Yadav earned his second Player-of-the-Match award in the Super 12 round and head coach Rahul Dravid heaped praise on him.

“If I look at Surya from a couple of years ago, just to see (now) how he takes care of his body and the amount of time he spends on his fitness. . . he’s just really earning the reward for a lot of the hard work that he’s put in on and off the field. Long may it continue. He has been absolutely phenomenal for us. He’s a joy to watch. It’s a pleasure to watch him bat when he’s in that kind of form. It’s like he puts on a show, every time,” Dravid said during a post-match conference.

Rahul Dravid heaps praise on Suryakumar, reveals reason behind No. 1 ranked T20I batter's success

On Wednesday (November 02), India beat Bangladesh in a crucial Super 12 clash in the T20 World Cup 2022 edition. The two Asian teams locked horns at the iconic Adelaide Oval, Adelaide where Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangla Tigers asked India to bat first.

After losing Rohit Sharma cheaply, KL Rahul's 50 and Virat Kohli's unbeaten 44-ball 64, laced with 8 fours and a six, took India to 184 for 6 in 20 overs. Bangladesh were off to a flier and were 66 for no loss after seven overs before rain halted play. When the match resumed, the revised target for Bangladesh was 151 in 16 overs with a well-set Litton Das. Litton was run out for a magnificent 27-ball 60, courtesy of Rahul's rapid throw from the deep, as India clawed their way back into the contest and won by five runs (DLS method).

While Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya were among wickets, Shami also played his part with the ball, the Indian fielders rose to the occasion post the rain break. Nonetheless, it was well setup by Kohli and he walked away with the Player-of-the-Match award.

At the post-match presentation, Rohit lauded Kohli and spoke at length regarding his solid form. He said, "In my opinion he was always there, it was a matter of few innings here and there, he got it in the Asia Cup. We never had any doubts and the way he has been batting in this World Cup has been tremendous and he is really doing it for us."

In the run-up to the T20 WC, Kohli was struggling for runs before he redeemed himself as the second-highest run-getter in the Asia Cup 2022 edition. Since then, he has looked at his fluent best and is looking in his elements in the ongoing T20 WC. He already has three half-centuries in four games and became the highest run-getter in the current edition during the Bangladesh tie.

Meanwhile, Kohli told the broadcasters after bagging the POTM award (his second in the ongoing competition), "Pretty close game. Not as close as we would have liked it to be. A good day with the bat. When I went in there was a bit of pressure. I didn't want little mistakes to curb my instincts. I am in a happy place. I don't want to compare it with the past. As soon as I knew the WC is in Australia, I was grinning from ear to ear. Good cricketing shots will be the key here is what I know. Hitting through the line is what I do in every format. It is just an extension for me. I love playing at this ground. This makes me feel at home. When I come to Adelaide, I am meant to enjoy myself and keep batting."

Virat Kohli goes past Sachin Tendulkar to achieve elite feat after 64* in India-Bangladesh T20 WC clash

India have locked horns with Bangladesh in a crucial Super 12 clash in the T20 World Cup 2022 edition on Wednesday (November 02), at the picturesque Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. Being asked to bat first, Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue posted a competitive 184/6 riding on KL Rahul's 50 and Virat Kohli's unbeaten 44-ball 64.

After Rahul's fluent knock, the onus fell on Kohli who held one end and took the one-time winners to a score near the 200-run mark. However, a minor controversy broke during the 15th over of the Indian innings.&nbsp;In the final delivery of the 15th over, pacer Hasan Mahmud banged in a short ball it rose on to the right-hander. Kohli immediately gestured at the umpires for a no-ball. The on-field umpire Marais Erasmus gave it a no-ball but Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan wasn't impressed with Kohli's appeal.

T20 WC: Shakib Al Hasan baffled as Virat Kohli asks for a no-ball from umpires, duo involved in brief chat

After India's loss to South Africa in their Super 12 clash in the T20 World Cup, in Australia, a huge controversy broke out. A&nbsp;housekeeping staff member at the Crown in Perth shared a video of Virat&nbsp;Kohli's room and shared it on social media. This led the former Indian captain fuming and has prompted reactions from many in the cricketing fraternity.&nbsp;

In the run-up to India's face-off versus Bangladesh, at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on Wednesday (November 02), former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar also joined in and shared his take on the matter, criticising the staff's behaviour.

