Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be an impact player for India in the ongoing T20 World Cup, India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane said, urging the side to rally around the injury-ravaged cricketer whose role as a bowler is uncertain due to fitness issues.

There has been a lot of debate regarding Pandya's inclusion in the squad as he did not bowl in the recently-concluded IPL. The team management has, time and again, stressed on the importance of his bowling to the side's overall balance.

"We need to support him. When a player comes back from an injury, we don't know what situation he goes through and what is his mindset. It is easy to talk from outside, but what that individual is going through, we can't even feel it," said Rahane said on 'Salaam Cricket 2021' on Sports Tak.

"He has won India many matches in this format with some impactful performances. There will always be outside news, who should play and who shouldn't. Hardik's role is very crucial and we need to back him."

Rahane also feels that his IPL team Delhi Capitals' captain Rishabh Pant would be a "game-changer" for India. The team's World cup campaign opens with a clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday.

"He is such a batsman who can change the complexion of the game immediately. We have seen his ability in Australia in Tests, also against England, he scored runs. He has improved his game immensely. He now knows how to take his game one notch above."

The dew would play a major role in the T20 World Cup, just like it did in the IPL, making toss a crucial aspect of the game. India are playing all their games in the evening and coach Ravi Shastri has stated that dew would decide whether the bowling attack will feature and extra pacer or spinner.

"Dew factor didn't matter in the initial period but it started to make a mark in the finishing stages (during IPL) as the weather started to change a bit," Rahane recalled.

"It came down hard in the final few games, especially in Sharjah, where the toss became very important because of the dew.

"The ball will grip on the UAE wickets which are a bit slow. Batsmen found it difficult to play scoring shots but that changed a bit because of the dew factor. The toss will be very important because of the dew factor."

Talking about India's chances, Rahane said: "India has a strong team, it is a plus point that IPL was held here, weather is also getting better...I hope we win the World Cup. Our team has a good balance.."

"Pakistan players have played a lot of cricket in the UAE. There is not much difference in conditions here and in India, so we know how to adapt to the conditions.

"All other players, including batters and bowlers, who have played in the IPL, they too have an advantage because they have played here. We always respect the opposition and this T20 team would show the same respect to the Pakistan team as (it shows) to any other opposition."

It will be a swansong event for Kohli as captain and Rahane said the team will try to win the trophy for him.

"I don't think there will be any pressure. He has captained the side for so many years and we know his record... All the players will try to win it for Kohli. We also have (Mahendra Singh) Dhoni as mentor, his presence will help the team."

Probed further on how Dhoni's presence will help, Rahane said: "See, he has captained India for so many years and he has captained CSK also all these years, his experience in this format... We know how good a captain he is, how sharp he is."

"He doesn't speak much but shares some small important points which will help the team. He doesn't complicate things, keeps it simple."

India have a lot of options in the opening slot with Kohli too expressing his desire to take the slot during the England series. Rahane said flexibility will be the key.

"It is important to have flexibility in this format and we do have flexibility. Virat had opened against England, but I don't know what would be the decision (during World Cup).

"I think we can't go with a fixed mindset ...It will depend on wicket, conditions, strategy, it is important to not get predictable."

T20 WC: Hardik Pandya will be an impact player for India, Rishabh Pant a game-changer, says Ajinkya Rahane

Virat Kohli-led Team India will begin their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign, in the UAE, with their tournament-opener versus Pakistan, on October 24 (Sunday) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. India are placed in a tricky group, i.e. Pool B, and will have to be on their toes to march ahead into the semi-finals.

It, however, goes without saying that Kohli-led India will start as one of the favourites for the ICC event as they have plenty of match-winners. The Men in Blue are aiming for their second title in the T20 WC and have plethora of star players in their arsenal, such as KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, etc.

Among plenty of match-winners in India's line-up, the former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram named SKY as the gamechanger for Team India. "India have found a player in Suryakumar Yadav. I think he will change the game after those 6 overs in time to come. I have seen his shots. He was with me at KKR as well, now he has improved as a cricketer. He plays his shots, safe shots and doesn't stop. So, he needs to go the way he has been playing in his career," Akram said on the ‘Salaam Cricket’ show on Sports Tak.

