Queen Ramonda won big! The 54th annual NAACP Image Awards were held in Los Angeles on Saturday night, and Angela Bassett and Abbott Elementary were among the night's top winners. Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony, which recognised the talent of people of colour in culture and entertainment. The 2023 NAACP Awards crowned Bassett with its top honour, Entertainer of the Year, and Viola Davis as an outstanding actress for 'The Woman King.' Not only this, but the most shocking win of the night was Will Smith, who won the Outstanding Actor award for 'Emancipation.' <p>Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker is engaged!&nbsp;The 'Tanu weds Manu' actress announced her engagement to political activist Fahad Ahmad.&nbsp;On&nbsp;Thursday (February 16), the actress shared a montage video featuring&nbsp;some adorable moments of the couple together.&nbsp; Alongside the video, she wrote, ''Sometimes you search far &amp; wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other! Welcome to my heart@FahadZirarAhmad It’s chaotic but it’s yours!''</p>

<p>The video shows some beautiful moments of the couple together along with some inside&nbsp;details about their relationship, such as how it began with a protest, their first selfie, and WhatsApp chats, among other things. In the end, the video shows Swara getting emotional&nbsp;at the registrar's office where the couple had a court wedding.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reports state that the couple had a&nbsp;court marriage on 6 January 2023, under the Special Marriage Act, 1954.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Some photos of the couple from their engagement have gone viral. Swara and Fahad look absolutely stunning in the photos. On her engagement day, Swara wore a red saree with golden embroidery. She paired the saree with a beige-coloured blouse. Meanwhile, Fahad&nbsp;is seen wearing a white kurta-pyjama, which he has paired with a bright red jacket.</p>

<p>This title was introduced last year to increase inclusivity after non-binary singer Sam Smith was automatically excluded from previously gendered categories in 2021.</p>

<p>Yet, controversially, the category had an all-male shortlist this year, and Styles in his acceptance speech named women artists who were originally shortlisted for the category but did not make the final list.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I'm really really grateful for this and I'm very aware of my privilege up here tonight so this award is for Rina, Charli, Florence, Mabel and Becky", he said, referring to Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, Florence Welch, Mabel and Becky Hill.</p>

<p>The Brit Awards chairman Damian Christian told Music Week this month that it was "disappointing to see the lack of female representation", blaming a lack of eligible 2022 releases by big female stars.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Styles' clutch of awards came as little surprise after the former One Direction bandmember earlier this month won the coveted Grammy award for album of the year for "Harry's House", which was the UK's biggest-selling album last year.</p>

<p>Styles' reference to his "privilege" on Saturday came after he prompted mockery with his Grammy acceptance speech by saying "this doesn't happen to people like me very often".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Critics pointed out that Styles as a white 29-year-old Englishman hardly falls into any underprivileged category.</p>

<p>They beat the UK's 2022 Eurovision Song Contest entry, Sam Ryder, who was the first ever contestant from the flamboyant Europop event to be shortlisted for a Brit award -- for best new artist.</p>

<p>Ryder came second at Eurovision with his song "Space Man", losing to Ukraine but achieving the UK's highest place at the contest for two decades.</p>

<p>"I used to be on the wedding circuit before this," he commented during the Brits show, upbeat despite not winning.</p>

<p>"I feel a responsibility to show immense gratitude."</p>

<p>Rapper Aitch, 23, whose debut album Close to Home included NFT technology, won in the best hip hop/grime/rap category, beating top star Stormzy.</p>

<p>After keeping everything secret, Bollywood stars Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra tied the knot at a royal wedding in Rajasthan. After getting married on February 7 in Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh palace in the most secretive way possible, the couple released a series of adorable photos of themselves.<br />

Their dreamy wedding photos quickly went viral on the internet. And now, three days after tying the knot at the famous place, the couple has released an adorable video of them from their special day.<br />

Drenched in 90s nostalgia, this visual feast is directed by cinema and theatre veteran Akarsh Khurana and stars Prajakta Koli in her teleplay debut along with Shikha Talsania, Chaitnya Sharma, and Adhaar Khurana. The central conflict of the plot is that lovebirds Lakshman (Chaitnya Sharma) and Priya (Prajakta Koli) cannot marry each other until the latter's elder sister Pallavi (Shikha Talsania) gets married. Lakshman then devises a hilarious plan and tries to get Pallavi hitched to an eligible NRI groom (Adhaar Khurana). What follows is absolute mayhem, endless fun, and impossible wedding moments.</p>

Adhir Bhat's script, Lisha Bajaj's hilarious one-liners, and the actors' energy brought the house down every time we rehearsed. Drenched in 90s nostalgia, this visual feast is directed by cinema and theatre veteran Akarsh Khurana and stars Prajakta Koli in her teleplay debut along with Shikha Talsania, Chaitnya Sharma, and Adhaar Khurana. The central conflict of the plot is that lovebirds Lakshman (Chaitnya Sharma) and Priya (Prajakta Koli) cannot marry each other until the latter's elder sister Pallavi (Shikha Talsania) gets married. <p>As music's elite gather in Los Angeles for the Grammy awards on Sunday, one question is playing on loop: Will Beyonce finally win the coveted Album of the Year prize?</p>

<p>The 41-year-old has the most chances at Grammy gold with nine nominations, following the release of "Renaissance," her rich, layered ode to club music.</p>

<p>She is a powerhouse contender for the night's major awards -- but the same goes for British balladeer Adele, whose introspective ode to the ugly cry, "30," earned her seven nods.</p>

<p>The face-off has prompted obvious comparisons to 2017, when Adele swept the top prizes at the glitzy music biz gala, shutting out Queen Bey's culture-shaking "Lemonade."</p>

<p>Six years later, Beyonce has continued to make history as the Grammys' winningest woman; with four more victories on Sunday, she could overtake classical conductor Georg Solti for the most victories by any artist.</p>

<p>But when it comes to the big three awards -- best album, best record, and best song -- Beyonce curiously remains something of an underdog.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She has never won Album of the Year honors and although she has the most Record of the Year nods with eight, she's never won that prize either.</p>

<p>She only scored Song of the Year once, for 2008's "Single Ladies."</p>

<p>The nod came after an intense, last-minute social media campaign mounted on her behalf by celebrity friends including Edward Norton, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Sarah Paulson.</p>

<p>Movie industry magazine Variety said the Academy had received multiple calls and emails in the wake of the nomination, and there was a raging debate among moviemakers over whether rules had been broken.</p>

<p>On Friday, the Academy said it would be examining its processes, although it did not mention the film by name.</p>

<p>"It is the Academy’s goal to ensure that the Awards competition is conducted in a fair and ethical manner, and we are committed to ensuring an inclusive awards process," a statement said.</p>

<p>"We are conducting a review of the campaign procedures around this year’s nominees, to ensure that no guidelines were violated, and to inform us whether changes to the guidelines may be needed in a new era of social media and digital communication."</p>

<p>"We have confidence in the integrity of our nomination and voting procedures, and support genuine grassroots campaigns for outstanding performances."</p>

<p>The Oscars are awarded based on the votes of the 9,500 members of the Academy – many of them previous winners.</p>

<p>Academy membership is divided into 17 branches – actors, directors, producers, costume designers and so on – with each branch picking the nominees in their area of expertise.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With around 1,300 members of the actors' branch, a nominee in this category needs just over 200 votes to make the shortlist.</p>