"Definitely yes. Today, with these phone cameras, there is a very thin line between your privacy and where you are in the public domain. Sometimes you are sitting in the car as well, going to a match or maybe not going to a match, and when a camera is inside and trying to take you. Is that an invasion of privacy? I don't know,"&nbsp;Gavaskar told India Today in an exclusive interview.

"But I think in your hotel room? Yes 100 percent, you need that privacy. Nobody should be doing what was done. I didn't see the video but I heard about it and I think it is simply not done," the Little Master&nbsp;added.

While resharing the video posted by the hotel staff, Kohli wrote on Instagram, "I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that."

"But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? Following Kohli's revelation, the Crown Resorts, where the Indian team stayed in Perth, stated, "The safety and privacy of our guests is our number one priority, and we are incredibly disappointed this incident has occurred. We unreservedly apologise to the guest involved and will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure this remains an isolated incident."

"We have zero tolerance for this behaviour, and it falls well below the standards we set for our team members and contractors. Crown has taken immediate steps to rectify the issue. The individuals involved have been stood down and removed from the Crown account, and the original video was swiftly removed from the social media platform," it added.

"Crown is conducting an investigation with the third-party contractor and will take any further steps necessary to ensure an incident of this nature does not happen again. We are also co-operating with the Indian Cricket team and the International Cricket Council to convey our apologies and will continue to work with them as we progress the investigation," the statement added.

'Nobody should be....': Sunil Gavaskar left disappointed by Virat Kohli hotel room incident in Perth

Ahead of India's crucial Super 12 clash versus Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup, head coach Rahul Dravid reacted to BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma's recent remark, where he claimed that Team India&nbsp;will win the mega event in Australia.

After BCCI announced India's squads for the forthcoming tour of New Zealand and Bangladesh, which will take place after the T20 WC Down Under, Sharma addressed a virtual presser. He was asked to comment on India's team selection and whether they should play Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik.&nbsp;

To this, Sharma said, "Tournament k andar selection committee ko koi comment nahi karna chahie. (I should refrain from commenting&nbsp;on team selection during a tournament) That is the call of the captain, coach and team management. After the World Cup, when we sit and discuss, I will definitely comment on that. It will be wrong for me to say anything in the middle of the tournament. I'm with the team. I'm watching. We are performing brilliantly and we will win the World Cup."

After BCCI announced India's squads for the forthcoming tour of New Zealand and Bangladesh, which will take place after the T20 WC Down Under, Sharma addressed a virtual presser. He was asked to comment on India's team selection and whether they should play Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik. To this, Sharma said, "Tournament k andar selection committee ko koi comment nahi karna chahie. (I should refrain from commenting on team selection during a tournament) That is the call of the captain, coach and team management. After the World Cup, when we sit and discuss, I will definitely comment on that. It will be wrong for me to say anything in the middle of the tournament. I'm with the team. I'm watching. We are performing brilliantly and we will win the World Cup." Dinesh Karthik suffered an injury while keeping wickets during India's low-scoring thriller versus South Africa in the Men's T20 World Cup 2022, on Sunday (October 30) in Perth. After two successive wins, Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue locked horns with Temba Bavuma's South Africa and managed only a modest 133 for 9, riding on Suryakumar Yadav's 40-ball 66.

In reply, the Proteas slipped and were reduced to 40 for 3 before fifties from Aiden Markram (52) and David Miller (59 not out) propelled them to a five-wicket win in the last over. During the run-chase, Karthik suffered&nbsp;a cramp on his back&nbsp;and left&nbsp;the field with&nbsp;Rishabh Pant donning the gloves in the final&nbsp;overs.

Ahead of India's next game, where they take on Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on Wednesday (November 02), head coach Rahul Dravid spilled the beans on Karthik and gave an update. In the pre-match presser, the former Indian captain said, "He's pulled up pretty well today. Unfortunately, he had that spasm when he jumped to collect a bouncer and then he landed badly, in a way that he did his back in a little bit. But with treatment and some days, he's pulled up pretty well this morning. He's come to training and so, we will be assessing it."

