<p>As India mourns the loss of lives of those affected by the Uttarakhand glacier burst incident, Bollywood celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood shared messages of hope and sent their prayers to those suffering.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The tragedy took place as the Nanda Devi glacier broke off in the Chamoli district of the Uttarakhand state on Sunday. The glacier then triggered an avalanche that created a deluge in the Alaknanda river system. &nbsp;It washed away hydroelectric stations, leaving at least seven people dead and 125 missing, who are feared dead.</p>

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the announcement news on his social media account. The new film has been titled ‘Mayday’. Going by Adarsh's description, the film looks like a thriller.</p>

We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. It is through this fictional story we’d like to show what could have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they met and bonded," SS Rajamouli had revealed during the film's launch last year in Hyderabad.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The pandemic has delayed Akshay Kumar starrer 'Sooryavanshi' yet again. The superstar's film, which has been helmed by Rohit Shetty, was first scheduled to release in March this year but cinema halls were shutdown as the Indian government announced nationwide lockdown.<br />

It was later announced that the film would be getting a theatrical release during Diwali, However, it was announced on Thursday that the film will be releasing during the festival time. The film has been co-produced by Reliance Studio and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.<br />

The studio had announced in June this year that the film will hit the theatres on Diwali, while their another release Ranveer Singh's '83' will arrive on Christmas.<br />
<br />
Though the theatres are still shut across the country, they are expected to reopen from October 15 after the Union Home Ministry permitted cinemas and multiplexes to resume operations with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity.<br />
<br />
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will be issuing a standard operating procedure (SOP) for cinemas soon.<br />
CEO of Reliance Entertainment Shibashish Sarkar is happy with the government's decision but he is still unsure whether all the theatres will be operational by October 15.<br />
<br />
Given the uncertainty, Sarkar said it is not practically possible to release 'Sooryavanshi' on Diwali.<br />
<br />
"One thing is clear, we are not releasing any film on Diwali. No other decision has been taken. It is not possible to release a film on Diwali now. As of now, all cinema houses are not opening from October 15. Even if it opens on November 1, how can you release a film in 10 or 15 days notice period?" he told a news agency.<br />

He said the makers are yet to take a call on the new release date of the Rohit Shetty-directed film.<br />

"We are not sure whether we will change both 'Sooryavanshi' or '83' or we will just shift one film. It is definitely clear December to March is the time (to release films), this is the realistic timeline," he added.<br />

<p>Actor Akshay Kumar on Monday said theatres have the "first birth right" over movies and though he's excited his upcoming 'Laxmmi Bomb' will stream digitally, he feels sad it couldn't release on the big screen.<br />

The horror-comedy is set to stream on Disney+Hotstar, bypassing a theatrical release as screens remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.<br />
<br />
The streamer announced its slate of seven film which will have a direct-to-digital release, including Ajay Devgn's 'Bhuj: The Pride of India', Abhishek Bachchan starrer 'The Big Bull', and 'Sadak 2', featuring Alia Bhatt.<br />
<br />
In a virtual press conference, Akshay said OTT release was the only wise option in the current scenario.<br />
<br />
"To be honest, today I am excited for this platform. But yes, I'll say that I am also sad for theatres. After all, movies are theatres first birth right. But in the current situation, everyone's safety is of utmost priority.<br />
<br />
"Today with theatres being shut and people watching movies on OTT platforms, if I can make my fans happy by releasing film on Disney+Hotstar which is a big platform with a massive reach then I am glad," Akshay told reporters.<br />
<br />
'Laxmmi Bomb' would be the actor's first digital release in a career of nearly three decades.<br />
<br />
His 'Sooryavanshi' co-star and longtime friend, Devgn, said he was equally thrilled to see his patriotic drama 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' release on the platform.<br />
<br />
"First thing that you want when you make a film is that more and more people get to watch it. The base of Disney+Hotstar is so huge that when 'Bhuj' will come every person will try to watch the film, besides the fact that the film should be good. We have tried to make a good film," the actor told reporters.<br />
<br />
Adding to Akshay's comments, Uday Shankar, President, The Walt Disney Company APAC and Chairman, Star and Disney India, said no one but only fans of artistes have the right over films.<br />
<br />
"If anyone has birth right over films, it's the film goers and film fans. Fans of the actors, directors who want to see these films and it is our duty to show them films.<br />
<br />
"What's going to happen now is that our industry will grow bigger, be more successful, more people will be able to work, we will be able to produce more films. Theatres as well digital screens will survive and grow together with films."<br />
<br />
Shankar was of the view that a similar debate arose when TV first started airing films, with many fearing that people would stop going to cinema halls.<br />
<br />
"But that didn't happen. Cinema halls grew, more people started watching films, our screens grew, the economics of our films also grew.</p>