Suryakumar, following three successive IPL seasons for Mumbai Indians (MI), made his international debut early this year. He has already made heads turn with his ability to play shots all around the ground and maintain a healthy strike-rate at the top of the order.

Not Hardik Pandya or Rishabh Pant! Wasim Akram names India's gamechanger ahead of Pakistan T20 WC face-off

India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya opened up about his cricket journey as he said that he played in every local tournament to show his "worth" to the world. Crediting his father, whom he lost earlier this year, for his success, Pandya revealed his father had "tremendous faith" in his abilities and that's why he never stopped him from playing cricket.

Hardik is part of India's 15-member squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which is underway in Dubai as India is preparing to begin their campaign against Pakistan on October 24.

In a video shared on the official Instagram page Dream 11, Pandya said, "Dad ne mere liye ek bada step liya tha and I had to repay his faith. I played in every local tournament to show my worth to the world."

"In such tournaments, those who remained not out till the end were given some prize money. I made sure to win it every time. These small wins contributed towards my big dream of playing for India. The day I got my India debut, I felt I had repaid my father’s sacrifices a tiny bit," he added.

Hardik Pandya opens up on 'dream' of playing for India, credits his father for his success

Ahead of the much anticipated T20 World Cup clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has raised a "big concern" for Virat Kohli & Co as he expressed his views on the all-rounder Hardik Pandya's bowling. During the recently concluded IPL 2021 campaign, Pandya didn't bowl a single over during Mumbai Indians' campaign.

In a video uploaded on his Youtube channel, Chopra said, "Hardik Pandya not bowling is a big concern because India will have to go in with only five bowlers and won’t have a sixth option. Virat Kohli might have to bowl, like in 2016. That is something that is going to hurt India. If Hardik can somehow start bowling a few overs, it will be very good for India. In T20s, you want that extra bowling option up you sleeve."

"I only see Ravichandran Ashwin playing if India go in with three spinners or there are too many left-handers in the opposition. Jadeja will definitely play. He has grown in stature as a bowler but he is not your gun T20 bowler," he added.

Former South Africa speedster Dale Steyn and VVS Laxman, former India Test specialist, were asked to come forward with their respective XIs for Team India for the Pakistan face-off. While Steyn just made one change from Laxman's XI, he also named India's gamechanger. Speaking on Star Sports, Steyn said, "I wouldn't have been able to name it as perfectly as VVS but one change, I would bring in Shami ahead of Bhuvi, just on current form alone. Shami has been doing it quite nicely. Bhuvi is fantastic but on current form I would go with Shami in this side."

"Look, he's a game-changer. That's the big thing. He is a gamechanger whether he’s got bat or ball in his hand, specifically with that bat actually. He hasn't bowled a lot lately, at all to be honest. I would pick him purely on his batting alone. After the current form that he has had, it's a bit touch and go but he is a fantastic player. And teams will know that. So, when he comes out to bat, teams would have to prepare accordingly because Hardik Pandya can take the game away from you quite easily with the bat," the former speedster-turned-commentator added.

India thrashed England by seven wickets in their first warm-up match in Dubai on Monday to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the start of their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021. The batters impressed as fifties from Ishan Kishan (70 off 46 balls) and KL Rahul (51 off 24 balls) helped India chase down the target of 189 runs comfortably with an over to spare.

However, India's bowling woes were left exposed against the formidable English batting line-up during the warm-up clash. Senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar looked completely out of sorts as he went on to concede 54 runs off his four overs and finished wicket-less. Spinner Rahul Chahar also had a disappointing outing as he gave away 43 runs in his four overs while picking up a solitary wicket.

Former India wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel listed a few concerns for India heading into the T20 World Cup and said Bhuvneshwar's form is worrying. Parthiv also expressed concerns over Hardik Pandya's inability to contribute with the ball after the all-rounder once again didn't bowl even a single over in the warm-up game against England.