"We will see how it goes and how he pulls up tomorrow morning after a good practice session today. We will put him through his paces and ensure that we have given him a good workout and then see how he pulls up tomorrow morning before making a final decision,"&nbsp;Dravid added.

Karthik has played his best T20I innings versus the Bangla Tigers, during the 2018 Nidahas Trophy final (wiht an unbeaten 8-ball 29*). Hence, he will be desperate to regain fitness and also return to his scoring ways after no such worthy contribution with the bat so far in the competition.

T20 WC: 'He's come to training...' - Dravid provides update on Dinesh Karthik's fitness ahead of IND-BAN tie

India and Pakistan played&nbsp;a humdinger of a clash in the ongoing Men's T20 World Cup 2022 edition, at the iconic MCG, Melbourne. In front of a jam-packed stadium, Rohit Sharma-led India beat Pakistan on the final ball of the contest to emerge on top by four wickets.

Opting to bowl first, India restricted Babar Azam &amp; Co. for 159 for 8 in 20 overs, with Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya chipping in with three-fers each. In reply, India were tottering at 31 for 4 before Virat Kohli's masterclass (82 not out off 53 balls) and Hardik's 37-ball 40 took India past the finsh line. After the stupendous success of the Indo-Pak face-off, former Aussie all-rounder&nbsp;Simon O’Donnell called the match “extraordinary” and made a big claim.

"That [their T20 World Cup clash] was extraordinary. That game itself is the one that's held the tournament up so far, people keep referring back to it. There were 90,000 at a neutral venue, there was extraordinary emotion, the scenes of the game, the tightness of the game, the pressure," O'Donnell recalled the epic encounter while speaking&nbsp;on SEN Radio.

Discussions are on for India-Pakistan Test in Australia: Former Aussie all-rounder makes big claim

India lost to South Africa by five wickets in their third Super 12 clash at the Men's T20 World Cup on Sunday (October 30) at the Perth Stadium, Perth. Batting first, India managed only a paltry 133-9 riding on Suryakumar Yadav's 40-ball 68.&nbsp;In reply, SA were 40-3 in ten overs before fifties from Aiden Markram and David Miller lead their side to a win in 19.4 overs as they now occupy the top spot in their group. After the loss, many pointed fingers at Rohit Sharma for choosing R Ashwin to bowl the 18th over, with SA still in need of 25 off the final 18 balls. While Ashwin removed Tristan&nbsp;Stobbs, he conceded two sixes to bring down the equation in favour of the Proteas.&nbsp;

Many thought Hitman had irked with his tactics by not giving the ball to Md Shami or Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 18th over (with both pacers left with an over each). At the post-match presentation, Rohit explained the thought process behind his move and said, "I've seen what happens with the spinners in the last over, so I wanted to go the other way. If I can finish Ash, I just wanted to make sure that the seamers are bowling the right overs. You have to use it at some point. With the new batter, it was the perfect time for him to bowl. Miller played some good shots as well."

During India's defence, Arshdeep Singh (2 for 25), Md Shami (1 for 13) and Hardik Pandya (1 for 29) were the most effective bowlers whereas Bhuvi also remained economical, raising questions with his swing. However, Ashwin went for plenty as Markram-Miller went after him to ease the pressure. The wily off-spinner ended with 4-0-43-1 but could've gotten the wicket of Markam, in the 12th over, had Virat Kohli held onto a simple catch at the deep.

T20 WC: Rohit Sharma explains thought process behind giving the ball to R Ashwin in 18th over vs SA

Team India conceded their first game in the Men's T20 World Cup 2022 edition, losing to South Africa by five wickets at the Perth Stadium, Perth on Sunday (October 30). Batting first on a spicy wicket, Rohit Sharma-led India never got going and were reduced to 49 for 5 in no time before Suryakumar Yadav's gutsy and entertaining 40-ball 68 propelled India to 133-9 in 20 overs. In reply, SA were tottering at 40-3 at the halfway stage before the fifties from Aiden Markram (52) and David Miller (59 not out) took their side home in the last over. With the win, the Temba Bavuma-led Proteas now occupy the top spot in Group B.

