All ten Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises revealed their final list of retained and released players on Tuesday (November 15) ahead of the mini-auction next month. While a number of high-profile players were released by their respective teams, the franchises managed to keep their core intact.

Mumbai Indians (MI) let go of star all-rounder Kieron Pollard after he announced his retirement from IPL while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) released the legendary Dwayne Bravo. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) let go of their captain Kane Williamson with Punjab Kings also parting ways with their skipper from last season - Mayank Agarwal.

There were no major surprises when it came to retention as all teams focused on investing in players while keeping the future in the mind. Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja were among the big names retained by their respective franchises.

JSW and GMR co-owned franchise Delhi Capitals today revealed a list of retained and released players ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023 Mini-Auction which is set to be held later this year. The Delhi-based franchise has retained a total of 19 players which includes six overseas players.

The players who have been retained by the franchise from their last season's fifth-place finish include Indian internationals Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw,&nbsp; Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, along with Ripal Patel, Sarfaraz Khan, Yash Dhull, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Pravin Dubey, Vicky Ostwal and Lalit Yadav. Delhi Capitals have also retained six overseas players which include Australian batter David Warner, West Indies batter Rovman Powell, South African fast bowlers Anrich Nortje &amp; Lungi Ngidi, Bangladesh speedster Mustafizur Rahman and Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) continue to make moves in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) trading window as they have now reportedly roped in Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur from Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction. KKR had earlier traded New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Gujarat Titans.

As per a report in ESPNCricinfo, Kolkata Knight Riders have traded Shardul from Delhi Capitals in an all-cash deal. Shardul was the most expensive fast bowler in the Delhi Capitals squad after being bought for a huge sum of Rs 10.75 crore (INR 107.5 million) at the mega auction last year.

The Capitals spent big money on acquiring his services but the pace all-rounder failed to impress with his performances in IPL 2022. Shardul picked up 15 wickets in 14 matches but conceded at an economy of 9.79. He also failed to contribute much with the bat.

As per the report, CSK were among the teams interested in roping in Shardul from Delhi Capitals along with the likes of Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans but the franchise decided to trade him to KKR.

With thee trades completed already in this window, KKR have already spent huge money and will have to let go of a number of players from their existing squad to head into the mini-auction with a decent purse.

KKR were left with only Rs 45 lakh (INR 4.5 million) after the mega auction last year and will have to release a lot of players to register both Shardul and Lockie, who have cost them Rs 20.75 crore (INR 207.5 million) combined.

Each team had a purse of Rs 90 crore (INR 900 million) at the mega auction last year and will get an additional Rs 5 crore (INR 50 Million) added to their remaining purse at the mini-auction ahead of IPL 023.

Delhi Capitals (DC) are reportedly set to release as many as five players ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction. The Capitals failed to qualify for the playoffs last season despite assembling a star-studded squad featuring some of the best players from around the globe.

India's pace all-rounder Shardul Thakur was one of their top&nbsp;buys at the auction ahead of IPL 2022 as they spent a whopping Rs 10.75 crore (INR 107.5 million) to secure his services. However, Sharul failed to live up to the expectations as he managed only 15 wickets in 14 games and 120 runs with the bat.

While he was among the wickets for his team, the Indian pacer was quite expensive and conceded at an economy rate of nearly ten. He is among the five players who are likely to be released by the Capitals ahead of the mini-auction which is set to take place before the start of the 2023 season.

Apart from Shardul, Indian wicket-keeper batter KS Bharat, New Zealand keeper-batter Tim Seifert, Mandeep Singh, and Ashwin Habbar are the other four players set to be released by the Rishabh Pant-led side, as per news agency PTI.&nbsp;

"Shardul is a premium all-rounder but his price tag was an issue. The others who are set to be released are Hebbar, Mandeep, Seifert, and Bharat," an IPL source was quoted as saying by PTI.

Spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav were inspirational in the middle overs even as Shardul Thakur complemented the duo with career-best IPL figures as Delhi Capitals inched closer towards play-off qualifications beating Punjab Kings by 17 runs in an IPL match on Monday.

Invited to bat, DC posted 159 for 7 courtesy Mitchell Marsh's 48-ball 63 and then restricted Punjab to 142 for 9. Thakur (4/36), Axar (2/14) and Kuldeep (2/14) shared eight wickets among them while Anrich Nortje got the important wicket of Jonny Bairstow.

It is between overs 6-14 where Delhi won the game as Kuldeep and Axar cumulatively gave away only 28 runs in seven overs with four wickets between them.

With this win, DC jumped a place to fourth with 14 points from 13 matches. Royal Challengers Bangalore (14 from 13 matches) have same points as DC but they were pushed down to fifth spot as they have -0.323 NRR compared +0.255 of Delhi.

Punjab, who remained at the seventh spot with 12 points from 13 matches, are virtually out of the reckoning for a play-offs berth as they also have a -0.043 net run rate.

Chasing 160 for a win, Punjab suffered a batting collapse after a good start. Jitesh Sharma (44 of 34 balls) and Rahul Chahar (25 not out off 24 balls) made a late fightback with a 41-run stand -- highest in their run chase -- for the eighth wicket but that proved to be too little too late.

David Warner fell prey to his own last-minute decision to change strike as Delhi Capitals (DC) locked horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Monday. Warner opened the innings with Sarfaraz Khan and was not looking to face the first ball as he headed to the non-striker's end at the start of the first over.

However, the Aussie star decided to change the strike at the last minute after it was confirmed that part-time spinner Liam Livingstone will bowl the first over for PBKS. Warner had a change of mind and was seen walking towards the striker's end to face the first ball from Livingstone.

However, little did the DC opener know that the decision might backfire for him. He ended up giving away an easy catch to Rahul Chahar at the backward point on the very first ball he faced from Livingstone to bag a golden duck as DC got off to a poor start in the game.