“I don't think Hardik is going to bowl in the first few games looking at the way Virat Kohli has used only five bowlers,” Parthiv Patel said on Star Sports.

“Yes, I'm worried about Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He looks in the kind of form which he had in the IPL, where he took just six wickets, but yeah, he looked out of rhythm, almost as if didn't practice.

“We might just see Shardul Thakur in the next game. It might be a combination that we might see," Parthiv added.

Hardik not bowling, Bhuvneshwar looks out of rhythm: Parthiv Patel on India's concerns in T20 WC 2021

During the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, Hardik Pandya -- along with Krunal Pandya and his wife -- had planned a trip to Ranchi to meet their beloved and former Indian captain MS Dhoni. The Pandya brothers had planned their surprise visit to Ranchi for Dhoni's 39th birthday, i.e. on July 7.

Back then, the Covid-19 pandemic had taken the whole world by surprise. After a brief halt, airlines had resumed operating but the Pandya brothers' plan to visit Dhoni amid such testing times spoke volumes about how much they adore the former Indian captain Dhoni.

In a recent interaction with ESPNcricinfo, Hardik, revealed how his surprise visit to Ranchi didn't shock Dhoni as he was already made aware of the Pandya brothers' travel plans. On being asked if Dhoni was surprised seeing him, Hardik said, "No! Because [someone from the airport staff] called him, saying Hardik and Krunal are coming. So my surprise got spoiled. Before I took off, he is like: “Are you coming here?” I said: “How did you know?” He said: “These charter people told me you’re coming. Chal, theek hai, aaja [All right, come over].

'Are you coming?' - Hardik Pandya reveals how MS Dhoni knew about his surprise Ranchi visit in 2020

Team India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya recently opened up on his special bond with former captain MS Dhoni. Pandya revealed Dhoni is like a brother to him who understood him right from the time when he first came into the Indian national side and supported him through thick and thin to play an important role in his rise as a cricketer.

Hardik made his India debut under Dhoni's captaincy in 2016 and went on to establish his credentials as one of the top all-rounders in the world. Hardik has been out of the Indian Test squad for a while now due to a back injury that has hampered his bowling, however, he remains a vital cog in India's white-ball teams.

Hardik said he is very close to Dhoni and admires him for being there when the all-rounder needed support from the former captain, who has helped a number of youngsters by sharing his experiences with them. Hardik insisted he never saw Dhoni as one of the great cricketers of India but as a brother who was there when he needed him.

"He was. MS was someone who understood me from the start: how I function, what kind of a person I am, what are the things I don't like, everything," Hardik told ESPNCricinfo's CricketMonthly.

"He knows what kind of an individual I am. He knows me quite deep. I am very close to him. He is the only person who can make me calm. When all this happened (the television show controversy), he knew that I needed support. I just needed a shoulder, which he provided multiple times in my cricketing career. I never saw him as MS Dhoni the greatest. For me, Mahi is my brother. I respect and admire the fact that he was there when I needed him the most," Hardik added.

While opening up on his conversations with Dhoni, who is one of India's most successful captains of all time and an icon of Indian cricket, Hardik said he doesn't like people calling him 'Mr cool'. Dhoni is often referred to as Captain Cool for keeping a calm demeanour even in the most pressurising situations on the field when leading a team.

“Staying with him, obviously, you learn to be mature, you learn to become humble. I have learned a lot by watching him. He never loses his cool," said Hardik.

Awwdorable moment| Hardik Pandya gets interrupted by son Agastya during an interview before T20 WC - Watch

Hardik Pandya is currently one of the most highly-rated all-rounders in world cricket. He has struggled with fitness issues recently and has not bowled much due to a back injury but remains a vital cog of the Indian team in white-ball cricket. He is part of India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2021 and will be donning the role of the finisher in the team.

