<p>"Each of them has an individual character which I think is really interesting and powerful."</p>

<p>For Mirren, "1923" is a "wonderful observation and essay on American history" that feels like "a sprawling Russian novel."</p>

<p>Dalton said the truth about pioneers in the West has "not ever really been told honestly, has it?"</p>

<p>"It's been dressed-up in idealism... people aren't very nice when they're in bad circumstances."</p>

<p>In the show,&nbsp;Ford is regularly seen riding a horse through the stunning mountains of Montana -- just a few hours' drive from the remote ranch in Wyoming that the actor has called home for decades.</p>

<p>The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which organizes the film and television awards, has scrambled to reform itself since long-harbored criticisms of the group's practices went public in early 2021.</p>

<p>Tinseltown completely distanced itself from the Globes last January over voters' lack of diversity, alleged corruption and lack of professionalism, and the show took place behind closed doors.</p>

<p>But broadcaster NBC has gambled that it is time to bring back the glitzy gala, which will take place in Beverly Hills on January 10.</p>

<p>Tinseltown is waiting to see which stars will show up. Much of that will depend on who is nominated.</p>

<p>Tom Cruise and Brendan Fraser are both seen as strong contenders this awards season for their lead roles in "Top Gun: Maverick" and "The Whale," respectively.</p>

<p>But Cruise last year returned his three Golden Globes to the HFPA in protest at its behavior, and Fraser has said he will not attend the awards if he is nominated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It's because of the history that I have with them. And my mother didn't raise a hypocrite," Fraser told GQ last month.</p>

<p>Fraser has alleged that a former HFPA president, Philip Berk, sexually assaulted him at an industry event in 2003. Berk denies the incident, and has since been expelled from the group for calling Black Lives Matter a "racist hate movement."</p>

<p>In response to last year's controversy, HFPA expanded its voting body to include people with more diverse backgrounds, banned members from accepting gifts, and halted its in-person press conferences with stars, which were often derided for the improper behavior of some members.</p>

<p>"This is really not the old HFPA anymore," president Helen Hoehne recently told The Hollywood Reporter.</p>

<p>"I respect Brendan Fraser's decision... And I personally, sincerely hope there's a way for us to move forward and we are able to regain Mr Fraser's trust, along with the trust of the entire entertainment community," she added.</p>

<p>Still, powerful Hollywood publicists remain divided over the Globes, with some expressing skepticism about the reforms -- and a reluctance to return to the event with their stars.</p>

<p>Spotify did not respond to an AFP request for comment and a few hours after the initial reports by TMZ and the Hollywood Reporter, the disc was no longer available on either music platform.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Questioned by Variety, a representative for Sony Music, which owns Kelly's musical rights, said the album had been briefly and unofficially made public, which, according to Variety, meant it had been a bootleg copy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A lawyer for Kelly, Jennifer Bonjean, told Variety the singer and his entourage were not behind this release and that her client "is having intellectual property stolen from him."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The singer, known worldwide for his hit 'I Believe I Can Fly'&nbsp;and who sold 75 million records, was found guilty in September 2021 in a New York court of having masterminded a "system" of sexual exploitation of young women for three decades, including teenage girls.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For these sexual crimes, the federal court in Brooklyn sentenced him to 30 years in prison.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Last September, a court in Chicago, Illinois, found him guilty of the production of child pornography and embezzlement from a minor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He could face a sentence of 10 to 90 years in prison, according to federal prosecutors in Illinois.&nbsp;</p>

Talking exclusively with WION, Vikas talked about his documentary, how he came to know about the legendary figure, fondly known as 'Amma,' why he thought this story needed to be told and how it’s his best work to date.<br />

<strong>Q: Where did you get the idea to make a movie about her?</strong><br />
<br />
A: In 2018, somebody tweeted to me about her, and it was a very amazing, different story of human courage- where you do things for your happiness and don't worry about society. So, this story resonated with me instantly. As you know, most of my career and my entire life is based on my passion.<br />
<br />
I went to Kerala to meet her, and that's how things changed. I completely fell in love with her, with her innocence and determination, and with what she has gone through in her life. I felt that this is an important subject that no one has ever touched upon. Like, for somebody who is 96&nbsp;years old and has dreams, it was a very big thing. Both my grandmothers were illiterate and never went to school, so this story also touched and moved me personally.</p>

A: We never asked her to do anything; we just followed her with the camera and shot her doing whatever she was doing. Her daily housekeeping chores etc. We meticulously shot handheld, so that we don't have to stage anything. Apart from that, there is just one interview in which she sat down with us in 2019. Otherwise, the rest of the film has been shot naturally, along with whatever she was doing.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The other point is that when your subject is nearly 100 years old and wanting to learn at this age, that itself makes for a great topic. Seeing her going to school and studying was such a unique thing. She's can be an ambassador for India, especially for Indian women. Even though society stops them from pursuing their dreams, their courage is beyond all this, and that's what makes this story so special.<br />
<br />
Many suggested to me that I should not make the film with Amma, as she's so old and fragile. And, we should hire an actress for the role. And &nbsp;I told them, that you will never get that texture and feeling with anyone else but her.</p>

