Thanks to his quickfire half century, Warner completed 1000 runs against Punjab Kings (previously Kings XI Punjab) in the IPL. The Australia international became only the second cricketer to score 1000 runs against one IPL team after Rohit Sharma (against Kolkata Knight Riders).

This was the 12th half century for Warner against the Punjab franchise and when it comes to runs scored against PBKS, Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina are distant No 2 and No 3s in the list.

Warner was all praise for the DC bowlers in the post-match press conference as four of them took two wickets each to bundle out PBKS for their lowest total in the competition this year.

As per a report in PTI, New Zealand wicket-keeper batter Tim Seifert is the latest member of the DC squad to test positive for the virus. However, despite six COVID-19 cases being detected in the DC camp, their game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) is currently underway as per schedule at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The match was earlier shifted from MCA Stadium in Pune to Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai following the emergence of five COVID-19 cases in the DC camp. The six positive members have been placed in quarantine and will be allowed to join the squad once they have recovered fully. DC, meanwhile, can continue to focus on getting their campaign back on track after a shaky start to the season.

As per BCCI's guidelines, a team can continue to take part in a fixture if they have at least 12 fit players available to take the field. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced a change of venue for Match No. 34 – Delhi Capital versus Rajasthan Royals from MCA Stadium, Pune to Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai scheduled on April 22th, 2022.

The decision on the change of venue was made as a precautionary measure after Delhi Capitals registered the 6th&nbsp;COVID case with New Zealand wicketkeeper Mr Tim Seifert returning positive in today’s RT-PCR testing.

&nbsp;Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was hospitalised after testing positive for COVID-19 in a second RTPCR test along with two support staff, causing fear and panic among rest of the Delhi Capitals squad here on Monday.

"Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for COVID-19, following which he has been admitted to a hospital. The Delhi Capitals medical team is closely monitoring Marsh's condition," the IPL franchise said in a release issued late in the evening.

It is still not clear if Delhi Capitals' next game against Punjab Kings in Pune on Wednesday will be called off or not as the entire squad was put in room isolation for the day. The other two who have tested positive are team doctor Abhijit Salvi and the team masseur.

The RTPCR reports of all other players have returned negative. A few days back, team physio Patrick Farhart had tested positive for the virus, thus taking the total number of cases to four.

"A few more members from the Delhi Capitals bio-bubble, including support staff members, have returned positive tests as well. Though they are all asymptomatic, their condition is being monitored closely by the franchise," the release further stated.

"All remaining members of the bubble are currently in isolation in their respective rooms, and will be tested regularly."

During the day, Marsh had undergone two RT-PCR tests with the first one coming negative and the subsequent testing returning positive. This was after Marsh complained of sore throat and mild fever.

"Mitchell Marsh's RTPCR first report has come negative. However, the second RT-PCR report turned out to be positive. All other playing members have negative in RT-PCR tests. There is no threat to Wednesday's match between DC and PBKS," a senior BCCI official told PTI on Monday.

It is understood that the Australian all-rounder showed some symptoms and a Rapid Antigen Test was performed which came positive. It could have been due to the fact that he was undergoing rehab under Farhart and picked up mild symptoms which didn't turn out to be alarming. Salvi also seemed to have tested positive because of his proximity to Farhart and Marsh.

"DC were supposed to travel to Pune today but the entire squad members have been told to retire to their respective rooms and as per protocol RT PCR is being done to ascertain whether there is an outbreak in the camp or it is an isolated case like Patrick Farhart," a BCCI source had earlier said.

With all other players testing negative, the match is likely to go on as scheduled but the team will only travel after another round of RT-PCR test on Tuesday.

"All teams are staying at Conrad Hotel in Pune where BCCI has created a bio-bubble. They were supposed to travel but now it has been delayed. Obviously all those whose results would be negative would carry on with onward journey tomorrow," the source said.

As per the BCCI's testing protocols, every member of an IPL squad in a team bubble is tested every fifth day unlike last season when it was done every third day. However, if the franchise on its own wants the members to be tested, they are more than welcome.

