Rajasthan Royals (RR) got off to a perfect start with the ball after posting a huge total of 217 runs on the board in their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 &nbsp;on Monday. KKR opener Sunil Narine was sent packing on the very first ball of the first over after getting run out.

Aaron Finch opened the batting with Narine for KKR as they began their pursuit of the 218-run target. While KKR were hoping to get off to a flying start, they were dealt a blow on the very first ball after Shimron Hetmyer ran out Narine with a sharp throw. Facing the first ball from Boult, Finch played towards cover and ran for a single.

However, it was an abysmal call from the Australian batter as the ball went straight towards Hetmyer, who picked it up and hit the bullseye with a perfect throw. It was a direct hit from Hetmyer as Narine was caught short at the non-striker's end after trying to get back from halfway mark.

It was the worst possible start for KKR in their big run chase as Narine was sent back without facing a delivery while opening the innings in his 150th game in the IPL. Aaron Finch has stepped down from the captaincy of Big Bash League (BBL) side the Melbourne Renegades but is determined to lead Australia's T20 World Cup title defence on home soil next year.

Finch's Australia claimed their first global T20 title with victory over New Zealand in the final in Dubai on Sunday and have less than a year to prepare for the next tournament which starts in Oct. 2022.

Finch, who turned 35 on Wednesday, has had knee problems after surgery in recent months but said he would hold onto the captaincy if fit.

"If I can get there, absolutely," the short-format skipper told reporters on Thursday.

"I probably need a little bit of extra time to get my knee right now.

"I pushed the rehab really hard and probably paid the price for it a little bit throughout the tournament."

Finch said Langer had received "confronting" feedback from players about his coaching style and taken their advice on board.

"You have some really honest conversations which aren't always the easiest ones to have," Finch said.

Finch revealed that Marsh was disappointed when he was dropped from the squad. "Yeah, he bounced back beautifully. He was obviously disappointed; everyone is when they get dropped. I don`t know of anyone who is over the moon when they get dropped," said Finch. "Yeah, he was disappointed, but he knew it wasn`t a performance thing.
