<p>Commenting on his prospect of becoming a regular in the ODIs, Warner in a chat with News Corp and cricket.com.au. said,&nbsp;"Every time I put something out there, I become a selector [but] I think he's definitely got the ability to definitely do that."</p>

<p>"He (Jake) can lock it in. And a bit like myself, you [have to learn] how to play…50-over cricket. That's one thing that I learnt from Twenty20. I got dropped after seven games because I didn't really understand how to play the game of one-day cricket," he added.</p>

<p>"So, from a one-day perspective, if he learns that and understands that he'll have a fantastic career, especially batting in Australia. Best wickets in the world," Warner further said.</p>

<h2>Jake’s ready for the rise</h2>

<p>Jake made a name for himself during the Marsh Cup last year, smashing a 29-ball hundred – the quickest ever in List A cricket. Jake then made his Australia debut soon after, playing two ODIs against West Indies, scoring 51 off 23 balls across two innings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>His mega moment came when Delhi Capitals roped him in as an injury replacement, with Fraser smashing three of the quickest fifties in the tournament history.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With the selectors likely to pick him for the upcoming Scotland and England series later this year, Warner feels McGurk is not far from his Test debut.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Will he play Test cricket? I think he'll have to have a breakout year in the next 12-18 months to prove himself," Warner said. "I think we've all had to score hundreds to get your name up there [to] warrant that.</p>

<p>"Hopefully, when it comes to Shield cricket this year, he sticks at that. There's going to be a lot of money thrown around to him for these Twenty20 leagues, and it's upon him and his management to keep him focused and aligned with what he wants to do. Yuvraj took to his social media handles&nbsp;to share the poignant note and pay&nbsp;tribute to what was a glittering career, filled with individual and team accolades for the Australian.&nbsp;</p>

<p>David Warner feels the infamous ball-tampering controversy of 2018 dubbed&nbsp;'Sandpapergate' would always cast a shadow on his cricketing career, which is set to end soon. Warner, who retired from Tests and ODIs, is set to call it quits from international cricket altogether after the end of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, being held in the West Indies and the USA.</p>

<p>Reflecting on his decorated career, the Aussie opener said he felt the 2018 infamous incident remains the only blemish in his career, in which he has won the WTC, ODI WC and T20 WC for the national side.</p>

<p>Talking to the reporters ahead of Mitchell Marsh-led Australia's Super 8 campaign in the T20 WC, Warner said, "My back was always up against the wall when I came back, and I knew that. I copped my fair share over my career. I've probably been the only one that's ever copped a lot of flak, whether it's people who don't like the Australian cricket team or don't like me."</p>

<p>"I've always been that person who has copped it. I always feel like I've taken a lot of pressure off a lot of guys as well and I think, understandably, I've been that person to be able to absorb that. But one can only absorb (so much). For me, it's great to go out knowing I'm not going to cop it anymore. I felt I had great support from, especially our coaching group now and selectors have been great. All in all, I've had a privileged career, since 2018 I've really enjoyed that time coming back and just being around the guys and training hard and working as hard as I can."</p>

<p>During Australia's tour of South Africa in early 2018, Steve Smith-led visitors were involved in a four-match Test series where the Sandpaper fiasco (i.e. the ball-tampering scandal) occurred, during the penultimate Test in Cape Town. Australian opener Cameron Bancroft was caught by television cameras trying to rough up one side of the ball with sandpaper -- in order to make the red cherry swing in flight.</p>

<p>Then captain Smith and vice-captain Warner were also found to be involved in the ball-tampering incident. As a result, all three received unprecedented sanctions from Cricket Australia (CA).</p>

<p>Smith and Warner were handed a one-year international ban each whereas&nbsp;Bancroft faced a nine-month suspension. Warner was regarded as the mastermind behind the whole scandal.</p>

At the end of the day, I still got fans who come onto my page and talk to everyone. So it's great," he added.</p>

<p>Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has equaled David Warner's Indian Premier League (IPL) record of scoring 500 or more runs in seven seasons. Kohli reached the milestone by scoring 70 not out&nbsp;against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 28.</p>

<p>Kohli now has exact 500 runs in 10 matches played this season at a strike rate of 147 and an average of 71. Prior to the current season, he had scored 500 or more runs in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2023 as well. Kohli had amassed 557 runs in 2011 in 16 games, 634 runs in 2013 in 16 games, 505 runs in 2015 in 16 games, 973 runs in 2016 in 16 games, 530 runs in 2018 in 14 games, and 639 runs in 2023 in 14 games.</p>