Pandya, who made his international debut for India in 2016 has come a long way and has already established his credentials as one of the top all-rounders in the world. He was a regular in all three formats before a back injury hampered his progress as his bowling woes ensured he was out of the Test team. Nonetheless, he continues to be an important member of India's ODI and T20I teams.

Pandya recently opened up on tasting success at an early age and age his take on whether money changes the perspective of a youngster once he is offered a big contract in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pandya, who is a vital cog of the Mumbai Indians squad in the IPL, is currently on a salary of INR 110 million per season with the franchise.

Pandya said he and his brother Krunal, who also plays for Mumbai Indians, made sure they never lifted their foot off the ground after money changed their lives for good. Pandya, who comes from a humble background, said he would have been working at a petrol pump had it not been for the money in cricket.

“You need a strong head to understand what is happening. I and Krunal were very strong-headed, so we were able to accept the fact that money is there, but we make sure we never lift a foot off the ground. It might come across like I am flying and all that, but I know at the end of the day, my foot is always on the ground," Pandya said in an interview with Cricket Monthly when asked if money can be a distraction for youngsters in IPL.

"Money is good, bro. It changes a lot of things. I am one of those examples. Otherwise, I would be working at a petrol pump. I am not joking. For me, my family was the priority, to make sure my family has a good life,” he added.

Pandya further stated that it is important to talk about money as it helps youngsters in pursuing sports as a career. The star India all-rounder wondered how many youngsters will be willing to play cricket if there was no money involved in the game.

“In 2019 I had a conversation with someone who was saying, money should not be there for “you all young guys”. I disagreed. Also Read: From Amazon delivery man to Scotland's hero: Chris Greaves' story is an inspiration to all Pandya further stated that it is important to talk about money as it helps youngsters in pursuing sports as a career. The star India all-rounder wondered how many youngsters will be willing to play cricket if there was no money involved in the game. “In 2019 I had a conversation with someone who was saying, money should not be there for “you all young guys”. I disagreed. When a guy from a village or a small town gets a big contract, he does not keep it for himself, he is looking after his parents, he is looking after his relatives. Among other players, all-rounder Hardik Pandya grabbed most of the attention. "There is a huge difference between bowling in the nets and against quality batsmen like Babar Azam and that too in the World Cup," Gambhir said. "He has to bowl in the practice matches and the nets, and he has to bowl 100 per cent. If you are thinking that you will come and bowl just at 115-120 kph, I will not take that risk," the World Cup-winning former opener added. Hardik Pandya in or out? Will India rejig T20 World Cup squad over fast bowler conundrum?

Mumbai Indians (MI) failed to make it to the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 despite a late surge in the UAE leg of the tournament. MI won their last two league games of the season comprehensively but fell short in terms of the net run rate to finish outside the top four and make an early exit from the competition.

Mumbai Indians will be looking to revamp their squad and make some quality additions in the upcoming mega auction ahead of the 2022 edition of the league. The franchises are likely to get a limited amount of retentions ahead of the mega auction and they will have to be wise in making the final decision on who to retain.

Mumbai Indians have a number of match-winners in their ranks and will be looking to retain some of their best players before the mega auction. They had retained captain Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya and pacer Jasprit Bumrah the last time around.

However, former India opener Virender Sehwag believes Hardik should not be MI's first-choice retention this time around. Sehwag, who led Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in the IPL, named three players who MI should retain ahead of the new season and snubbed Pandya from the list.

"I think I would retain Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. Ishan seems to be in it for the long haul, age is on his side so he can serve you better. If Hardik Pandya doesn't bowl, I don't think he would be able to fetch big money at the auction because due to his injury concerns, everyone would think twice," Sehwag said.

Sehwag's comments came after Kishan took the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers to the cleaners in MI's final league game of the season. The young left-hander slammed a brilliant 84 off just 32 balls to power MI to a 42-run win. Sehwag believes MI should retain Kishan over Hardik as he is a top-order batsman and offers more value.

Sehwag also pointed out concerns regarding Pandya's bowling. The all-rounder didn't bowl a single ball in the UAE leg of IPL 2021 and has been struggling with his fitness to return to full-time bowling as an all-rounder.