Talking about India, the one-time winners' campaign is still on track and they very much remain in the race to seal a semi-final spot. Given India started their campaign with two back-to-back wins, they have four points from three games and will now face Bangladesh (November 02) and Zimbabwe (November 6) in their last two group stage encounters. After the defeat to South Africa, India is likely to end in the second spot and qualify for the last four.&nbsp;

While anything can happen in the remaining matches at the T20 WC, there are quite a few incredible patterns for Team India which indicate that they might have the final laugh at the ICC event in Australia. Here's a look at such factors which point out that it might be Rohit &amp; Co.'s T20 WC:

1) The last time India successfully defended a score versus Australia in a warm-up game prior to the World Cup was in 2011. Ahead of the 2011 ODI WC, MS Dhoni's India dismissed Australia for a paltry 176 after posting 214, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. In the run-up to the T20 WC 2022 Down Under, the Men in Blue did the same by defending a competitive score, 186 for 7, by six runs. Will 2011 heroics repeat this time around?

2) Ireland defeated England in the group stage of the T20 WC 2022 edition on October 26, at the MCG, Melbourne. The last time the Irish side defeated the Three Lions in a World Cup was in 2011. Well, we all know which side walked away with the mega title.&nbsp;

3) The last time SA defeated India in an ICC event came in the 2011 ODI WC. Back then, the Proteas defeated India with two balls to spare. On Sunday (October 30), Bavuma &amp; Co. also won in 19.4 overs.&nbsp;

4) The last time India faced the Netherlands in an ICC event was also in 2011. Before that, they had faced them during the 2003 edition of the 50-over World Cup. So, whenever India have faced the Dutch line-up, they have reached the finals; winning the championship in the last instance.

After India's defeat versus the Proteas, captain Rohit said at the post-match presentation, "We expected that the pitch will have something in it. We knew that there'll be a lot of help for the seamers, that's why it wasn't an easy target to chase. We fell a little short with the bat. We fought well, but South Africa were better today. When you see that score (40/3 in 10), you'll always think you're in the game. That was a match-winning partnership from Markram and Miller. We were a little poor in the field, we gave so many chances and we weren't clinical. We were just not good enough."

Four incredible patterns that suggest India might lift the T20 World Cup 2022 trophy

Virat Kohli produced a masterclass in India's T20 World Cup (T20 WC) opener when they faced Pakistan at the MCG, Melbourne on October 23 (Sunday). Opting to bowl first, Rohit Sharma-led India restricted the Men in Green for 159 for 8, with three-fers from Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya.&nbsp;

In reply, India were tottering at 31 for 4 and needed 115 off the last 60 balls with Kohli-Hardik in the middle. The duo stitched an impressive 113-run fifth-wicket stand to take the game to the last over, with 16 needed for a memorable victory. India eventually got past the finish line on the last ball of the contest, with four wickets in hand. Kohli's inning was laced with 6 fours and 4 sixes, at a strike rate of 154.72, and was rightly rewarded with the Player-of-the-Match award.

Kohli's record at the T20 WC is impeccable, to say the least. As India take on the Netherlands in their second Super 12 clash, on Thursday (October 27) at the SCG, Sydney, the 33-year-old is on the cusp of entering an elite list. He is 73 runs away from entering the 1,000-run club in the T20 WC. So far, only Mahela Jayawardene is part of this list. Hence, Kohli will be the second to be a part of&nbsp;the elusive list.

Mahela Jayawardene - 1,016&nbsp;runs

Chris Gayle - 965 runs&nbsp;

Virat Kohli - 927 runs (with 11 fifties at an average of 84.27)

Tillakaratne Dilshan - 897

Kohli is also 90 runs away from becoming the leading run-getter in the T20 WC history. Given his form, he can achieve this feat in India's face-off versus the Dutch line-up.

It is to be noted that this is India and Netherlands' first face-off in the format. At the coin toss, Rohit &amp; Co. have opted to bat first,&nbsp;at the SCG, with an unchanged XI after their Pakistan clash. Will it be another Kohli special? Only time will tell...

