Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was injured in a shooting at a private event in Sanford, Florida near midnight on Sunday (April 28). The WR, a bystander, was caught in the firing after a teenager pulled the gun and started shooting after a fight in the event.
The Texans, however, have released a statement, saying that the WR only has a 'minor wound.'
"[Dell] has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits," the Texans' statement read. "We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate but ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident."

Around 10 people were injured, not severely, in the shooting incident, said the authorities. The WR, as per a team spokesperson, was released from the hospital on Sunday (April 28) and is on his way back to Houston.
As for the gunman, the accused wasn't involved in the melee but pulled out the gun and started shooting after a fistfight broke out. Luckily, all 10 injured people have minor wounds below the waist and have been taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect, a 16-year-old, was disarmed by the security guard at the event and was taken to the juvenile centre after being arrested. He has been charged with attempted homicide, firing a weapon in a public place, using a firearm during a felony and illegal possession of a firearm by a minor.
Dell, who was picked by the Texans in Round 3 as the 69th overall pick during the 2023 NFL draft, had impressed in the 11 games he had played in his rookie season. He finished the season with 709 yards and seven touchdowns before suffering a broken leg in December against the Denver Broncos.
Since the injury, he has been recovering and Houston coach DeMeco Ryans said last month that he has been participating in offseason activities.