"Will he bowl or not? If he can declare himself fit and start bowling then teams can buy him at the auction. The kind of performance Ishan Kishan has dished out today, expect many more from him in time to come because is a top-order batsman, unlike Hardik Pandya who bats lower," said Sehwag.

No Hardik Pandya! Virender Sehwag names 3 players Mumbai Indians should retain ahead of IPL mega auction

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma shed light on all-rounder Hardik Pandya's fitness saying that "he hasn't bowled a single ball yet", raising doubts on whether he would retain his place in the Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup beginning in a week's time.

Pandya batted against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday, scoring 10 runs off eight deliveries before he was sent packing by Jason Holder. The all-rounder did strike an unbeaten 30-ball 40 in Mumbai Indians' six-wicket win over Punjab Kings on September 28 to break the five-time champions` losing streak, but it's his bowling fitness which is causing concern ahead of the mega-event.

After missing the first two matches in the second leg of the tournament in the UAE, Pandya has featured for Mumbai as a pure batsman. The all-rounder hadn't bowled in the first leg of the tournament in India as well.

"Look, in terms of his bowling, he hasn't bowled yet. So the physios, trainer and the medical team are working on his bowling. As of now, all I know is that he hasn't bowled a single ball yet but we wanted to take one game at a time and see where he stands. You saw he didn't bowl today (Friday against SRH) as well, but he is getting better day by day. So, in the next week or so he might be able to bowl," said Sharma in the post-match press conference.

He hasn't bowled a single ball yet: Rohit Sharma opens up on Hardik Pandya's potential return with the ball

Mumbai Indians (MI) haven't been at their dominant best in IPL 2021. While they continue to remain alive in the race for the fourth playoffs spot, the Rohit Sharma-led MI camp have to pull up their socks if they wish to retain the trophy for the third time in a row.

One of the main reasons for MI not being in rollicking form is due to their star performers not being upto the mark, injury concerns and mainly their batsmen's inability to adapt to the slow and tricky surfaces in the UAE. In addition, Hardik Pandya's ordinary season, coupled with him not bowling at all in IPL 14, has added to MI's woes. Former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain and Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has now slammed MI all-rounder Hardik for not choosing to bowl even in the second and final UAE leg despite the T20 World Cup set to commence soon after IPL.

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Gambhir stated, "The biggest upset in this batting lineup is Hardik Pandya. He hasn't played any cricket, he is just a one-format player for me now. He only plays white-ball cricket and hasn't delivered this year and he's got into the T20 World Cup side when he hasn't bowled either. So that's a huge surprise."

"Selectors will probably have to answer this whether he's actually going to bowl four overs in the World Cup and if he decides to do that, does he have those overs under him? If he decides to bowl in the World Cup he has to start bowling from now on, Whether it's one or two overs per game so that he can... deliver during the World Cup where India will be looking to win. But if he doesn't bowl during the World Cup, then it's actually pretty difficult for me to put him into the playing XI. If he doesn't bowl I don't think he can be a part of India's best playing XI," the ex-KKR skipper added.

Hardik hasn't been preferred in the longest format for long, in a bid to manage his workload and since he isn't willing to bowl long spells at the moment. However, he was expected to bowl some overs for the MI franchise in the final leg of IPL 14 to be able to prepare his body and mind for contributing with the ball for the Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue in the upcoming T20 WC, in the UAE from October 17.

Gambhir feels Hardik might not even find a place in India's XI if he remains a specialist batsman and doesn't play as an all-rounder. The 27-year-old, who was last seen bowling in the Sri Lanka series in July, will be looking forward to chip in with few overs in MI's last league stage encounter, versus Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday (October 8).

IPL 2021: Rishabh's Delhi fly high, Rohit's Mumbai falter - A look at DC vs MI clash in pics

Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Avesh Khan continued his impressive run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Saturday as he ran riot against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. Avesh, who has been enjoying a magnificent campaign so far this season, bowled a stunning yorker to clean up Hardik Pandya in the game.