India and Pakistan produced a humdinger of a clash when they locked horns in the Super 12 round of the Men's T20 World Cup (T20 WC) on Sunday (October 23), at the iconic MCG, Melbourne. Bowling first, India restriced Pakistan for 159-8 riding on three-wicket hauls from Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya.&nbsp;

In reply, India were on the back foot and tottering at 31 for 4. Virat Kohli (82 not out) and Hardik (37-ball 40) revived the run-chase with an impressive 113-run fifth-wicket stand before the last over started with India needing 16 for a win. Hardik fell and Dinesh Karthik also returned back to the pavillion, with India requiring two from the final delivery.&nbsp;

R Ashwin came out in the middle. Holding his nerves, Ashwin confidently left a delivery from Md Nawaz, which was called a wide to level the scores. After that, he smacked a four on the last ball of the contest to take India to a famous four-wicket win at the jam-packed stadium.

Recalling that Nawaz delivery which was a wide, Ashwin hilariously stated on BCCI.TV during an interaction with&nbsp;Hrishikesh Kanitkar, "If that ball of Nawaz turned and hit my pad then only one thing I do was back to dressing room and picked my Twitter and write 'Thank you so much, It was wonderful my cricketing career and Journey and thank you all (laughs)'."

Rohit Sharma-led India are up against the Netherlands in their second Super 12 clash at the Men's T20 World Cup 2022 edition, on Thursday (October 27) at the SCG, Sydney. After winning the toss, Rohit &amp; Co. opted to bowl first and rode on half-centuries from the skipper (53), Virat Kohli (62 not out) and Suryakumar Yadav (unbeaten 51) to post a challenging 179-2 in 20 overs.

During the start of the Indian innings, the one-time winners lost vice-captain KL Rahul for cheap but Rohit accelerated after a slow start to slam his 29th half-century in the format; first as captain in the T20 WC. Hitman's knock comprised 4 fours and 3 sixes. By virtue of his knock, he achieved a huge feat to surpass Yuvraj Singh (33) to now have most sixes by an Indian in the tournament history (34).

In addition, Rohit&nbsp;became the second Indian captain to score a fifty in the T20 WC. In the 2021 T20 WC, then skipper Kohli had hit a half-century (57) during India-Pakistan clash in Dubai. At the coin toss, Rohit said after opting to bat first, "Yeah, morale is really high. Winning a game like that (vs Pakistan) takes your confidence to the next level but at the same time we understand we need to stay calm, just the first game of the tournament and plenty of things to happen. We have to calm ourselves and look forward to this game. We want to keep improving no matter what the results are, it always keeps you in good stead when you are thinking like that. It is important for us to keep ticking those boxes."

After Rohit's dismissal, Kohli and Suryakumar stitched an unbeaten and impressive 95-run third-wicket stand versus the Dutch. Both of them were in their elements and churned out 65 runs in the last five overs. SKY slammed the fourth-fastest fifty for India in the T20 WC as well.

After his unbeaten 51, SKY told the broadcasters, "I’ve enjoyed batting here, enjoyed that partnership. When I went inside, Virat bhai just said keep batting the way you have been batting, so I just expressed myself. Good to see everyone come here and support us, my wife is also around so that’s a great support as well. The wicket is a bit two-paced, it is a good score to defend. This truly is a sensational move in a bid to promote gender equality in sports. In the recent times, the growth of women's cricket has been amazing to watch. Ever since the Mithali Raj-led Indian eves ended as runners-up in the 2017 ODI World Cup, it gave a massive push to&nbsp;women's cricket in the cricket-crazy country.&nbsp;

In recent times, India's senior women's team have been on a roll, winning their maiden ODI series in England, ending with a silver medal at the CWG 2022 and lifting the Asia Cup 2022, in Bangladesh. It is to be noted that BCCI is set to organise the inaugural Women's IPL early next year as well.

