Doctoral candidate in marine geophysics at the University of Washington Zoe Krauss said that the area is not part of the subduction zone, which is a region where one tectonic plate has been sinking into the mantle below another plate.

"Mid-ocean ridges aren't actually capable of producing that large of earthquakes, not too far above a magnitude five. This is not going to trigger 'the big one' on the subduction zone," said Krauss, while speaking to Live Science.

Scientifically, the earthquakes have been interesting since they can reveal details regarding ways in which the ocean floor pulls apart and the new crust gets formed, said Krauss.

The Juan de Fuca plate and the Pacific plate have been pulling apart at the endeavour site, as per the scientists.

This pulling apart leads to the formation of long, linear fault lines on the Earth's crust and also thins it which allows magma to rise up. After the magma reaches the surface, it slowly cools and hardens and a new ocean crust is formed.

The Endeavour site is continuously monitored under the North-East Pacific Time-series Undersea Networked Experiments (NEPTUNE) which is run by Ocean Networks Canada.

"The vast majority are less than magnitude one. They’re these little pops. But it’s pretty cool because it allows us to track where things are happening, where things are breaking and where things are moving around," Krauss said.

He added that the quakes most likely occurred because the seafloor was stretched to its maximum extent and a great amount of stress was built-up.

The shocking incident took place on Friday (Mar 15) where the 50-year-old man identified as Jagpreet Singh from Punjab’s Ludhiana was arrested after his wife, Balwinder Kaur, 41, was found inside their residence in the Canadian city of Abbotsford with stab wounds.&nbsp;

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said that the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) were responding to an incident of assault on Friday around 10:50 pm (local time) and found Kaur “inside the residence suffering from life-threatening stab wounds.”

Rajwinder also alleged that the 50-year-old had been obsessed with the thought of getting to Canada and had been harassing Balwinder to arrange his travel as soon as possible.&nbsp;

The couple reportedly had regular arguments about finances after Jagpreet stopped working and was unemployed.&nbsp;

New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters underscored the need to give the current investigation some time before drawing conclusions about the claims made by the Canadian government against India regarding the death of India-designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Almost nine months after the killing of India-designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the alleged video of the incident has surfaced on the internet, Canada-based CBC News reported.

The footage shows Nijjar being shot by armed men in what has been dubbed a "contract killing".

Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on the evening of June 18, 2023.

He was designated a terrorist by the National Investigation Agency in the year 2020.

CBC News said&nbsp;exclusive security video was obtained by&nbsp;The Fifth Estate,&nbsp;an investigative documentary series that airs on the network.

The report said that the footage has been independently verified by more than one source.

The attack, which has been termed as 'highly coordinated', was carried out by six men and involved two vehicles.

Sidhu said that he told his friend Malkit Singh to chase the attackers while he made efforts to assist Nijjar.

"I tried to press his chest and tried to shake him to see if he was breathing. But he was totally unconscious. He was not breathing," he said.

Singh said that he chased the two men until they got into the Toyota Camry.

"A car came from around the alley and they got into it. There were three others sitting in that car," Singh said. "We could smell the smoke from the guns, the smell of the guns was everywhere."

Nijjar's death sparked a diplomatic row between India and Canada after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged New Delhi's involvement in the Khalistani terrorist's killing.

India, however, has rebuffed the accusations calling them "absurd and motivated".