Avesh drew the first blood for DC after Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited Rohit Sharma & Co. to bat first. He got rid of Rohit Sharma cheaply on 7 off ten balls before sending Hardik packing in the 19th over. It was a peach of a yorker from Avesh, which breached Pandya's defence and shattered his stumps.

It was the first delivery of the penultimate over of MI's innings. Hardik was anticipating a shortish delivery but was left surprised after Avesh bowled a pacy yorker which the MI all-rounder had no answers to as his stumps were dismantled. Hardik could only manage 17 off 18 balls before being dismissed by the right-arm pacer.

IPL 2021: Will Mumbai Indians' Hardik Pandya bowl soon? All-rounder answers the big question

Mumbai Indians (MI) have dearly missed the presence of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the ongoing second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in the UAE after facing back-to-back losses. Mumbai Indians got off to a stuttering start with a loss against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their opening game of the UAE leg before succumbing to a crushing defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their second game on Thursday.

Hardik, who is one of the vital cogs in the Mumbai Indians squad has so far missed both their games since the resumption of the IPL 2021 season. Hardik is recovering from an injury and is expected to return to the playing XI for Mumbai Indians' next game against Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday. MI bowling coach Shane Bond provided a crucial update regarding the all-rounder's comeback post the team's loss to KKR on Thursday.

Bond said Mumbai Indians are balancing their own needs and keeping team India's needs in mind while dealing with Hardik's workload in the ongoing second leg of IPL 2021. Hardik is part of India's squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 this year and is touted to play a massive role for the Men in Blue with the bat and the ball.

"Hardik is training well. He trained today (Thursday) and he is getting closer to playing. We are balancing the needs of our team along with the needs of Team India as well. This franchise looks after its players. We are hopeful that Hardik will be back for the next match, he trained well on Thursday," Bond said during the post-match press conference after MI's defeat against KKR.

"It is not a hard directive, you have a duty towards the players. You have to look after them, like anything you have to balance everything and you have to balance what the player wants. One thing our franchise does is look after our players. There is no point in rushing him back, you do not want him to get injured and miss rest of the tournament when we have a chance to win it," he added.

In Hardik's absence, Mumbai slipped to their second straight defeat on Thursday. Batting first, Rohit Sharma & Co. got off to a good start with a 78-run stand between openers Rohit (33) and Quinton de Kock (55). However, the middle-order faltered as KKR pacers restricted the defending champions on 155.

In reply, KKR chased down the target comfortably with as many as 4.5 overs to spare. Venkatesh Iyer continued his impressive run as an opener and notched up his maiden half-century, smashing 53 off 30 balls while Rahul Tripathi scored a sublime unbeaten 74 off 42 deliveries to help KKR bag a 7-wicket win and make it two wins in a row in the UAE leg of the tournament.

According to the former Indian opener, Manish Pandey failed to score big in the three-match ODI series and reckoned that he was a 'disappointment'. Manish Pandey scored 26, 37 and 11. Sehwag also pointed out Hardik Pandya's poor show with the bat.

"Here was an opportunity for Manish Pandey and even Hardik Pandya for that matter. Both had scored some 15-20 runs so they disappointed me more. In this three-match series, if anyone got the most benefit, it was Pandey. He played all three matches, and got the chance to bat, and on all the three occasions, the situation wasn't challenging either that he had to accelerate," Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

"So, I believe Pandey has disappointed me the most. Perhaps he may no longer get a chance in ODIs for India, and even if he does, it is going to be a long time. Since he lost the opportunity to score in these three matches, he's fallen behind in the pecking order. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have scored runs so these two will be considered ahead of him in the middle order."

Sehwag also defended Indian opener, Prithvi Shaw, for getting out despite starting off well. Prithvi smashed 43 and 49 in the first and third ODI respectively.

"I understand that when a player is in touch, he would want to score more but it sometimes happens that you cannot read the game properly, like it happened with Shaw. He probably did not expect the ball to come to him so quickly and rap him on the pads," Sehwag added.