'A new era of gender equality': BCCI to give equal match fees to women cricketers as male counterparts

India left for Australia early this month for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma &amp; Co. have had a stellar run in the shortest format in this year and, hence, are one of the title contenders for the marquee edition Down&nbsp;Under. In the last edition, held in 2021 in the UAE, India faltered under pressure and failed to get past the Super 12 round after back-to-back losses in their opening two games, versus Pakistan and New Zealand, respectively.

Thus, India will be keen to turn the tides this time around. They have a strong squad -- compromising Rohit, vice-captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, in-form Suryakumar Yadav, Bhuvnneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, etc. -- and will be desperate to click from the word go. So far, India have won the T20 WC title only once, during the 2007 edition under MS Dhoni, and since then, they managed to reach the top four only twice (with them ending as runners-up in 2014). Will India return with the elusive title? Only time will tell...

This will be the first clash between both sides in the format. In the ODI World Cup, India got the better of the Dutch line-up in both their meetings -- in the 2003 and 2011 editions. Coincidentally, they made it to the final on both the occasions.&nbsp;

India are coming into this game on the back of a stunning four-wicket win over Pakistan in their tournament opener, at the MCG. Playing their arch-rivals at the iconic stadium, on October 23 (Sunday), Rohit Sharma &amp; Co. opted to bowl first and restricted them to 159 for 8.

In reply, India were reeling at 31 for 4 before Virat Kohli's stupendous 82 not out, off 53 balls, and Hardik Pandya's 37-ball 40 brought them&nbsp;back into the contest. With 16 needed off the last over, India triumphed on the final ball to register a famous win. Kohli was the architect of India's win with a match-winning knock that will go down as one of his finest in history.

Netherlands, on the other hand, entered the main draw of the competition after playing the qualifiers. They were up against Bangladesh in their first game and failed to chase 145, being all-out for 135 in 20 overs. After a missed opportunity versus the Bangla Tigers, the Scott Edwards-led side will hope to get inspired from Ireland, who beat England on Wednesday (October 26), and stun the one-time winners.

T20 World Cup 2022, India vs Netherlands, live cricket streaming: When and where to watch epic face-off?

After beating Pakistan in their T20 World Cup (T20 WC)'s opening clash, India have now shifted their focus to their second encounter where they face the Netherlands, on Thursday (October 27) at the SCG, Sydney. Before their face-off versus the Dutch line-up, Team India players didn't have the best of experience after the end of their practice session in Sydney.&nbsp;

After India's optional practice session, on Tuesday (October 25), the dressing room menu was found to be cold and inadequate and the players reported the matter to the official at the iconic SCG. The menu included&nbsp;fruits, falafel and ‘make your own sandwich’, not pleasing the Indian team players.&nbsp;“The food was not up to the mark. We can’t have a sandwich after a practice session,” a member of the Indian squad said as per a report in the Indian Express.

After a practice session, players usually prefer having an adequate and hot meal and, hence, the menu didn't impress the Team India members. The optional session was attended by captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, R Ashwin, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Hooda, along with the support staff. On the other hand, the team management rested the likes of&nbsp;Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh.

BCCI lodges a complaint with the ICC

"BCCI has told ICC that food provided after practice is inadequate. BCCI has further told ICC - How can you give cold sandwiches after 3 hours of practice for lunch? Sandwiches are not even made, players have to make their own sandwiches. This is not acceptable to us. The problem was in Melbourne and now Sydney. ICC had promised to look into it but hot food is the basic. Why wasn’t it looked at earlier?" top sources conveyed Times Now.

After the Pakistan clash, India occupy the second spot in Pool B. The points table is currently led by Bangladesh, who defeated the Netherlands by nine runs, with India, South Africa and Zimbabwe following suit. Pakistan and Netherlands are at the bottom and yet to open their accounts.

After beating Pakistan in their T20 World Cup (T20 WC)'s opening clash, India have now shifted their focus to their second encounter where they face the Netherlands, on Thursday (October 27) at the SCG, Sydney.