But the day I saw her walking with the pencil and the book and going to school—with the hunchback, such a fragile body—but so strong, I felt that she was an empress who was going to war. Behind the camera, shooting it felt like an empress was going for a walk, and that is when I realised how much courage you needed to do this. I’m so proud that I made this documentary about her. It’s possibly my best work to date.<br />

<strong>Q: What is the one moment from the film that you will always cherish?</strong><br />
<br />
A: Every time we used to work with her, she was very funny. I understand Kannada, but I do not understand Malayalam. But, with Amma, you don’t have to feel anything; you just don’t have to feel that there is a difference in language. You sit right next to her feet, and she just holds you from behind. That's something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I recently visited her to show her the new version of the film. And she said that I was waiting for you every day, and I started crying like a baby.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After months of silence, Amber Heard is seeking a new trial in the defamation case against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. In the new appeal filed by Amber's team of lawyers in a Virginia court, they have urged the court to reverse the jury verdict that was on Depp's side or start a new trial on the case.</p>

<p>As per multiple outlets, Amber's team submitted a 68-page long document in court in which they argued the exclusion of her therapy notes, which mentioned details about Johnny Depp's abusive nature towards Amber, has led to an unfair trial.</p>

<p>"The trial court improperly prevented the jury from considering several separate instances in which Heard reported Depp’s abuse to a medical professional," the lawyers wrote.</p>

After months of silence, Amber Heard is seeking a new trial in the defamation case against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. In the new appeal filed by Amber's team of lawyers in a Virginia court, they have urged the court to reverse the jury verdict that was on Depp's side or start a new trial on the case. As per multiple outlets, Amber's team submitted a 68-page long document in court in which they argued the exclusion of her therapy notes, which mentioned details about Johnny Depp's abusive nature towards Amber, has led to an unfair trial. "The trial court improperly prevented the jury from considering several separate instances in which Heard reported Depp’s abuse to a medical professional," the lawyers wrote. "Instead of suing Heard in California, where both parties lived and where Depp claimed to have suffered reputational harm, Depp sued in Virginia, a wholly inconvenient forum with no connection to Depp or any meaningful connection to his claims." "The trial court erroneously refused to dismiss this action on the ground of forum non-conveniens, based on its mistaken conclusion that Depp's claims arose in Virginia because the Washington Post's servers are located here," the new filing reads. <p>The crown, which usually forms part of the Crown Jewels on display at the Tower, has been used since the coronation of King Charles II in 1661 after the monarchy was restored following the 10-year republic of Oliver Cromwell.</p>

<p>The St Edward's Crown replaced a medieval version, thought to have dated back to the 11th Century reign of Edward the Confessor which was melted down in 1649.</p>

<p>King Charles III will be crowned with St Edward's Crown during the solemn ceremony to be held at London's Westminster Abbey on May 6, just as his late mother Queen Elizabeth II was in 1953. He will also wear the Imperial State Crown during the service.</p>

<p>The St Edward's Crown, made up of a solid gold frame set with rubies, amethysts, sapphires, garnet, topazes and tourmalines, follows its original medieval forebear in having four crosses-pattée and four fleurs-de-lis. It also has a velvet cap with an ermine band.</p>

<p>His attorney has sought to portray accusers either as liars who never had sex with his client, or as women who willingly lay on the casting couch, swapping sex for a leg up in the notoriously competitive world of filmmaking.</p>

<p>"It is time for the defendant's reign of terror to end," prosecutor Marlene Martinez told the jury in her closing argument on Thursday.</p>

<p>"It is time for the kingmaker to be brought to justice."</p>

<p>Weinstein, who was credited with making the careers of household names like Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow, used his power to prey on and silence women, Martinez said.</p>

<p>The jury heard testimony from women who said they had been tricked into being alone with the "Shakespeare in Love" producer in his hotel room.</p>

<p>Several described how they had begged him to stop as he forced himself on them, made them perform oral sex on him, or watch him masturbate, sometimes as he groped them.</p>

<p>"We know the despicable behaviour the defendant engaged in," Martinez told the jury.</p>

<p>"He thought he was so powerful that people would... excuse his behavior."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"'That's just Harvey being Harvey. That's just Hollywood.&nbsp;And for so long that's what everyone did. Everyone just turned their heads."</p>

<p>Defending Weinstein, Alan Jackson told the jury the prosecution had failed to provide evidence that any of the sexual encounters were anything but consensual.</p>

<p>The entirety of the prosecution's case could be summed up with five words -- "Take my word for it," he said.</p>

<p>Two of the four women at the centre of the charges described encounters that never happened, he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two others were women who knowingly engaged in transactional sex and now regretted it, Jackson said, part of what he called a "dogpile" on Weinstein in the wake of the explosion of the #MeToo movement.</p>

<p>Referring to Siebel Newsom, he said she "cannot square in her mind that she's a successful, well-educated, well-bred, refined woman who had consensual sex with Harvey Weinstein in exchange for opportunity and access.</p>

<p>"Regret is far from rape. You don't get to rewrite your own history no matter who you're married to."</p>

<p>Weinstein did not testify in his own defence.&nbsp;If convicted, he could face more than 100 years in jail.</p>