After reports of an unnamed player testing positive for COVID-19 went viral on Monday, it was later revealed that Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was the one who returned a positive Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). However, in huge relief for the franchise and the BCCI, the Australian all-rounder tested negative in his mandatory RT-PCR test, as per a report in news agency PTI.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals' physio Patrick Farhat had tested positive for COVID-19 and is still in quarantine. However, barring him, all other members of the squad have tested negative for the virus in the RT-PCR tests conducted on Monday.

"Mitchell Marsh's RT-PCR report has come negative. RT-PCR report is supposed to be conclusive evidence and all other members have also tested negative in RT-PCR tests. There is no threat to Wednesday's match between DC and PBKS," a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI.

It is understood that an Australian all-rounder showed some symptoms and a Rapid Antigen Test was performed which came positive.

It could have been due to the fact that he was undergoing rehab under Farhart's guidance and picked up mild symptoms which didn't turn out to be alarming.

"DC were supposed to travel to Pune today but the entire squad members have been told to retire to their respective rooms and as per protocol RT PCR is being done to ascertain whether there is an outbreak in the camp or it is an isolated case like Patrick Farhart," a BCCI source had earlier said.

A team masseur had also apparently showed some symptoms but he has also reportedly tested negative.

"All teams are staying at Conrad Hotel in Pune where BCCI has created a bio-bubble. They were supposed to travel but now it has been delayed. Obviously all those whose results would be negative would carry on with onward journey tomorrow," the source said.

As per BCCI's testing protocols, every member of an IPL squad in a team bubble is tested every fifth day unlike last season when it was every third day. However if the franchise on its own wants the members to be tested, they are more than welcome.

The development comes after team physio Farhart tested positive last week. "We were supposed to leave today but have been told to stay in room until further notice," said a team source.

With COVID cases rising outside the IPL bio-bubble, the virus threat inside the protected environment has also increased.

Last season, the tournament had to be suspended midway due to the second wave before it could be completed in the UAE in September-October.

The all-rounder, who is coming off a hip injury, looked rusty and struggled to hit the ball. But that didn't dampen Warner's spirits as the southpaw continued to strike the ball with perfection as his family cheered him on from the stands.

The 35-year-old cracked five sixes and four fours before his fiery knock was brought to an end by Wanindu Hasaranga.

The Australian's wicket signalled a shift in momentum as RCB made a strong comeback with Delhi losing a flurry of wickets.

Josh Hazlewood (3/28), who was exceptional, then bowled a brilliant 15th over, dismissing Rovman Powell for a first ball duck and then accounting for Lalit Yadav (1).

Delhi's hopes were pinned on the big-hitting Pant (34), who did hit some lusty blows, but his whirlwind innings was brought to an end by a one-handed blinder from Virat Kohli.

Shardul and Axar Patel managed to play some big shots but the RCB bowlers had other plans as DC fell short.

Earlier, the Capitals' bowlers performed as a well-oiled unit initially with Shardul Thakur (1/27), Khaleel Ahmed (1/36), Axar Patel (1/29) and Kuldeep Yadav (1/46) doing well but bled runs in the slog overs as Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed (32 not out) added 74 in the last five.

Karthik, who has been revelling in his role as a finisher this season, hit five fours and as many sixes in his sensational knock.

DC made full use of the coin landing in their favour as they put pressure on RCB early on with tight fielding and good bowling.

The Delhi bowlers managed to snare two wickets in the powerplay overs while giving away 40 runs.

Thakur produced a beautiful inswinger that curled into Anju Rawat (0) to give Delhi the early breakthrough. Khaleel Ahmed then made it two as he accounted for the dangerous Faf du Plessis.

Lalit Yadav effected Virat Kohli's run out with a brilliant direct hit to compound RCB's woes. It was then that Maxwell took the onus upon himself as he pummelled Kuldeep Yadav for 23 runs in the ninth over.

The all-rounder hit top gear as he smashed the ball to the fence twice and over it a couple of times. His half-century came soon after as he continued to hit the Delhi bowlers all round the park.

However, Kuldeep extracted his revenge a few overs later as the ball caught the Australian's bat's toe and Lalit Yadav completed the regulation catch.

With Maxwell gone, Karthik and Shahbaz joined forces. The wicketkeeper made batting look effortless as he cracked four boundaries and two maximum off Mustafizur to plunder 28 runs off the 18th over.