Before their face-off versus the Dutch line-up, Team India players didn't have the best of experience after the end of their practice session in Sydney. After India's optional practice session, on Tuesday (October 25), the dressing room menu was found to be cold and inadequate and the players reported the matter to the official at the iconic SCG. The menu included fruits, falafel and ‘make your own sandwich’, not pleasing the Indian team players. “The food was not up to the mark. T20 WC: BCCI slams ICC as lack of hot food prompts India to order online after practice session - Report

After BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, who is also the Asian Cricket Council's (ACC) chief, stated that India won't be travelling to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup, it has led to a huge outrage in the Pakistan cricket fraternity. Several former Pakistan cricketers have slammed the BCCI's decision to take the Asia Cup to a neutral venue. Shahid Afridi had earlier taken to his official Twitter handle to criticise BCCI and has once again come hard on their recent remarks.

Afridi said on ABP News,"Yahan pe BCCI ne thoda bachkana harqat ki hai. Thoda time le lete, koi baat nahi agar decision unhe yahi lena tha World Cup k baad le lete. India-Pakistan ka World Cup ka match, usse pahle is tarike ka bayan dena mere khayal se jaldbaazi thi. Hamesha hamare relation ko cricket ne achchha banaya hai. Humne jis tarah&nbsp;India ko welcome kiya 2003-04 mein phir hum jab India gaye toh jis tarah&nbsp;hame welcome kiya gaya woh dono deshon ke relation ko mazboot karta hai. Jitni cricket hogi utni relationship behtar rahenge. (BCCI gave a childish statement. They should have taken some time before coming&nbsp;out with such a statement. There was a World Cup match and, hence, there was no need for such a remark. Cricket has always unified India and Pakistan, improved relations between&nbsp;the two nations. I can clearly recall how the Indian team was welcomed in Pakistan in 2003-04 and we also received a warm welcome we went there. The more India and Pakistan play, the better their relations will be)."

Earlier, the former Pakistan all-rounder and captain had tweeted saying, "When excellent camaraderie&nbsp;has been established between the two sides in the past 12 months that has created feel-good factor in the countries, why BCCI Secy will make this statement on the eve of #T20WorldCup match? Reflects lack of cricket administration experience in India."

Following Shah's remarks, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also threatened to boycott the ODI World Cup, which will be held later next year in India. A final call on the 50-over Asia Cup will be taken later this year. However, it is unlikely that Pakistan will get to host the continental tournament. Pakistan had last hosted the mega event in 2008, when Sri Lanka beat India in the final, and that was also Men in Blue's last visit to their neighbouring country.

They gave a childish statement: Shahid Afridi once again slams BCCI's decision on Asia Cup 2023

It has been over a month since Deepti Sharma ran Charlie Dean out, at the non-striker's end, as the batter was taking unfair advantage for backing up too far. Since then, Deepti's act has been talked about a lot and has led to divided opinions. While many have backed and lauded Deepti, and fairly blamed Charlie, the English and Aussie cricketers refrain from considering it as a legitimate form of dismissal -- although the International Cricket Council (ICC) and MCC&nbsp;have included it to the run-out law from unfair play -- all-rounder Hardik Pandya joined the bandwagon and shared a strong response in this regard.

Speaking on the latest episode of ICC Review podcast, the 28-year-old Hardik said, "Because you gave the example, we need to stop making a fuss about this. It's a rule, simple as that. To hell with the Spirit of the Game, if it's there, remove the rules, simple as that. The ones who have problems, good for them, that's fine."

The all-rounder further opined that&nbsp;he would be fine if a bowler runs him out at the non-striker's end. Hardik added, "Personally, I have no problem. If I am out, if I am walking out and someone runs me out, fair enough, it's my mistake, not the bowlers. It is using the rules to one's advantage. Simple as that, let’s not make a big deal, that's it."

Hardik was last seen in action during India's memorable four-wicket win over Pakistan in the Super 12 clash at the T20 World Cup (T20 WC) 2022 edition on Sunday (October 23). Hardik returned with 3 for 30, after Rohit Sharma &amp; Co. opted to bowl first at the MCG, Melbourne, and stitched a match-winning 113-run fifth-wicket stand with Virat Kohli (82 not out off 53 balls) to score a 37-ball 40 and help India prevail on the final ball of the contest while chasing 160.

Hardik-starrer India will now face the Netherlands on October 27 (Thursday) at the SCG, Sydney.
